What is the thank you letter process, post-interview?

I’m convinced these are a complete waste of time.

I remember listening to an adcom online who said that a students file is closed right after interview and nothing sent after does anything but clutter an inbox.

It’s just polite to do, your interviewers took time out of their busy schedules to be there (especially the students).

I had access via the AMP portal for I think a whole week before the interview, including interviewer names, etc.

I’m able to see it now, thank you!

I’m likely close to double your age and spent the last two decades as a business executive (5 years of which I was president of a company that ran a licensed school). I learned to dislike people cluttering my inbox with platitudes. Especially when I’ve interviewed 50 people that week and know i’m going to get clobbered.

I would avoid over generalizing, I enjoy getting the non generic thank you’s for grad school apps and know current medical students at my school and others who feel the same. It’s nice for them to know they are doing well and their time is valued. They are mostly volunteer and could be doing anything else but choose to help you and other applicants.

Everyone should do what they feel is best.

Even if it is a waste of time and effort, and will result in nothing but “delete email”.

As @MasterOogway said, the Oct 15th deadline is for regular decision acceptances. Regular decision IIs have already been going out here and at other programs since August.

I wouldn't worry about it, Wayne has a low yield rate of below 50%. You can expect most of the applicants they are giving interviews and A's to won't be attending.

Hey everyone! I am about to submit their secondary (I know, I know, I'm super late in the cycle! 🙈 We had a military PCS right during the start of the cycle, and I had a pending MCAT retake...which I improved 7 points from my first attempt, yay! 🥳)

My question is: Does anyone know how Wayne State goes about implementing their 20-credit policy? I have over 60 BCPM credits with a 3.95, but my undergrad was *ahem* abysmal.

Do we need to notify them, or will they see this when reviewing my coursework? I would hate to get screened out because I failed to inform them about the post-bac credits, if I'm supposed to do so. (I don't see anywhere on their policy page or secondary portal about needing to notify, so I don't think I need to, but, you know, measure twice, cut once.)

For reference, I am SUPER non-trad, I graduated undergrad 13+ years ago, and attended a few different schools, so my transcripts don't exactly follow a smooth path.

If it helps, I was verified in July and got the secondary in early/mid Aug.

I submitted to them 9/16 and received a secondary on 9/17. Maybe check spam?

They screen for residency and criminal history, so unless you're international or have a criminal record, I believe you should receive the secondary. (Someone correct me if I'm mistaken but that's what it states on MSAR)

Quick question about the campus tour... I submitted the online form to attend a tour next week but haven't received any information regarding details (where to meet, contact names, etc). Did you receive this information as the tour date approached? The only response I've received so far is the automated "Thank you for your submission." after I submitted the online form. Appreciate any insight you have!
