Oh earlier posts on here as well as from last years post. Still think its cruel to do that to students. I think Drew should be fortunate that there 2K+ students that are interested in doing at some extent medical underserved medicine, because from what I have seen not that many people are. Still don't understand that there is only 24 spots for it. To me there should be more, especially given the state of this economy.

I know you guys are suffering through the long and stressful admissions cycle. But ask any of the 3 members in my class who interviewed in May if Drew was worth the wait. If you would like more spots, please let your local congressman or senator know! We didn't decide there would be only 24, we're limited by LCME and state legislation/funding. And you can always keep your dedication to the underserved no matter where you go!
 
And just as a notice, we did interview until May last year but this year, we're pretty on top of admissions due to our new admissions director. So I don't know when the last interview will be.
 
Well despite receiving a secondary got my letter of rejection today. Good luck to everyone else. Probably not reapplying to this program if I have to do so.

Thanks for the info! Do you know when CDU/UCLA will start contacting students about acceptances? I know they said February... I'm so impatient!

For those rejected, I am sorry to hear that. There is always tomorrow! Did your online status change?
Mine has been saying secondary application received...allow four weeks...

Here's what it says when I check my status:
"No Status
We have received your AMCAS Application. Please allow four weeks for the Admissions Committee to review your application."
 
I got the call from Drew on 2/2 about my acceptance! I will definitely be matriculating there this July. They said that UCLA had just signed off on the first group of acceptances that morning. Good luck to the rest of you!

Congrats!! When did you interview?

I just had my interview so I know it'll be a long wait but hopefully it won't be til June/july. Don't know if my heart could take it 😛

Just curious were you in the first interview group?
 
Thanks! I interviewed back on 10/22 in the morning group. The Dean said we would first hear back late January so she was pretty accurate with that info.

Thanks! Well the news has had a little time to settle in but yea the first couple nights were spent up imagining what its gonna be like haha

Thank you! Yea as far as I know they released multiple acceptances on 2/2 but I am not sure how many exactly.

Also accepted on 2/2 and planning on matriculating 🙂 I interviewed on November 19th. They gave me four days to accept/reject offer. Good luck to all!
 
Hey guys,

Congrats to those who have received acceptances! I was wondering if they told you any specifics on when orientation is this year. I know from previous years' threads it seems to start around the 3rd week of July and lasts somewhere between 2-3 weeks long (not including the Geffen orientation that starts in late July/early August).

I'd like to know as if I am so fortunate to be accepted, how much in advance to plan ahead. Gotta fit in some traveling time somewhere between leaving my job and starting school!

Thanks in advance. Hope someone has some information.

They let me know on a Thursday and I had till the following Monday to respond. I just responded via email attachment.
 
Compared to last year's thread, they seem to be much more on top of admissions this year. I'm now starting to get super nervous whenever my phone rings, even though I know I have a long wait ahead of me 😛
 
Has anyone received any post-interview rejections yet? I interviewed in October and the anticipation is killing me. I want to go here so badddddd
 
Quick Hits:

- It's finals week here at Drew.
- A group was accepted a couple weeks ago, if you were part of that group, message me please. Like every year, one of you will be responsible for making an accepted students FB group (sorry non-facebookers).
- Most of the office of medical student affairs (who do admissions) is working really hard on match day right now (3/14)!
- Nothing on the official schedule about more interview dates yet, hold tight, I expect atleast 1 more.

Also, it appears that they're accepting people for this program before they're doing it for Geffen. I thought it was the other way around based on last year's thread. Wonder why the change.

Quick question for those who have interviewed, my status reads:

"Interview(s) Scheduled An interview with our admissions committee has been scheduled. Please check your email for specific information about your scheduled interview."

I interviewed 1/7, does anyone else who has already interviewed have their status as mine or does yours say something else?

Drew is definitely at the top of my list 🙂 I am waiting for the UCLA PRIME program and hopefully I can do the PRIME/DREW 😀 that would be perfect!
