I don't know if they'll contact you. Looks like you have your evaluation taken care of, which is a good thing. Just make sure they understand what they're supposed to write about (it's actually in the form). Thanks for the quick response! Will they contact me if they deem my letter packet to be missing a personal evaluation? I only ask because I'm a bit later in the game in applying to IU, and I'd rather not have to hold off on applying for 2-3 weeks to give my letter writer time to complete the evaluation. Or would it be better to submit my primary and add the letter later?
Calm down. You got the secondary packet so you have your interview unless you go out and run over 15 pedestrians. Read the interview feedback and prepare for those questions 👍So Im worried. After reading this thread I feel like I must not have a shot. Im an OOS. How do they really feel about that? I probably will be interviewing in October.
The interview wasn't as bad as I thought. However, it was difficult to read my interviewer at the end. Questions ranged from Why IUSM (obviously), to how would you change the health care industry? The interview definitely lasted 45 minutes. At the info session, they mentioned they wanted to accept 328.

For those who interviewed, do you know when we hear back? I was given the impression, they won't start REVIEWING interviewed aplicants until around November-December. Because they wanted to get more of a "feel for the pool". What do you guys think?
During my interview, I was told exactly how the decision process works. He said that the committee meets once a month (I think he said at the end of each month) to make decisions. A computer generates a list of applicants who are totally done with their applications (including the interview), and puts them in an order based on MCAT score, GPA, and an interview score. The committee then goes through this list, and typically gets through around 40 applicants. They then send out decisions on the 15th of the following month. That suggests that decisions could be sent out as early as October 15th for those of us who just interviewed.
I just got my date 9/29; that came way faster than I thought.
What happened on the writing section? 😕 I mean, I don't know if adcoms will care, considering your MCAT score is better than the matriculant at that school. Good stats 👍I just got my email saying that i'll be notified with 4-6 weeks.
How do I look as an IS 3.66s 3.74c 31L?

Hey Jamiu, I got the same letter too! Weren't we in the same interview group?
This place is soo quiet.... I can hear my echo, lol....
And yet this seems to be the school specific thread I check first. Gah, I hope I get an interview!
got rejected from indiana, before they even received my mcat scores. do they not like oos applicants that much?
According to this site, they interviewed 12% of OOS applicants. It's hard to say how many of those they accepted, but their OOS enrollment sits around 50 people (about 1/6 of the entering class) every year.
They're going to give me a heart attack soon. Completed weeks ago but I get an email saying they don't have my non-science LOR...
I call them and they say "Oh, no, we do. Sorry!"
Now I don't know if they're just pranking me or what![]()
Well, some of it makes me worry because the "forms" state that you have to have them signed/returned within 10 days of receipt of the secondary (which is WELL past). So, if I had called and they'd said "Oh, right, but it's too late, so it doesn't matter". Well...That must have sucked... take it easy man... we still have a long way to go...don't stress urself out too much...
It sure is a long wait though, and I have a strong feeling my wait would be even longer than most. 🙁
Rejected oos :/
About 8 more days for EDP folks to start hearing back from IU... you guys must be really stoked about that....october 15th is gonna be scary for me - that's for sure; I'll probably take the day off and not get on the internet at all.
Anyone know if acceptances will be snail mail as they did the last couple of years?? or they've switched to email/phone call based? i.e. if you have inside connection with IUSM.![]()
My packet was snail mail Jamiu.
It definitely took me by surprise - I wasn't expecting anything until next week at the earliest. Hopefully some OOS letters will start getting sent out soon too. I get the idea that the whole process has been moved forward about a week relative to last year's application cycle.
Firstly, congrats! Makes me wish I had just gone EDP since I have heard nothing from other schools at this point and this is my top choiceIt definitely took me by surprise - I wasn't expecting anything until next week at the earliest. I think you are right... it's definitely faster this year.... on the other hand AMCAS has a rule that regular acceptances don't get given until 10/15... so I don't think IU can control that. Looking at last years thread, it seems that OOS acceptances didn't start rolling out until mid November, so maybe it will really be Oct this year.
By the way, what campus are you choosing? All have very similar curriculum, except the Indianapolis one.
