StardeWW Valley - GAME THREAD

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Shelty unwolfed me. If you could vote today, where would you have voted? Am curious
If you mean D2 vote. Probably would have stuck with sporty. I haven’t finished catch up. But AtE burned me last game so I likely would’ve ignored it. I wish I could say I saw kdswg being wolfy but nope. Happy to be wrong. I will pull on that thread and see where it leads for D3

Well yes, but I highly doubt AM is an OG wolf because she voted kdswg this evening and that would be bussing, which she is apparently very adamantly against.
Yeah. And apparently cubs should be fairly clear. Maybe zenge.

I still don’t feel great about WZ or PSV. Back to catch-up reading

Every time I mention a read it's been rejected, which is fine and part of the game, but I can't yeet no one and I don't like the sporty vote. Not confident enough on kdswg to yeet there either. I feel like there's a wolf hiding in the major vets (genny, zenge, WZ, AM, BLL) and I'm currently hovering on AM. I don't want to sound like an oversensitive noob but if no matter who I yeet people are going to tell me I'm wrong I may as well go where the wind takes me.
Anyway, I'm not expecting her to get yoten today so if someone she's been pushing, like kdswg, winds up flipping wolf, that'll solve the AM situation for me and I'll focus on someone else.
Wow! I’m considered a major vet now!!!!
Okay, but what if this is a good point. I'm not trying to burn time outside the POE. I'm trying to catch wolves and it's frustrating to be shut down whenever you venture a theory. I'm recalling how Bob has twice thrown shade at things I've said as being similar to something he'd said when wolfing in the past and I don't like it, plus I think flipping Bob would be beneficial to refine POEs. I'm not afraid to revisit you later, though.
So then I'm going to unyeet AM
Yeet Bob
Hmmmm

I've gotten into a bad habit of last minute panic waffling, so I want to lock my vote in now. Does anyone have a compelling reason why I shouldn't vote to yeet Bob? He's in several people's POE's, so I don't think I'm doing something crazy here.

Unyeet PSV
Yeet Bob
Oh my! I had no idea I was in grave danger!!!
Swear to god Zenge if you get me misyeeted in the last 10 minutes of a day when I've been here and posting for 34+ hours I will never forgive you
This is almost exactly what April said as her packmate. Jus sayin
If kdws does flip village, I'm going to Bob. I didn't like the sudden influx of activity when he was in danger.
This makes more sense now. But all that activity wasn’t for me. I wasn’t in wolf chat which I would’ve been as a wolf (you have seen me as a wolf). And kdswg flipped wolf. Plus. Kdswg is way less likely to jump on my vote if I’m a packmate (I didn’t realize I was that close to getting yeeted). I guess I could’ve self prez for all they knew.

So a wolf didn’t move to my wagon to save their packmate….? So they were already on mine or they didn’t want to draw the scrutiny.

That leaves POE:
PSV (most wolfy)
Truey
Sporty
WZ
Oats
Zenge (least)
My thought process is if kdswg flips village it's a good idea to look at the people who voted her off and see what their reasoning is, and then probe deeper into the people who have mediocre reasons. Villager misyeets happen but if someone has a measly justification then it's worth investigating them instead of analyzing the people voting for players whose affiliations we don't yet know.
This is the only thing that makes me uncertain about PSV. A packmate would know kdswg was about to flip wolf…

Preemptive warning that I will need to post this write up in multiple sections, so I will post a message immediately beforehand requesting that no one post until the final part of the write up (the part that says IT IS NOW DAY 3) so that the pieces stay together.

But the forum is currently telling me the writeup isn't a valid message at all, so it may be a bit while we negotiate.

Night 2

"Perhaps we're connected by an other-wordly thread?"

Spirits were high in Stardew Valley. After all, they'd caught one of the culprits responsible for the disappearances, and the valley felt just a little bit safer.

Everyone was settling into a routine. Lively discussions with their fellow townsfolk during the day, and gently tending to their crops at night. Some people planted what they liked to eat. Others decided to build a parsnip empire. All had the goal of finally being able to afford a new farming tool from the general store, or that shiny prismatic shard - everyone wanted to support their local business, but man, sometimes those prices made people understand why big box stores were able to lure people in.

--------------------------------------------
There were a few residents who had taken the parsnip economy by storm, filling their plots with seeds, all with the end goal of having the most money. One in particular was known for having ... large farms. Some would call them factory farms. It was surprising that he could farm so successfully when he didn't even have arms. He stepped back after planting his final parsnip seed and admired the neat gridwork of his crops. Pleased with himself, he chuckled, thinking of all the items he'd be able to buy once his monopoly on the Stardew economy was complete. He turned to head inside when suddenly, he saw a strange light approaching. It was too fast for him to understand what was happening before the light smashed into his head.

