wait. taht gives me hope. are you guys west coast?

darn i dont know which coast im IN!!!!!!!

malaysian but canadian bachelors. where do i end up? north or west?

i dont think notsur is west coast, so i'm not convinced that's how they're making calls 😉

for the accepted, did the dean call you or did your interviewer call you? that may be more of a factor

Based off last year's thread, some people found out by getting called by their interviewers this time last year (Thursday, November 13th) and then on Saturday, November 15th, those people with calls + other people got updates on their home page on the application website (it said Congratulations!!! on the page when you log in, but the actual status page was the same).

My (completely speculative, based off nothing other than that thread) guess is that they've made decisions (independent of region) and some interviewers decided to call their interviewees with the good news, while others interviewers will wait and send out a letter or an email later (and maybe some won't do anything at all).

So acceptances aren't given out only on one day?
If so, I need to start praying......

Yeah, and only a handful are given out in November anyway, so people could hear back in December (another handful, I think) or January.

i think it's based on where your school is located
not where you are from--- at least that's what was said in last year's thread

when does their interview season end? (implied question: when do they stop giving invites?)

I hope so! At least that's what I'm going to tell myself so I don't start feeling bad.

This is what I noticed from last year's thread too. There's no way they could coordinate all the interviewers to call at the same time. :xf: :luck:

congrats to everyone who got accepted!

anyone know anything about calls today or is it basically over for this month? (it seems like they only called yesterday) i've just been staring at my phone all day, willing it to ring with some obscure area code. 😀

Considering last year, I'd say check your status page this weekend. (That's what I'm planning to do, at least:xf:) It sounds like it's kind of the interviewer's choice about whether or not to call?

Also, on my interview day, the guy who gave the info session made a really big effort to not say when we could expect to hear something (other than in April) and acted as though most of the decisions would be made in the spring. So I'm not too optimistic about good news for this weekend. But congrats to those of you who have heard something already--you must be extra special🙂

Accepted via status page! Midwest person, east coast school.

Me too!!!!!!!!!! ACCEPTED!!!

My cycle is now DONE- definitely attending here next year!!! 😍:soexcited::biglove:

my status page is the same, most likely im waitlisted.. as expected.

Congrats to you guys.

I could do it myself, but since multiple people seemed to have already checked last year's thread, I figured I'd save myself the effort and ask. Does anyone know if/when people who interviewed early heard back if they didn't get accepted in the first round of admissions?

Make sure you all check the home page of your WUMS Apply page- my home page says "congratulations on your acceptance", but if I click on application status it just shows the materials received and that my file is complete.

When did everyone who recently accepted have their interviews?

Does anyone know when the next East Coast committee meets? I interviewed on 11/12.

How does competition stack up amongst the regions. I'm from an East Coast school and I'm wondering if that puts me at a disadvantage.

nah being east coast doesn't put you at a disadvantage, but you interviewed literally 2 days ago so you might not hear for a while

the truth is for those of us who did not get any news via the status page, we could easily be accepted or waitlisted. In last years thread theres plenty of people who were accepted in dec/jan/feb regardless of where they go to college. Its really a waiting game. I guess in a month we can get hopeful again.

since when was washU an east coast school?

haven't you heard? global warming has made half the country slide off into the Atlantic-washu is now a beachfront party school

jk i think the above poster was referring to their home institution

i asked this before but i dunt tink anyone responded..

does washu reject post-interview?

if they do, would it be email or snail?

congrats everybody who got in!!!!

now... another bump for this question....

i wanna know whether i shud be waiting for a rejection letter...😕

No clue man. I wish they would just send a decision, but chances are they'll wait until their final class is set. that way they'll have the flexibility of pulling people off the waitlist should too few people lock in their spot by the spring. I could be completely wrong though, this whole process is making me sick.

I feel so stressed out by this entire process too. Do you think it would be too pushy to call the admissions office to ask or to email my interviewer?

since when was washU an east coast school?

Wash U folks sometimes refer to their institution as the "Harvard of the MidWest." Which reflects a certain degree of insecurity.

Harvard rarely refers to itself as the "Washington University of the East."

Of course, Harvard refers to "Dropping the H Bomb." Wash U is more humble. A great school, congratulations on your acceptances.

so i just called the admissions office. they were very nice but wouldn't really give me any specific information. they said you can get a rejection anytime after you interview and acceptances are sent out every so often

has wash u started sending out rejections or have they stopped sending interviews yet? anyone also know if there is a way to check on your status?

many thanks,

phialpha

lol i just got a call from the dean, *after* i got my acceptance packet by urgent mail today. 😀 he's so nice!

You could call the admissions office and ask if they send out rejection letters post-interview, since you would be calling anonymously. and be sure to post on here if you find out something!!

In the end, all these adcoms and staff are going to tell us is to wait. the stress is really insidious; i guess we'll just need to find things to keep ourselves occupied in the meantime. good luck 🙂

thanks bro. thats really cool.

i guess if its not updated that we are accepted, we would be better to assume a rejection letter than anything...

haha.. 😳

that is kind of disappointing.

i dont even know what to expect because ucsf's rejection letter must be floating in the wind for the past 3 months because it never got to me in canada...

if im going to be rejected, i hope the letter reaches me safe and sound 😀

Hey guys,
I recently received an interview invite but the December dates conflict with my final exam schedule and I also already have a December interview, so I'd prefer to interview in January. Would this be too late and put me at a disadvantage?

Thanks

it's rolling so earlier is better. how much better? hard to say...

Check the 2008-2009 thread, but if I remember correctly, I think acceptances mainly went out in November and then in the spring. So it seems to me January wouldn't make much of a difference compared to December. Of course, earlier is better, but I don't think it's a huge deal at this school.

Hey. I have a random question for those of you who have had an interview here and stayed in Olin Hall. Do they provide blankets and pillows to applicants staying in Olin? I'm flying in and would rather not have to fly all that stuff with me. Thanks!
