Hello all! My portal updated with a scholarship tab that said I have been selected for the DSS scholarship. However, I have not gotten a phone call. Someone please tell me this is real, right?! Or is it not real until I get a call?
You made me check and I just saw that I got DSS too!!! I was accepted all the way back in November and didn't get a scholarship phone call either, so I'm praying this isn't a mistake 🙃

Update: phone call received, 50% tuition, its real 😄

Update for others: No phone call received (yet at least), but emailed admissions and they confirmed it's real! AHHHHHHH. WashU wasn't even on my initial school list because I never thought I'd have a shot. Life is crazy sometimes, so SHOOT YOUR SHOT!

Does this school accept letters of interest/intent? I thought at interview they said they did but on document uploads there isn't a designated space for it, only 'application updates'

I know they care a lot about demonstrated interest, even if they don’t say so

For those of you who have sent an LOI...do you receive a response from admissions or from someone on the adcom if you send it directly to them?

No, but I asked them to confirm a couple days later and they said they did receive and add it to my file

How soon after an interview should you send a LOI? Like a month?

Like is 3 weeks after your interview too soon to send a LOI bc ik they don’t like it immediately after bc they wanna see you’ve actually taken the time to consider everything to make a mature decision but idk

3 weeks is fine. Just send it 🙂

Okay! Should I send to Dr valerie ratts or the director of admissions?
There should be a place to upload it in the portal. Then you can use your discretion on whether to email admissions or not in addition. Good luck!

Are we expecting the calls tomorrow or an unknown date in March?
Finally took a peek at last year, looks like some might find out tomorrow, but some are scattered for the next week or two, so noone should get stressed if they don't hear anything tomorrow. (or at least that's what I'll tell myself until Mar 15. 😊)

Does anyone know around what time calls went out at last cycle?

From reading last year’s thread, they had ~2 waves of calls for As (first and third week of March) around Thursday/Friday, with the acceptance emails coming a few days after. There were emails for all the remaining WL/Rs in first week of April

Mine was late October so I feel like my chances are slim…

Do y'all think any calls went out today but just haven't been reported?

Mid-January for me. And yeah, I'm sure at least somebody on SDN would have gotten a call if they were calling today.

does it seem like it was a wave or do you all think that might be coming later instead?
