Quick question- I got a Why WashU Wednesday invite, which the school website says is only for applicants who get II. I don't have an II yet, and my status on the app website says "application processed" but no other info. Am I reading too much into this or should I reach out to admin to ask about my app status?

The website says “those who have interviewed or are scheduled to interview to learn in greater detail what distinguishes WashU’s School of Medicine”

Therefore, if you’ve received that email, you’re perhaps in line to get an interview invite email. That’s my guess. Otherwise it doesn’t make sense to send it to all applicants. Besides, you’ve to register with your AMCAS ID.

If it’s not an II it’s not an II ladies and gentlemen don’t read too much into it.
That being said, +1, just got this email. Knowing it was coming didn't stop the heart attack and subsequent disappointment

WAIIIIIITTT WHHHATTTTTTTTT

Got the Why WashU email aswell, are all of us really up for an II without knowing? I'm cautiously optimistic, it would be straight-up sadistic if this was just a catfish.

Hopium - Slaps

Called WashU admissions office. They said they’re doing the “Why WashU Wednesdays” different this year. It’s a generic event for all to get more info about their programs and resources. Not indicative of an II, unfortunately.
ARE YOU KIDDING ME

The Why WashU Wednesday zoom registration link doesn't appear to be working, I called admissions and they said to try again in 48 hours.

For the Why WashU info session: my registration link took me to a site that said “registration closed”. Does that mean they’ve reached capacity or will it only be available on the day at 5?

I registered yesterday without issue. I would imagine it's probably full

Are why washU Wednesdays open to all applicants or just those who have II?

Could you outline the main points of the session?
They recorded the session - not sure where/when it’s available. It was basically just a Q&A about their curriculum, specifically their faculty coaching program. Essentially, M1s are randomly assigned to a coaching group with 7 other M1s and they meet once weekly through Phase 1 of the curriculum and eventually meetings wean to one every ~8 weeks in line with the end of each clinical rotation. Coaches are MDs/DOs who are ultimately there to be like a big brother/sister — they can help you connect with other people for research/service/etc. but they’re mostly there to talk through difficulties you’re having e.g. difficult patient interactions, homesickness, failing a block etc. One student on the panel described her group as similar to a group therapy session. That’s the gist, you can find more detail assuming they post the recording at some point

That is very helpful. Thank you so much.
