CWRU is only stupid because it's so close to me, it knows I want to go there (I have meet with the med dean, admissions, ect ect - over several years though - last time I meet with anyone was two springs ago), and yet it hasn't invited me for an interview. I'm not talking about the students.Might I suggest not calling us stupid?🙁
Yeah, during the middle of the Case lunch, cyanide nudges me and says, "look at her necklace!" and we both cracked up but no one around us knew why. It was great to meet you all in person, Myuu, Auriga, and dntpanic.
I went into the Case interview with high expectations and did not come out disappointed. It seems like an awesome place to be a med student. I wish I could come back to see the DocOpera, though!
Great to meet you both too! And Isasmommy too! You seem like bright and cheerful people who'd make a great fit here.It was great meeting so many of you in person today and yesterday! vc7777, thanks for stopping by on Monday. I really enjoy meeting Mich alums everywhere I go. 😀 Auriga, I loved your eggplant necklace. Where did you even manage to find that?? crixx and I totally cracked up when we saw it from across the table.![]()
Agreed - I'm glad the interview day was happy for you. We try to make it as enjoyable as possible!I have been wondering that same thing and keep forgetting to ask.
I'm glad we were able to give you a better picture of what med school here could be like.![]()
It was great meeting so many of you in person today and yesterday! vc7777, thanks for stopping by on Monday. I really enjoy meeting Mich alums everywhere I go...but I was very pleasantly surprised, and also completely blown away by Cleveland Clinic and the CCLCM program. I don't want to get my hopes up too high too soon, but I'd love to hear good news from here.![]()
I know you weren't talking about me--you haven't seen me for a whole month! My point was that you might be over-speculating just a bit too much. It's easy to get caught up in the match neuroticism (don't I know that as well as anyone!). And yet, every year there are an awful lot of people (from Stanford as well as from CCLCM) who manage to get into extremely competitive residency programs without any clinical grades.
Hmmm...I met you in the hallway when you were putting your luggage in the closet first thing in the morning. Your host and I talked in the anatomy lab locker room a few minutes later and he confirmed my suspicions that you were you...and then I saw you at lunch...but I don't think your host actually introduced me to you?The CCLCM program was incredible as well. Everything from the students, curriculum, faculty, resources, etc are just top notch. One of my interviewers even took me down to his lab and showed me the equipment he uses for research and I'm pretty sure my jaw dropped 😱 It was great to meet you too vc777! That morning, my host introduced you to me as the engineer and I didn't piece two and two together until right after.
All in all, a great two days and two excellent schools.

Any ideas though on when I should send in a last attempt update? I'm thinking about just writing about how CWRU's program fits with my learning style...
QFT! First of all, congrats! Hope to see you next July!So in my attempt to contribute to the forum that faithfully helped me, I'd say that case is very particular about "fit."....... Research everything about the school. You will know when you did enough of it because that's when you will be convinced that case is a kick-ass school, not just in shallow ranking and public perception wise, but more about the admin and the curriculum's foundation. Once you are convinced, the rest comes naturally. Be enthusiastic and that will show and rub off on your interviewers. All the preparation will allow you to not just answer the questionnaires but lead the direction of the interview.
Congrats! If you want to get a bit more info about Case and interview days, look for posts by current Case med students under the search for "interview" here in this thread for some tidbits about the school and student body to help you get a little more info.Interview invite, application submitted ~10/15
haha, sorry -- I can't rephrase. Over the years I have felt slighted towards the CWRU med admissions folk... so it probably would be best if I did not attend... but I still would like the interview
I think you still want to rephrase...it just sounds bad?
Congrats to the first ten folks out there accepted to CCLCM!
Phone calls went out this week!

FYI:
Full committee met last week right before Thanksgiving...
I'm just gonna throw this out there again because I don't know if anyone saw it the last time...does anyone know how much the merit scholarships usually are or what the ranges are for them? They didn't really talk about them on the interview day but I got a letter saying they're inviting me to apply for them in march.
I'd just like to know if they have typical amounts that they give out...ha of course I'd be applying for them anyway no matter what.

Thanks, I think I'll have fun visiting Case.
Here's a question. Is there any separation between the CCLCM students and the straight-MD students?
cclcm isn't sticking to the dec 15/jan 15/feb 15 acceptance releases at all?
Anyone know the earliest flight we can schedule out of Cleveland? I want to book a 4pm flight because it's significantly shorter/direct compared to the 5pm/6pm flights.
Would this be feasible?
When I was there, I recall 30 mins to 1 hour to get from case to the airport, plus other walking, packing, changing and security time as needed. A flight departing at 4PM is probably a really bad idea.4PM is probably too early. You have one student interview and one faculty interview, and while the faculty interview could be in the morning, all the student interviews are in the afternoon (between 2PM-4PM). If you speak to the admissions office, you can probably arrange to get your interviews done as early as possible, but I don't think you'd be done any sooner than 2:30. I'm not familiar with the location of the airport or how busy it tends to be though...
Also curious 🙂

Interview invite today! I was complete 11/22.
First interview slot available was Dec 13th, and the second was in early Jan. I have another interview scheduled for the 13th already, so looks like I'll be heading to Cleveland after the holidays. I can't wait!
Man, the more I read about it the more I want to go to this place.
Does anyone know what the admission numbers are for the CCLCM program - I can't find anything, I can only find info for the university program.
That is because we do not publish our numbers separate from the university program.
In all honesty, I think it is best this way. Numbers are not as important as fit.
We are trying to train Physician Investigators. Sometimes this means traits other than straight test scores and GPAs become important. People skills, research experience, and other intangibles in my opinion are very relevant.
Oh I meant the number of applicants/interviews/admissions offers made, not average MCAT or GPA. I've realized that above a certain threshold, no one seems to care about that stuff (a 40 MCAT won't open doors a 35 wouldn't open either).
I wonder what percentage of students accepted wind up accepting the offer. I don't think anyone would pass up a med school with free tuition, but maybe some students would rather go to MSTP programs.
Anyway, I'm definitely liking cleveland clinic more and more.
Thanks for all the info vc! 🙂I will ask, but I am pretty sure it would be conjecture at this time.
Not sent from my cell phone 😏
(which comes from the Latin conjugations of plural mixed-gender nouns, and probably the Germanic as well, if I remember correctly)...In the non-gender-specific use of the term "guys"
For those of you interviewing tomorrow (and this week in general), please be aware that we are expecting the following weather:
a) snow
b) omgwind
Please prepare accordingly!