--------------------------------------------

He had always wanted the best for this town. He resided in the community center, and during the nights, when no one saw him, he was fixing things up, using the townsfolk's love for their surroundings to help make it a better place. When an important member of the community died, he knew he needed to step into their place. The town needed him, after all. He'd done his best, though he never knew if his efforts were successful or not. He was on his way back to the community center to get some rest after another night watching out for the town residents, when he paused. Perhaps he needed to think things through a little more, decide on the optimal farming strategy. He'd think it over while deciding what to do next for the town, who would need his help the most next.

They say that you shouldn't go towards the light, but he wasn't thinking about that. It was dark, who wouldn't head toward the light? And then the light, that curious light that he wanted to investigate, put his lights out.

--------------------------------------------

In the morning, the residents met for their usual town hall, and noticed that some people were missing. They went out to look for them - perhaps they were sleeping in. Searching everywhere, they found no evidence of the people they were looking for. They wandered over near the abandoned mine cart tracks - no one had been there in ages - and noticed that it smelled like ... strawberries? Wrinkling their noses slightly, they walked on, and stumbled across the most horrifying variant of the trolley car problem yet. Because in this version, they were too late to save anyone.

It is now Day 3. Vote closes at 9pm EST (8pm CST/6pm fantasyland) on Monday, 2/7/2022.

It is the final day of Spring.

Zenge was someone I assumed would be a candidate for conversion, along with genny and maybe Dubz because she enjoys wolfing. Genuinely surprised AM wasn't a nightkill choice. I assume he and Cubs had good plays and were widely village-read so they got the axe.

1. These write-ups are wonderful, I really enjoy reading them

2. Oh CRAP they got two kills. Unless one was a vigilante?

3. Since kds wasn't a converter we should still be wary for the chance of a conversion, right?
Mods could always be messing with us by having an anti-converter and no wolf converter, but I don't see that as the likeliest scenario

I read the writeup 3 times and reread last night's too and don't see anything hinting at conversion so I'm still not really gonna think about it at this stage.

Idk, there was a game last year with unconvertable masons and no conversion mechanic in the game, so I guess I see it just as likely as anything else.

I think I've also been in a wolf pack that had a ninja wolf in a game where there was no tracker lol

Conversion isn't always tied to one particular wolf role btw

So what I'm hearing is, I should assume the mods are just as cruel and conniving as the wolves 😂

*Big sigh* as the Bene Gesserit would say: "a feint within a feint, within a feint, within a feint..."

Oh weird, how does that work? Like, the whole wolfpack has shared powers or abilities?
It can be a faction ability just like the night kill. So any wolf can do it. It also can be tied to a particular wolf, we see that less often though.

...I feel like all of my answers about game mechanics amount to "it depends" and "anything can happen" but that's just how it is

Based on these prioritizing interaction analysis with Bob and stoat. Will have to look at the timing of the d1 PSV vote, not sure if bussing can be ruled out for her. I'll look at True too for completeness but I don't think he's a wolf.

What am I yelling for?

Oh I thought you would yell at me for not doing my homework. Or for bothering to look at interactions.

what if it's stoat and true? the way they keep village reading each other is making me uneasy.

I mean, it could be, clearly I am not the best at reading nooblets, I just really hit some mental blocks with understanding some things stoat has done from a wolf perspective, and True doesn't feel any different from my dead chat buddy last game. Does he seem different to you?

No, not really. But i don't know what a wolf True looks like yet, so i don't know how different that would look from the usual.

Wolf True would soft being a villager as elegantly as he softed being a bomb

So I'm village reading for now

HAHAHA YESSSS

I have been resisting the temptation to be like "or we could be co-wolves!" On so many of True's posts or other's posts casting us as exclusive options. I've been channeling the urge into role PM. Now my self restraint is freed!

I guess this is a bit of the Glibness problem from D&D- you can always be better at lying, but it's hard to be "better" or more effective at telling the truth.

From my perspective, it's clear that we're both village reading each other because we know each other really well and we're both village. But from the outside, I see why that wouldn't look terribly different than us being wolves and covering for each other.

Are there specific things I've said or done that have bothered you? I feel like I've been doing a good job providing helpful analysis and attempting to go after Wolfy targets.
