Does anyone remember the names of the people who spoke to us on interview day. There was a guy from finaid and there was some other woman, I don't remember her title but I think it might have been diversity affairs or something like that.

Hey guys,
Does Wash U have the policy where if you don't schedule an interview soon enough after the invite, you risk losing it altogether? I'm asking because I want to schedule for January but the office told me that they are only scheduling for December right now, so I want to wait until January dates are available.

Thanks

Just e-mail them a date or a week that you want in January. It's understandable if you have a valid reason.

And also...when did people who have acceptances interview? I interviewed mid October... :-/

Any chance anyone knows the answer to this question?

there are likely west coast acceptances, even if they aren't posting on this thread :-/

i'm not sure how adcoms work, but it would make sense to have one big ol' admitting committee that sends out acceptances, rather than have separate committees deciding on people from various geographical regions. (i know at some schools, they *do* have subcommittees, but these serve the purpose of forwarding on applicants to the overarching final-say committee.)

Still haven't heard anything about an interview. Complete last week of August. Seems like people that were complete after me have already had interviews. Does this mean they're putting me on hold to look at again later in their cycle? I think my MCAT might be a little low for here (35).

I've been complete since the last week of July. Does WashU send post-secondary rejections throughout the cycle?

So, if interviewed in early October and not accepted in November, unlikely to be accepted in the spring?

+1, wondering same thing.

If you check the 2008-2009 thread, I believe the majority of applicants were accepted in the spring, even those who interviewed early. From what I understand, Wash U just doesn't accept very many people in the fall and instead waits to accept most people later in the year. Don't give up!

Good luck! :luck: Wash U is AMAZING!!! 😍

So, this is somewhat funny. I interviewed in early October, and I sent a thank-you email the day after. So, my interviewer just emails me back tonight. Apparently, she just read my email. I guess it's possible that she simply decided to respond to all of her thank-you emails today.

Anyways, the interesting news is that she said that the admissions committee meets every 3 weeks. So I guess that means we have 2 more weeks before the next round of acceptances. I guess I won't worry about obsessively checking my Wash U status page for a while.

Is anyone here interviewing on Monday the 30th? I'm actually already moved into the dorms because I wanted to spend some time seeing St. Louis. I'm up on the 8th floor.. it's a great view but the big windows make it cold!!

Wow, good call. Maybe it's like a screening mechanism for the dumb pre-meds, huh? I had no idea that little square panel was for the heater!

Anyone who interviewed around 11/12 get a decision yet. I'm so eager to hear back (even tho I suspect it will be reject or wait list)

I think the next adcom meeting is on December 15th, so I bet the next round of acceptances will be shortly after that. 👍

Does anyone know if the granting of Olin Scholarships is given on a rolling basis? I really dont want to write this application essay during finals.

Invite! Wow I'm so excited!

Did you guys ever figure out why some people had to call in to schedule an interview and others could do the process online?

Also, I rummaged through the thread, but couldn't find applied, interviewed, accepted stats. Anyone know them?

3114 applied, 1156 interviewed, 346 were accepted, 122 enrolled

Awesome!!! Good luck! :luck: Wash U's great. 🙂

I just got an interview!!! So excited!!🙂

Could anyone tell me what the general schedule and times are for the interview day? Are there more than one round of interview times? I'm trying to schedule a date and December 15th is open, but I have a final the day before. The next interview dates after that are January 4th and 5th...Would it make any difference for me to interview early January rather than on December 15th? I want to interview asap because I feel like I'm already so late!!

Thanks!🙂

bannie being bannie again....

For those of you who went to the pizza dinner, what did they mean by casual dress? Are jeans appropriate, or should you look nicer than that?

super casual, jeans are appropriate

jeans are definitely fine. when i was there, the interviewees were dressed casually and the students were VERY casual - sweats, flip flops, etc.

I received an email invite at 11:34 pm on Friday ( Dec 4). I thought that was very weird.. I guess the committee works really hard this time of the year.

None of the dates for Dec were available so I had to choose one in Jan. Anyone else interviewing in Jan?

what's the weather like in st. louis? i hear it gets horribly humid during the summer. is that true?

eh, yeah, it gets pretty hot and humid mid july to mid august (90's, maybe pushes over 100 at the hottest), but it's certainly not unbearable. in fact, this past summer was not bad at all (stayed in the upper 70's-80's most of the summer)...although it was kind of an odd exception to the norm. spring, fall, and early summer are really nice and mild, though, and winter isn't bad...we get some ice and snow (but not very much), and temps are usually 20's/30's in the coldest months. if you like having a nice four-season variation, st. louis definitely offers that.

yay got an interview invite the other day! flying to st louis for Jan 5th interview...anyone else gonna be there?

Is there any thread that talks about school specific interview questions? Interview prep in general?

Hey, anyone know when the next admissions meeting will be, aka when they will send out next wave of acceptances?

Does the dorm room have wireless internet, or should you bring an Ethernet cable?

You can bring your own ethernet cable, or they'll ask you at the front desk when you check in if you need one
