Stipends will be funded by NIH training grants and University funds. Fellowship awards will be announced by end of April. The NIH appointment forms will be completed in May. The NIH "payback" provision requires you to spend time in biomedical research equivalent to this training period later in your career, e.g., senior research elective.
You must work fulltime on your research project for 2 months during the period of June 1 until classes start in August. No moonlighting. You must be employed on the first working day of the month to be on the payroll for that month. *The stipend is subject to social security and withholding taxes.
You are required to attend a seminar on research ethics in June, to present a poster on Poster Day in the fall, and to submit a written research report in the fall.
