2024-2025 Washington University in St. Louis

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Based on historical cycletrack data and SDN threads yes they are probably done sending out IIs. The massive R wave came mid-late Jan so brace yourselves everyone
They said in a podcast they will send until late Jan - hopefully the letter I sent yesterday works💀

Someone last year on sdn reported an interview scheduled for early feb

Am I coping or do we think that most calls are gonna be made in the evening? Last wave had much more As reported on SDN and admit.org

Hi! I am so blessed to have been accepted to WashU. I also am fortunate to have receive a full COA scholarship at a T30 medical school. Is there any way I can leverage this to get a scholarship here? How likely is WashU to match? When/how should I approach emailing WashU financial aid about matching the scholarship?

I would wait for financial aid from WashU. I suspect scholarships will go out late February for applicants accepted in December.

It never hurts to attempt to leverage a scholarship from a different school to get better aid, but a T30 is not a peer-institution of WashU, so they might not be receptive to such advances.

Regarding the MSTP, to confirm, if we don't hear back for this 1/20 decision date, does that mean we are not accepted to the MSTP?

This is exactly what I'm wondering. Their website states February is the last day for decisions (Timeline - Medical Scientist Training Program) but I cannot tell if they made a decision on everyone who interviewed. On CycleTrack I only see two waves of A's that came out (December and now in January). The reported A's on December were significantly higher than those reported for now, so it might be that those are the A's for both the October and November interview dates. For this wave, I if someone confirms they received an A from a November interview it may be possible for applicants who interviewed before January to receive acceptances in the next wave.

Looking at previous threads I could not find anything for the 23-24 cycle, but for 22-23 it seems that they promptly inform students who are accepted or add them to a waitlist by February (** 2022-2023 MD/PhD Acceptances **). They also appear to delay rejecting students they are not interested in (*** 2022-2023 MD/PhD Rejections ***).

So for this cycle October+November interviews were notified in December, and December was notified on 1/16 as far as I can tell. If anyone has more information, please correct me.

Thanks for the info. I interviewed in the last group (12/19-12/20) and vaguely recall them stating that the 1/20 date was the second and final wave of As.

It would have been nice if they were more transparent with decisions by informing us if we are on hold, waitlisted, or unfortunately rejected. It might be true that is the last day but I've had experience with other MSTP's giving us dates on the interview and not abiding by that timeline at all. Regardless, I am wishing you the best this cycle!

I was in the same interview group and the director mentioned they would evaluate our files on 1/15 or 1/16 (can't remember which), and then send it to the MD program for approval. He then said he doesn't know how long they would take for that. I guess, if anyone who interviewed in that session can let us know if they've already gotten an acceptance (12/19,12/20)

April 4-5th - there is an important dates page on the acceptance portal for some things, but it doesn’t have a lot more details

I have a question. The week of my interview, I accidentally joined the dean's session 10 minutes late because my bus had broken down. Do you think this might have had some bearing on my decision?
