Just wanted to give anyway peace of mind if possible! I received my UCSD secondary invite July 5th and submitted on July 26th. Then, I received my II on August 25th and completed it on September 29th. I received my offer on Friday, October 25th around 2 pm. It seems that rejections and waitlists are sent around 1 pm PST and acceptances are sent around 1:30-2 pm. All communication is sent via email.

That being said, here are detailed stats about my application to hopefully give you some hope and future applicants some insight:
Primary Submission Date: 5/31/22
Primary Processed Date: 7/01/22
GPA: 3.82
BCPM GPA: 3.74
MCAT: 505 (2022), 496 (2021)
CASPER: 2 quartile
Research Hours: 415
Teaching Hours: 2,700
Shadowing Hours: 100
Volunteer (medical) Hours: 430
Volunteer (non-medical) Hours: 18,125 (I had a couple experiences I have been heavily involved in for 10+ years)
Paid Employment (non-medical) Hours: 480
# of Leadership Roles: 9
Residency: California
Languages: English (native), Spanish (fair)

As of 11/16/22:
MD Schools Applied To: 41 (this includes all the top 20 schools, California schools, and Arizona schools)
DO Schools Applied To: 15
Secondaries Received: 54 (yes, I realize this was ridiculous)
Secondaries Completed: 37
MD II Received: 4
DO II Received: 8
MD Acceptances: 2 (I'm still waiting to hear back from one and have one interview coming up)
DO Acceptances: 8

I hope this shows you that your MCAT is not an end-all-be-all.
I definitely think the 18000 hours of volunteering makes up for the MCAT lol

Nope. I would ask again just in case they missed it, but I don’t want to be annoying if they left me on read intentionally
My understanding of what they said (in the 9/27 interview) was that they previously put everyone on the waitlist, but that they already changed this (as in, they changed it over the past few years - not something they will only start doing from this year). I think that means this change was already implemented last year. If you look at MSAR for last year: I think about ~300 students end up on the waitlist, but SD interviews around ~900 students and accepts around ~300. If they did put everyone on the waitlist last year, then shouldn't it have had about ~500-600 people?

So while I hope they really reduce the number of people in the waitlist this year, I feel like we might be misunderstanding that there will be a waitlist spot reduction this year. But, a few people were rejected this year after the first decisions release date, which I don't think happened in the previous years (at least based on the SDN threads), so I might be wrong.

I got an MSTP II last month via email (scheduled for January), and they said they would send more info in November. I still have not heard anything back from them and my Amp portal hasn't updated to show an II either. Starting to feel like I might have got that II email by mistake 😅 Any other MSTP applicants experience something similar?

Same boat - MSTP applicant here. Got an II middle of last month through email for end of January. AMP portal not updated to reflect II (no new tab and email message not logged in AMP). Also still have not received any additional info. Definitely not a mistake! Especially if you confirmed it and they did not withdraw the II

Pre-II Hold today, complete early August 🙃 At least its not an R is what I tell myself

Does UCSD send rejections throughout the cycle? From what I’ve read UCLA sends them in February/March so I want to ask

Hi all! I was wondering if anyone knows if all GHAC interviews are grouped together?

I guess a better question would be, has anyone had their interview already that applied to GHAC track?

I think it could be grouped together since it seems like they only interview a few people.
I got II a week ago or so and the only available dates were 1/30 & 2/30!!

speaking it into existence 🤣 good luck on your interview!!
Thanks, homie. I don't have a crazy high MCAT, either. Seems like they are looking into the person. I know they offer interviews MCAT blind, but we know at least one person got an A with a 505, so that's amazing. I also have unique and strong ECs with strong ties to the area and university. Hoping for an A as it is my number one. It would be amazing to stay home, especially after moving so much for the military before.

same! not so much strong ties but I'm a cali resident and stayed here for undergrad. quick question, when selecting a day, we don't have to select a time right? there is only one time available?

Yeah, I just picked a day, and it is structured around their timeline. I am a regular MD candidate so it may be different if you are a PRIME or GHAC

Hi! I made a huge mistake and missed just discovered my secondary invite in spam. Does anyone know whether submitting now would be too late?

They have a one month “deadline” it isn’t super strict but it depends on when you received the secondary

I think they have a deadline of 1 month after they sent the secondary to your inbox. If it’s before then, i think go for it!

It was in my inbox on 8/19 to so definitely missed the 30 days. But I looked at the portal and it seems like the submit button is still active. I might give it a shot. I'll report back for anyone else in my boat lol.

Definitely past 30, but looks like I am still able to submit.
I would definitely ask them first. I get the feeling that they would not close the submit button until after the cycle closes. It is a big secondary, unless you already wrote one up. Sucks for sure if you can’t.

WL on Nov 18. WARs 90, LM 73. Anyone know how much movement there is on the WL?

Hi! I just wanted to update that the UCSD admissions office is so so kind! I was able to submit.

I saw some other posts in the past, you’re not the only one. I think it is more of a professional move to contact them. I’m happy that you got to submit! That was a fun secondary it really made me reflect on my life so far. Good luck homie
