Hi pentadoc--yes--doing the maine track--are you?

I think it will be a really interesting program and MMC seemed like a really great place to train... interested to know what others who are considering the program thought...

I'm Traditional MD track here, though I thought the main track seemed really interesting. I'll definitely be there in fall though, is anyone doing a second visit with a current TUSM student?

I was extremely impressed by MMCs facilities and everyone's enthusiasm about the program. The big downside I see is having to commute back and forth to Maine every two weeks for the first two years...that sounds really draining! But they do seem very willing to work with the incoming class to make it run as smoothly as possible, so I guess I shouldn't worry too much about it. Your thoughts? Are you from ME?

Agree that the MMC facilities seemed nice and the enthusiasm for the program was definitely addictive--just really appreciated how much thought has been put into the program thus far...all their work looking at other rural programs, considering how to balance Boston/Maine training, etc...

I think it would be great to have such a small group experience with the other folks doing the Maine track--I really liked everyone I met on my interview day.

I'm not from ME, but grew up very near by...how about you?

I completely agree, and can't imagine a better place to do clinicals at. I feel like we'd get so much experience! Everyone was extremely nice at the interview! I am from ME. :xf::xf::xf:

:luck::luck::luck::luck:

Shnuffles--hope you are able to hear soon! Looks like I interviewed about a month before you so hopefully you'll hear soon after x-mas. 🙂

damn you tufts, you're no better than the UCs

(still awaiting a decision pre-interview.....)

thank you! congratulations again, and i hope to see you next fall!

Also loved MMC! They are gonna have really nice simulation centers too! And the emergency medicine tour guide was uber-excited!

Interviewed first week of December, still waiting for good news!

for those of you who've been accepted (also those who've been granted interviews) - do you mind sharing your basic stats? mdapps seems to be down and i just want a realistic gauge of what to expect 🙁

3.88 cGPA

how it helps 🙂

These are great stats! But don't be discouraged if you don't match them. I think my interviewer at Tufts said that the average GPA is 3.6 and the average MCAT is 33.

My stats:

3.94 cGPA
3.96 BCPM
31P MCAT

cGPA: 3.5
BCPM: 3.25
MCAT: 34R

Accepted pretty early to dual degree. Don't worry!! Numbers aren't everything (obviously in my case!) :luck:

WOW nina congratulations! i really want to get an interview here, i'm interested in tufts but no luck yet. still holding out hope though!

haha un equited love is tough mdic, gotta stick through it. hope tufts will notice us soon.

So late last month I received an E-mail from the Dean telling all who interviewed in the first week of december to expect mail from Tufts on the week of January 5th. Well, its that week and I am super nervous. Are they sending snail mail to those who are rejected?? If I am already set to be rejected, why would the dean of the med school bother to send me (and all others set to be rejected) an E-mail? I don't know what to make of it, am I looking too much into this? Anyone else receive that E-mail?

Hope I don't get rejected...pretty much my top choice.

I got this "We expect to be mailing letters by the end of this week to all applicants who interviewed with us in October.

Please be sure your mailing address is the correct address for us to use for a letter sent at this time.

Then I got accepted via phone call 4 days later! Good luck!!!!!!!!! :luck::xf::luck:

Anyone who gets accepted and definitely is going lemme know. I want to get to know my future classmates 😛

Yes, I got this email too. Mine said that we'd hear something between Jan 6-9? It smelled like a mass email, so I'm not reading anything into it. I'm extremely anxious to hear, though, and have been having rejection nightmares for awhile though lol😛 good luck to everyone!!!:xf::xf::xf::xf::xf:

For those of you who interviewed - if you haven't already - will you please post your interview feedback on SDN 🙂. It is super helpful for those of us preparing!

Umm, bad news. Placed in Active Consideration. The letter said many come off of Active Consideration (which is not a waitlist), but I smell a rejection. Seems like AC people have to wait until the end of the interview season (May 15). I really liked the school though. 🙁

2 of my best friends were placed on AC last year. Both were waitlisted and eventually accepted (one in June, one in August). So don't be too down. :xf:

I interviewed in mid december and I also just got an email today saying that I was under "active consideration." Atleast it isn't a rejection.

Same...definitely disappointed.

is tufts still giving out interviews?

So all of us got ACed? Maybe the news aren't that bad after all. And the E-mail did say don't feel discouraged as most people make it in. 👍

Do you know when he/she was complete?

He was complete in late September, I think....

Also, I just checked the interview calendar and there are still 7 interview days left (all in March). So Tufts definitely has some more invites to give. Good luck!! :luck:

Edit: 7 interview days that have OPEN spots.

Could you share what his stats are? Just trying to get a feel for what's to come... (or not come)..

To be honest, I'm not sure of his stats. I know he had a 32 MCAT, and an "ok" gpa. (Probably around 3.6 or so?) The only thing is, he's from Tufts undergrad, and they do tend to favor their own for interviews...

But on the bright side, I just looked at the calendar again and 6/7 interview days in March are still open. So hopefully you'll fill one of those slots!

Does their interview season end in March or April?

It's been one day and 1/7 spots filled up! haha. sigh..

By the way, how do you know there are these spots left? Not sure if this is just public information somewhere or if you're at Tufts already..?

The last interview day is March 31. (I can't type today, sorry guys.)

So the way Tufts works is they send you an interview invitation, but you get to choose the day online. There is just a calendar that tells you every day there is a slot left. (They don't tell you how many slots are open per day.) I've already been accepted, but the calendar is still on my status page, so I can keep checking, haha.

Woo-hoo! lol, but seriously, I think your spot goes to people still interviewing. Those who are ACed will remain so until the end of the interview session I think.

got an interview invite today, so they're still handing them out.

Nice job ami1983!! Thats must feel so nice!! I hope I'm one of the fortunate ones to get an interview too. This school would be so sweet to go to. Good luck on your interview!!!

I just called them today for a status update because I've been complete with them since the beginning of September and was starting to wonder if I'd missed a piece of mail or email. She said they were still reviewing my file. 😱 So I said, "Um.... what does that mean, exactly?" She laughed (she was great, btw), and said, "Interviews are conducted until the end of March, and interview invites are sent by email. You should be getting something by the end of February."

Hmmm... an email, maybe?

But I found this conversation illuminating, and thought I'd share.

She didn't say I would be getting an invite, per se. However, she didn't say I wouldn't be, either. I'm guessing, though, that if the last interview is sometime in March, they would HAVE to send out an email by February to give a person some time to book a ticket. A rejection could come at any time, right? So, I, ever the optimist, am hopeful that this means I'll be getting an interview. This hope is more a function of the way my brain works than any actual facts, however.

I wish you luck, though! :luck: Has anyone been rejected from here yet?

i don't think anyone has been rejected yet... but me too i'm hoping for the best 🙂 and for some 😍

Has anyone withdrawn their application post-acceptance and post-deposit? I am not going to attend Tufts and would like to open up my seat for another applicant. Is there an official form for withdrawing?
