I would expect the next adcom meeting to be around the 17th of next month. Also, remember that many people have "got in" despite not getting "the call" in the first wave of calls that followed their interview date.

So you are saying that when "the call" goes out, they don't get through everyone on the list?

I think what XT means is for applicants not to be disappointed if they don't get the call in the month of their interview. Many people have gotten calls a few months down the line... For example, some have interviewed in December and only got their acceptance calls in February or March.

My speculation would be that whenever the adcom meets, they not only look at the new interviewees but take a look at the previous applicants as well and make a decision on which ones suit the school better.

I don't think I am saying anything that specific. I am just saying that based on past application seasons, you can still get "the call" even if you haven't yet got "the call" while other that interviewed with or after you have. You will likely have to wait at least a month (from now) for it though.

hmm is it also that each wave is for the previous months interviewees? e.g. the feb calls were for jan interviewees and the march calls were for the feb interviewees. because it sounds like a lot of people who interviewed in jan got the call in feb.

Okay, I got what you are saying. The adcom may get to some applicants before others, even those who interviewed at the same time as I did. So since I interviewed in early March, expecting a call in March may have been a stretch, and if I do get "the call," it is more realistic that I would hear in April or later. Correct?

hmm yeah i think march interviewees were the last batch correct? so we may not hear until late

I am pretty sure we were the last batch, I remember reading that somewhere on the forum, or maybe they said that on the interview day. Anyway, I am hoping to hear sooner than later. Loma Linda seems like the perfect fit.

hmm does anyone know if you call the admissions office and ask for your status if they will tell you?

Congrats imacanadian! when did you interview?

I interviewed 2/3, CA resident, Christian, non-SDA

anyone know how long it takes for them to send materials by mail after you get the call? I've been gone on a trip for Spring Break and was expecting it when I got back today...perhaps it takes em a week or so 😛

Congrats imacanadian! I read that you got your interview on the 3rd February. I got mine on the 6th though. So its been 6+ weeks so far.
Any insights? I am standing in your old shoes. So I know that you can feel what I am going through. I hope you read the thread or anyone who has the same case as mine and he got THE CALL.
Thanks guys.

I am still waiting to hear back about an interview invite. I called the office today and they said that a letter had been sent to me. Does Loma Linda give interview invites by mail, or should I be expecting a rejection?

I interviewed 3/3. Anyone who interviewed around that time heard anything???? I'm getting nervous 🙁 🙁

hmmm i think the adcom will be meeting the middle of the month? so calls are going out april 17 maybe? anyone else know? (i interviewed on 3/3 too and am still waiting)

Has anyone sent a Letter of Interest post-interview? If so, to whom did you send it to? Thanks

I was actually just going to write one today, hoping that it gets there before the next adcom meeting and that it impacts their decision. It probably won't but no harm in trying, right?

does anyone know if there have been rejections or placements on waitlists post-interview yet? or is all this revealed after april 30th?

has anyone gotten an acceptance without getting "the call"?

Does anyone know when the admissions committee will be meeting? I'm pretty sure it will be this week but wondered what day. I sent an LOI last Friday and I want to make sure it gets to them in time.

i think the committee normally meets on a thursday.

has anyone received anything in the mail this week? I called Monday and was told that a letter has been mailed out. Is that pretty much a rejection letter?

hmm so i just called the admissions office and they said that the admissions committee is no longer meeting. can anyone verify this?

Just checked my mail today for any waitlist/reject letter since it seems like some of those have gone out and thankfully no mail from LLU. I live very close to the school so I'd probably be one of the first to get a letter if that was in my cards... Hang in there guys! I hope we all get the call on Friday.

wendster did you call the admissions office? They said that the adcom was not meeting anymore :/

No, I didn't call the admissions office. I guess if they are done meeting then we either get the call this week or the non-accept letter. I interviewed about 6 weeks ago, so I didn't really expect any sort of decision until now.

It sounds like a lot of us are still waiting to here.. and those of us from the late feb/early march interview batches haven't heard a peep yet.

I called the admissions office and they told me that a decision had been made and a letter mailed. with no call, that makes me worried.

I just called but I think the office is on a lunch break. I'm nervous.. is "letter sent" a good thing or a bad thing? I'll try calling again in an hour.

did anyone get a letter from loma linda today? do they send them all out at the same time?

no, no call and no letter. though I did get a hold of someone in the office today too that said a letter was being sent to me too.

I got an acceptance letter dated April 9, so I guess that is when they last met in case anyone is wondering. The letter was sent on April 13. And I never got any call, at least not yet.

JustCallMeDoc where are you from? (e.g. how long did the letter take to reach you)?

My maillady comes in about 2 hours. I live in SoCal, so I will report on my letter status too. Congrats on getting in! It's good to hear that not all letters contain bad news.

wendster good luck! did the office tell you when they sent your letter?

has anyone called the admissions office and asked what their letter says? Just wondering if they will give the news over the phone.

My letter arrived: Alternate List. The wait continues...

It is dated 4/9.

I still have hope. There should be decent movement at LLU because of all the UC's and their instate tuition pricetag

yeah there is still hope. ahh this wait is killing me my mail doesn't come until 1 pm.

I called the LLU office and wasn't able to extract much info about the alternate list. The lady on the phone said "I won't disclose trends because trends won't make a difference for this year and I can't predict what students are going to decide to do this year"... I read the thread for LLU in 2006 and several people got off the alternate list in June and July. But I don't know how big or small the alternate list pool is. If somebody knows that info, please disclose!

Just talked to the office, they said a decision has been made and a letter sent yesterday. I'm in Idaho so nothing in the mail today. Hopefully it will get here by tomorrow. My wife and I are scheduled to drive back to LLU tomorrow so she can interview in the Dental Hygiene program. Dont' want to make the trip if I don't get in. We'd just go elsewhere where we can both go to school. I wish they'd just give information over the phone. :xf:

I live in Los Angeles and the letter took two days to get to me. So you should all be getting the letters soon.

i'm in the same boat as u.. just got the alternate list letter today... i guess more waiting

how do you look at the past threads (e.g. from 2006 and 2007 application cycles?)
