Did anyone receive emails yesterday for waitlist? I never heard from them so I'm hoping my interviewer just didn't make it to the meeting.

got the pre-interview rejection email today. so much for that last little thread of hope.
 
I too received the thanks but no thanks today. It kinda sucks, but when it's mid-april, you can't really call it a surprise, right?
 
I think Jefferson wins for the most lackluster rejection e-mail.

Rejected pre-interview: expected, I mean if you didn't receive an interview by now you knew this was coming!
 
I've gotten the same reject email three times today...thanks Jeff, I get it

Finally got the pre-interview rejection today after having the "Interview status: decision pending." but I'm not sad, I got into the school I wanted. This might sound weird, but I just want the rest of the schools I have left to hear from to reject me already so the application can be officially over! :p
 
I probably have to add Jefferson to my spam list. Suck it Jeff :thumbdown:

I felt the same way. I don't care what you decide, just decide something so I get some closure, dammit!

Sorry you guys got multiple rejection emails. That blows. :thumbdown:

Agree 100%!! I've already decided where I'm going so I'd rather just make the rejections official...though one rejection email would have sufficed...I really don't need to get one every 30 minutes, thanks Jefferson.

Oh I just got the 2nd and 3rd rejection emails :laugh:. Maybe they'll assume you'll be so devastated, you won't be able to comprehend the email until your third try! :laugh: or they just really want to rub it in your face...

I got a couple of rejection emails today. No big deal, since I'm already accepted where I want to go.

I wonder if they'll stop at 3, or just pepper our inboxes throughout the day with rejections :laugh:
 
I heard that they wanted to be extra mean this year, hence the double rejection e-mails.
Then, someone realized that it would be a double negative, negating the rejections and necessitating the third e-mail.

Ditto. I like to imagine that this is their way of trying to compensate for sitting on my application for 9 full months with absolutely no communication. :laugh:
 
Finally rejected! Twice! Done with the application cycle finally. Only took a month after my second-to-last school to hear from... good riddance Jeff...

I still haven't heard from 4 schools... they all have a lot of apps to get through.

I dont know why they needed to send me 3 rejections..that was a little too much. I got the point after 1. I already got into a school i wouldve picked over Jefferson anyways, and would even decline an interview here if they invited me, but rejecting me 3 times was still rude! lol
 
Yes Jefferson, I understood I would not be able to attend your medical school after I declined your interview.

The rejection email doesn't even make sense...I should send their admissions office an email asking if they check who they send it to.

Fight nice, children. Be supportive of one another. And Calvin, sending a letter isn't going to do a thing except make someone in Admissions delete an email. They're busy enough as it is.

I see that "Estimated Family Contribution + Initial Need" = "Cost of Attendance." Have they given awards yet? The award overview says that no award has been given yet, but does "Initial Need - Need" = A potential award?

hey so I had this on my banner as well. My "initial need" and "need" are the same number because I have zero outside resources. I did not get awarded anything because my EFC was too high (I called financial aid and asked). I got the max subsidized and unsubsidized stafford loans, the rest I'm supposed to get through GradPlus or a private loan.

Another area you can doublecheck to see if you qualified for institutional aid is under the "Eligibility" button then "Student Requirements". Mine says:


Student was found not eligible for Jefferson Inst. Aid Received & Complete Apr 19, 2011

Wow thats kind of uncalled for. Im happy you arent joining us at Jeff next year, you sound mean :scared:

Nehows, who all is going to second look? Are there any student hosts for that or are we expected to get hotels? I live in jersey so could technically come on both days, but would love to just spend the night and soak in Jefferson lol

I'm sorry you weren't found eligible for aid. You would expect Jefferson with an unattached undergraduate and vast alumni network to have reasonable financial aid. I guess the class size offsets any benefit from that.

I don't see any negative messages like that in my "Eligiblity."

It says I have "outside resources," and when I click that it says "No award information is available for you at this time, please contact your financial aid office if you have questions."

But if I click "Award Overview" (numbers have been changed):

Initial Need
$35,245.00

Outside Resource
$.00

Need
$20,245.00

So, I don't have outside resources either, but my initial need and need differ by, in this hypothetical case, 15000. Does this mean a $15K need-scholarship?
 
I still haven't gotten my finaid award. All I have is cost of attendance: $72k :eek: I'd really like to get it soon because it will probably be the deciding factor between this and my state school...

yeah I was hoping to get some aid too :( oh well!

anyway, your situation does sound different since there is a difference in the "initial need" vs "need". it sounds positive to me though! maybe wait a couple of days to see if the award info gets added in, and then call financial aid office? they're super nice and responsive. good luck!!
 
Another Wednesday with no phone call, email, or mail. Anyone out there hear today?
 
When I was at my interview they said no calls this week.

Thanks, at least I can relax a little bit the rest of this week. Every time my phone rings and it's not a number I recognize, I jump.
