i have a quick question im a junior in high school. i have heard that students at ucr will not get useful from the thomas haider program anymore? is it true?
also what major did u take?

well thanks for ur help, btw u said their is still 24 seats available, which med schol are those seats available for? So ur sayin that their is no more of going to ucla directly from ucr?

my last question how do you think the ucr med school will turn out?

okay, so maybe i shouldn't have said that...but i'm 75% positive that once the UCR med school opens up there will be no more going to UCLA ( i heard it from a source, however, it was NOT an official announcement)...it just makes sense too, cuz why would you need the UCLA bridge if you got a med school right there? But yea, what i'm guess is that once UCR med opens up, the THOMAS HAIDER PROGRAM will still be there, but the change is that they reserve 24 seats into the UCR med school.

I think the UCR med school will turn out great, since they have the Haider program as a foundation. They will prolly use the same professors. The only thing that is up in the air right now is the last 2 years of the medical school. I don't know if their clinical years will be good or not...but definitely the first 2 years will be good.

what gpa does students usually graduate with for the students who had made the thomas haider program

hey do you have info about ucr's new upcoming med school? do you think it would build good reputation in couple years?

hey haider how about hooking me up with a sweet birthday present this wednesday and letting me in!

There was an article online that was talking about UCR's new med school. It was scheduled to open for 2012, but we're lacking $40 million or something to build it. Since cali is in debt, we cant get the money from the state, so I think the med school is on hold or something. I won't count on it opening up in fall 2012.

if thats the case, then will ucr continue their previous program (which is accepting 24 students annually to get in ucla's med school
)

Yes, I believe so. From what I've heard, they're going to sever the tie with UCLA once UCR opens its own med school/center, which isn't going to happen for at least another year or so. I'm kind of curious why there isn't a ucr/ucla thread in the 2010-2011 school specific discussions though. Maybe not a lot of people are applying this year?
