With all the theories floating around you'd think that AMCAS would ask for more than just a one-page application that says "insert GPA", "insert MCAT score", "Sign and Date"... ooohh wait...

hahahahaha

so much win in that post

Just got my first rejection! And it only took 3 weeks from completion of secondary. Oh well, at least they're quick about things, it's good to know that schools are actually looking at my application.

For those that are wondering, I have high stats but I'm a bit low on the experiential side, so I definitely would not consider myself "overqualified."

Has anyone been rejected after waiting it out for 2 months? From reading the thread, it would seem like everyone who has waited that long received an interview invite and rejections came earlier. Is that how BU works? (I hope so - been waiting for 2 months!)

I was wondering the same thing...complete since 8/7 (OVER 2 months) and STILL nothing!! hmm....

Being the cheap bum I am, I'm trying to schedule some interviews and contemplating to wait until January for some other schools in hopes that if I get accepted here or Vermont that I won't take those interviews. Or is this just a ******ed strategy?

PS Official word on dark beige 80s suits... acceptable for interviews? haha

It's totally a good idea. I have to make 3 trans-continental flights within 1 month. So that's the smart strategy. Just be aware that you don't burn-out when traveling between all the interviews, because it can get really stressful.

I like dark beige. Too many guys wear just a plain black suit and a solid white shirt. I think that there should be some color to give you life since you actually are a person with personality. Just make sure that it's not too ostentatious.

Good luck on your interviews.

it's better if you interview before january because BU is nonrolling and they have 2 acceptance dates: january and march. If you interview before january, they'll review your app on january and if you didn't get accepted, they'll review your app again in march. So basically you have 2 chances, whereas if you interview after january, you'll get 1 chance.

yeah. i probably will just admit defeat and do the interview @ temple in December... hoping that jefferson and drexel get off their butts and decide by that point whether they'll extend an interview as well.

Also, Dr. Witzburg made it clear that very few people get straight acceptances in the January round. So I wouldn't hold my breath.

For all those complete-in-early-August-waiting-for-two-months-haven't-heard-anything folks, have you heard anything? Any update from early August complete folk? :scared:

I got denied an MSTP interview (complete 7/23) and was 'under consideration' for MD-only 9/23. Guess my file went all the way back to the bottom of the stack. haha

I am in your shoe. Completed Aug 11th and absolutely no news. I really want BU but I don't want to keep too high of a hope just on the fact I haven't been rejected yet.

I was complete 9/22 and got the 30 day email today. I guess it is good news?!?! I see that some people who were complete around or after I completed my application have been rejected already. Who has been invited for interview or knows of invites complete around the same time as me?

Anyone interviewing on Oct 28th that wants to split a hotel room on Oct. 27th?

Rejected today, complete late August. i thought I was ok because my wait time had been so long...

The interviews are pretty free-form, so there's no guaranteed questions except for one ethical ques, and why BU. But you should have those prepped anyway.

can anyone post a link to get to the student host list?

ive been searching the web for the last 10 minutes... 😴

okay... so i dont know. i didnt receive the 60 day email and the 90 day "sorry to keep you waiting" email that i think they send out eh?

congratulations riss!! must have written some pretty amazing essays there!!! just noticed that i was complete 17/8... guess that probably means bad news for me... not gonna check the app site, just gonna be disappointed. meh.

oh ok.. but ya it is been a long time.. And the frustrating thing is that the my status on the BU website only says that I'm complete.. it doesnt even say that I'm under review or anything like that. :scared:

HAHAHA!

but seriously though don't think cause complete one day before me that you're rejected! we are all looked at separately as individuals at all schools. apps are continuously reviewed and re-reviewed and people get interviews for schools as late as March! Try to stay positive!

What is the best/cheapest way to get from Logan Airport to Boston proper? I'm looking for some type of shuttle/public transportation that will drop me off in the city and allow me some time to walk around for a bit the day before my interview.

my friend who went to school in boston says there's a subway line from the airport...hopefully isn't too bad to figure out.

boston would be fun to walk around for a day.

I went to grad school at BUSM, so I'll offer the easiest/cheapest way to get from Logan -> South End Campus. Catch the Silverline (SL1 or SL2) bus from the airport ($2.00, pay inside/get Charlie Card), take this bus to South Station. From South Station, transfer to the SL4 Silverline and take this to Newton St stop (a block from campus). Or, you can walk downtown/take Red line to Silverline (SL5). Transfers are free and I think that $2 beats $35 in bad cab fare.

Wow, Boston transportation sounds confusing, but its not so bad 🙂

how long does it generally take after the secondary has been completed/finalized per BUSM and being notified of an interview?
