Ah. Not 100% sure if secondary threads quite like this exist for past years, as these seem to be a Shemarty special. Perhaps they do exist, but in a different format. But I'm under the impression that past years weren't as neurotic as we seem to be.

The reason I did it this year was because it didn't exist before. Someone would make a thread with a random title asking some trivial question about a school, the thread would be hijacked, and it'd turn into the main discussion thread for that school... never to be found by applicants the next cycle because the titles weren't standardized and they were never indexed anywhere.

2009-2010 is too disorganized in my opinion, so you will have to contract your amazing services to them for an exorbitant fee.

Mine was 9:10 am pacific time, but I imagine it varies a ton. Good luck!
Nice. Do you have any insight on when we'll hear back? I'm a little nervous about a long wait due to the fact that it was mentioned that the director of admissions takes a February vacation.

Ahhhh...waitlist. Definitely sucks. For those who have also been waitlisted, did you send a letter of interest back right away?
My letter got sent home (I am at school), so I don't have it in front of me, but I think it mentions something about April being a better date to contact them?
Also, does anyone know how responsive Hopkins is to letters this early in the waitlist process?

if you don't mind me asking, when did you interview? did they get back to you at around the time you expected based on what they said at the interview.
if it makes you feel any better, more than half of the MS2 students i met while i was at Hopkins got in off the waitlist 🙂 but they don't start pulling from the waitlist until june 1 =/ good luck!
I interviewed on 01/09, and the waitlist letter arrived at my house (MA) on 02/09. About a month, so in line with what they told me the wait would be.
Do most schools wait until June to start pulling off the waitlist?

do they send an email about waitlists/rejections too (i know acceptances are via phone)? i interviewed 1/16, so i'll probably be finding out tomorrow. just not in town for a while and have no access to snail mail.
As far as I remember from interview day, they said waitlists/rejections were only by snail mail. but I could be getting confused.
So it seems that most people are hearing back within a month. I interviewed late January and was told we would hear back in March. Do you think this means early early March? (as in exactly a month later) or closer to the March 15 deadline for schools to have offered enough spots to fill their class? Anyone have any insight on this?
I ask because I'm going to be out of the country for the first week of March and I'll be going crazy wondering if I've missed a call!!! If someone could put me out of my misery I'd really appreciate it!
Hey! I interviewed during the second full week of Jan and I'm pretty sure they said that we'd hear back the first week in March. I'm guessing if you interviewed late jan you'll probably hear later (since people who interviewed the first week of Jan have already heard back....they don't seem to be doing it by month). My guess is that they're done...but you can always try calling or sending an update letter. Either way, good luck!!
I interviewed Feb. 6th and haven't heard anything yet. I have a note written down that it will take 6-8 weeks before we hear anything. Posters above have had acceptances and rejections within a month, though, so I'm thinking anytime now.
I interviewed in the middle of January and I still haven't heard anything (no call, no letter). It makes me wonder if they'll look at Jan and early Feb people together?

It seems that theres a few people from middle of Jan including myself who haven't heard back. Maybe they're reviewing all of us at the same time?

Haha, good stuff, man. My friend who interviewed last year around the end of January didn't hear back until the end of March, so I'm giving it a few more weeks before I harass the admissions office. Just trying to do everything but think about it, you know? (which is somewhat undermined by my writing this message, but whatever) It's amazing, I finally could use video games and my other vices for something useful, and they all seem inadequate. Oh well, good luck to you, dude, I remember thinking everyone from that interview day was pretty chill, so I sincerely hope everything works out for you.
So are you guys faxing in your tax forms to Hopkins even though we haven't been accepted yet? I ask because the priority deadline is this the 15th of March...so what are we supposed to do? I remember reading that you're only supposed to send forms to places that have accepted you, but I can't remember where I read that. I sent an email to the financial aid office (I would have called but forgot my phone at home today), but haven't heard anything. You guys know?

I interviewed last week and they said to turn it in even if you haven't been accepted yet so they can prepare everything in a timely fashion should you end up going there.
Interviewed 2/6 and haven't heard anything. Any January people get news?

I interviewed February 20th and they said that we wouldn't hear anything until April, so I would guess that the people who interviewed early February probably won't hear anything until next week or maybe even the first week of April.

You and me both, amigo. Please keep in mind, however, this is not much more than speculation. I think I've read of people who interviewed together but received news at different times. I'm going to assume that's the case until I hold that vile little piece of mail in my hand.
