Yea I got a complete email a few days ago and do not have the Deans cert checked off on the status page. I just check the status page again and it says: According to our records and procedures your file is Complete.

Great, thanks for the heads up.

Has anyone's letters been marked as incomplete? For some reason, mine are when my other schools have received my letters.

Does taking a gap year between high school and college count as an interruption of my college education?

As of 8/10 morning, 2498 applications have been received by WUMSCOA.

Good luck to you all!

(wow, this thread is slow.)

he/she goes there, so they either work for admissions or can just swing by and ask.

hi how do you know?

Equality and I are both first years at WashU. They announced the number of applications they had received as of 8/10 on our first day of orientation.

WashU takes a little longer than most to get the interview invitations out, so just be patient, guys. :luck:

Hey Ksmi, do you know when they generally start interviewing?

Last year interviews started in late September, I believe (if not then, early October). I honestly don't know the exact date that they will start. The first year students have a lunch talk about hosting applicants in mid-September, so I can guarantee that interviews won't be before then.

As far as when the invites will go out, last year the first date that anyone received an invite was September 9th.

Good point. But I was wondering if anyone else had the same issue; it didn't seem to let me submit the fourth letter writer's name, and it only accepted my submission after I removed it.

Same thing happened to me. Weird but ah well.

Ahhh wow, that's quite late, isn't it? I guess I don't have to obsess over WashU for a few weeks... thanks!

Edit: heard from the adcom at WashU - apparently they are not due to send out any invites until October 1st.... o___o

Wtffff... Well actually not so bad, it's nice to have interviews spread out... kinda.

Hey, is anyone else submitting to MSTP? There are two essays on the secondary:

If you have already completed your education, if your college or graduate education was interrupted, or if you do not plan to be a full-time student during the current year, describe in chronological order your activities during the time(s) when you were not enrolled as a full-time student. (maximum 1800 characters including spaces)

Then on the next page:

If you graduated in 2010 or earlier, briefly (maximum of 1800 characters including spaces) state your plans for the upcoming year.

Seems a little similar, huh?

Anyone know how to best answer that?

I'm not MSTP but just reading the prompts it seems the first question is basically asking what you have done with your free time in the past and the second question is asking what will you be doing with your free time this upcoming year. You can always call the admissions office for clarification!

Got an interview invite for MSTP today !! I don't know if they're also sending out straight-MD invites though.

Your MCAT score has restored my hope for some kind of love from WashU MSTP (pending receipt of my second set of scores... :/). Congrats and good luck Panda!

haha wow I definitely jinxed myself. Rejected yesterday afternoon from MSTP. Still in the running for MD, but I wish the MSTP committee had waited for my second set of MCAT scores to come in. 🙁

Congrats! What kind of ECs etc do you have?

K I know I get super curious about these things so I'll go into plenty of detail and you can skim as you please : )

Lottttts of research, mostly in bioinformatics. 1 first author paper submitted for publication (fingers crossed), 2 other papers being prepared for submission (1 first author, 1 second author).
President of a healthcare-related club
Springboard Diver (took soph&junior years off, though)
Some shadowing through a clinical internship (not a ton though, compared to a lot of people on here!)
I play 3 instruments, I speak another language
Another internship at an AIDS outreach nonprofit
I led camping trips for incoming freshman for two summers
Also my dad was diagnosed with a brain tumor during my sophomore year and his surgery that spring left him permanently disabled, so I have had a lot of family commitments.

I think that's it. I was surprised too that my MCAT score didn't hurt me, but actually I was talking with the director of a different (also very good) MSTP program recently because I randomly made friends with him when he visited my campus, and he said that 'okay' MCAT scores aren't really seen as a problem if the rest of the application is strong. So for those who don't have 36+s, don't freak out... apparently there is hope.

Complete 8/20

I also appeared to have received an invite, though I never got an email. On the portal, it said Interview Offer Date: [Yesterday's Date] and allowed me to choose from some dates to schedule. I was also compete around 8/20.

Did anyone else get this? I hope it's not a mistake.

Congrats guys! Were you guys MSTP or regular? Did the interview status show up on the "check status" page of their secondary?

I did get an email but it told me to call and schedule. I called and looks like its all good!

They told you to call and schedule? Strange...did you also have the "Visit Arrangements" tab come up in your portal where you can add your lodging/breakfast preferences?

I'm regular MD and it appeared in the check application status part (regular text). I did have the Dean's Cert in, but my understanding was that you didn't have to have it in.

No I don't have that option. Under my application status it says "Interview offer date" and thats all I have in reference to my interview. I don't know whats goin on with that ha guess they must schedule them differently.

Oh and I'm regular MD and yes I did have my Dean's form in.

I guess they are scheduling it differently?...anyway thanks so much for your post, I only checked my status because I saw that you posted. I have the interview offer date and the Visit Arrangements tab but no email. Good luck! :luck:

my file still says incomplete (haven't finished dean's letter yet)--did those of ya'll with invites have your deans letters in already?

MD interview invite -- I don't have my dean's letter in yet, but my file was marked complete sometime in late July. My understanding was that the dean's letter was only necessary if you were granted an interview..

Congrats to those with interviews. 🙂 When is everyone heading down to St. Louis?

The whole calling vs. scheduling online thing is a mystery to me. The same thing happened last year and we never could figure it out. But if you got an interview invite now, it's a good sign!!

I look forward to meeting some of you when y'all come interview.

As always, if you have questions feel free to PM me.

for those of you with invites, what is the latest available interview date (online scheduling)?

and do u know if waiting will open up later possible dates?

did you guys get a confirmation email after picking an interview date?
When does the interview day end? (so I know when I should schedule my flight out)

thank you

Turns out they never marked my app complete even though I had 3 LOE's in... Now I'm like super late at WashU because I was waiting for them to review my app before I sent the 4th (I forget why, but it shouldn't have mattered.)

I wonder if anyone got invite from Washington university at St, louis?

I just got an MD invite! MSTP committee says I should hear from them in a couple of weeks.

Hello everyone,

I just received an interview invitation for Washu, and I am trying to figure out what times to schedule my flight out of St. Louis.

I can't seem to figure out what time the interview day's activities end.

Do any of you have a general idea when things end for interviewee's on interview day and how much buffer time to put between the end of interview day to flight?

Thanks!
