Did they mention how many interviewees get acceptance offers?
No, they did not. If anyone has MSAR they could look it up. I don't have my copy with me, but I'm curious as to what the % is so if someone has a copy and could look it up, that'd be awesome!
For anyone that's interested this is how their application process works [copied from the memorandum they gave us, but slightly edited]:
The admissions process at Tulane consists of three stages. The first stage, now completed, was the one in which you were selected for an interview. Of approximately 7,000 applicants last year, only 500 applicants were invited for interviews...obviously, you are part of the small, invited group who will now get a full review by the Committee...
The second stage of the admissions process will begin after you have completed your interview day. Your application, with reports added from each of your interviewers, will go before the Admissions Committee...This stage of the process generally takes three weeks for completion.
A minimum of five members of the Committee will read your entire application very carefully and there may be some open discussion of the application with the Committee as a whole. Each person who reads your application will rate it on a 10 point scale. The average of the scores is considered your "priority rating"...While emphasis is placed on your personal qualities during this second stage, we never neglect your academic credentials...
Applicants whose average score is equal to or greater than six are considered to be in our acceptable range; they will advance to the third stage. Regrettably, no further consideration can be given to candidates whose average rating falls below six.
The final stage is the actual selection of the class. At the end of each weekly meeting, the Admissions Committee will decide to whom to send a letter of acceptance. Letters will be mailed weekly, beginning in mid-October. Those applicants not selected for acceptance, but ranked within our acceptable range, will be notified by email of their status. While most moverment from our acceptable range list will occur during the month of May, it is possible for the Committee to decide to move someone from that list to acceptance anytime during the admissions cycle.
