Alright thank you for the help, the reason also being that they have a re-applicant comment essay if you are one which is optional. That is 3k characters and this one is 1400. I just was wondering because I would basically run the risk of saying the same thing over and over right?
 
That's true... I didn't realize that was also a re-applicant essay (I'm not one). But it's optional and not required to get an interview as documented in this thread. And since the question about going to med school directly after college also applies to that and is required in yours (and my) situation, I'd talk about what you've done since last year there. But then again, it can't hurt to write something for the optional part that is geared specifically towards you being a re-applicant, but that's totally up to you.

For me the question about going directly after college will be answered in terms of getting a Master's and other activities I've been involved with since I graduated May 2010.

Just got an interview invite! Complete 6/29, 30 day e-mail 7/29, interview invite 8/29
 
Interview invite! Complete June 29th, so they're not going in chronological order. This is my first one so I'm really excited 🙂

This information may have changed somewhat- I have in interview the first week of October.

you definitely should. Just use the message center to send a polite request to the admissions staff that they consider offering you a Friday. I requested to reschedule my interview and they were VERY accomodating and got back to me the next day with a new date.
 
Rejected! 19 days after completion. No surprise there... 😳
 
Complete since 7-18. No news at all.

Interview Invite on 8/24 complete on 7/18 and I got the 30 day; 33/3.9. Best of Luck to all!

Both. I'm not sure which comes first, but my status changed and I received an email.

I e-mailed, and they responded. After "taking another look at my application," they didn't really say anything definitive, but I know they told someone else he wasn't competitive enough. I asked just to make sure my PS wasn't too "out there," but who knows why they reject anybody otherwise? Could be anything from grumpy adcoms to yield protection to a sore thumb in your app. Especially if you're particularly worried about something in your app affecting your chances at other schools, you've got nothing to lose by e-mailing them (through their site). I wouldn't call, since that'll give them a couple of days to glance over your application one more time, assuming they actually did so.

Did anyone not receive the 30 day email even though they submitted more then 30 days ago? I have not received it and I submitted on 7/29. Is this a bad sign?

Mine was complete on 7/18. No 30-day email at all.

Was wondering this as well.... I received the 30-day email about 2 weeks ago. Don't want to risk pissing them off...!

Timeline:
7/8: complete
8/7: 30-day email
9/6: interview invite email. I was given MWF dates in Oct and I scheduled for the F date.

ii- today 9/6

so excited - today is a good day!

Got it about an hour ago.

Complete 8/16. No 30 day email.
 
They are offering interviews in early/mid November on Mondays and Wednesdays if anyone is interested.
 
From reading through the thread I believe you actually should have more hope now that you have passed 30 days, however, it is still not a guarantee for interview. I've only seen a select few get interviews before 30 days.
 
im a few days past the 30 days since completion, and still no word.. Weird..

I also am a few days past 30 from submitting my secondary and haven't heard word 1 from BU. Very frustrating.
 
I was complete on 8/4 and have heard nothing. But at least silence > rejection...
 
I believe there is a difference between 30 days after submitting your application and 30 days after being complete. I submitted my application late July and got the "complete" e-mail at the end of august. I assume that now I'm waiting for the real "30 day" e-mail....can anyone concur?

I'm in the same situation (submitted early August, got a "complete" email 8/22), so I'm waiting too. I would imagine that you're not placed in the queue to be reviewed until the application is actually complete - so I'm counting from 8/22 for my 30 day email.
 
I submitted mine 8/16 and was complete 8/17, so 22 days down!! Just over 3 weeks, and I'm still safe...but that doesn't mean anything yet 😀

I think BU, considering how many apps it gets, is relatively good at keeping on top of these apps...still hate the waiting time though!

Yesterday I received an email saying my application was currently on hold:

"Your application to Boston University School of Medicine has been placed on hold, pending the receipt of the following: Fall Semester grades"

Anyone ever heard of this? I can't find another reference to this on any forum for any school. I'm a non-trad halfway through a master's in biology. I had completed all the pre-reqs from undergrad, so they can't be wondering about those. I called the admissions office and they didn't tell me anything else.

stats: complete 8-30. ugrad 3.6s, PB 3.8s, Grad 3.8s, 28P(1st) 38Q (2nd).
