Is this anyone else's last decision they're waiting for? I can't wait to hear back and just be done with this whole season. Anyone doing anything to celebrate the end of their application cycle?

Yup, same here.

I think I'm going to be doing the same thing most people do right when the application cycle ends...drink 🙂

C'mon, Cornell! Give me an answer already!

You'll have all the options by the end of the week, but you'll still have to wait and figure out the financial situation of each option before you know for sure where you're going...

Definitely....it will probably be well into April before you can make a decision 100% one way or the other if financial aid and scholarships are of concern to you.

That said, hearing back from all the schools you applied to will be a nice little milestone! Though if you have any waitlists.... 😉

I really do hope so!!!! Starting to think when admissions said "By the end of the month", they weren't bluffing...

No, I still have another interview! Do tell me how that "done" feeling is when you have it though, mmkay? 🙂

I have a feeling we'll be finding out from Cornell between tomorrow and Thursday!

Looks like the wait continues, Chinchillin. I'm feeling a Thursday email. See you all back here soon.

US News World Report moved Cornell up a couple spots to 16th...I hate to say it, but this change certainly influences student decisions...still, Cornell's primary care ranking remains abysmal - anyone know why/do primary care rankings really even matter?

Good question about the primary care stuff. I don't really think USNews rankings matters all too much to be honest. A lot of great schools rank really terribly.. Emory, Columbia, U Chicago, Vanderbilt, Baylor, Duke, Yale all rank below 40+

I don't understand the primary care methodology as well, but a large component is how many graduates enter primary care fields. Most of the top schools simply don't produce many primary physicians. For better, or probably worse this is their definition (doesn't really tell you how well the school prepares its students for primary care fields). Just like total NIH funds is a big component of the research rankings (a very imperfect proxy for how the school will be able to cultivate you as a future researcher, though presumably there are more opportunities to get involved in stuff.

All that said, good for the schools like UCSF and University of Washington that are cranking out tons of research and producing many primary care physicians (as state schools, this is of course an important part of their mission)

So I emailed admissions yesterday, and this was their response:

Greetings!

Thank you for your inquiry and your interest. We will be sending decisions in mid-March as promised, but the exact date is not clear.

Sincerely,
Office of Admissions

Well....here's to hoping it's today!:xf:

Well that's good to hear that at least it will still be mid march! They should let us know by the end of the week then.

So looks like Cornell is determined to be the last school to notify applicants?

Considering the fact that the decisions are going to be mailed, I think we have some time to wait.

Always tomorrow or later ain't it? lol What a killer wait!
Considering Friday is match day and assuming they stick with their "mid march" acceptance date, I'm gonna guess that decisions will be released tomorrow.

See you all back here tomorrow. Gonna be on high alert. I've got a good feeling about it.

Yes, and in past years they've done acceptances one day and wait lists the next. So I'm guessing Thursday acceptances, Friday waitlists.

so it was working the other day, but now when I try to go to the Cornell status page it won't load...

Right now, mine loads just fine. 'thanks for interviewing' message. Anyone else's not loading?

Mine's loading just fine as well. Still, I'm feeling like we might finally get some closure today, my friends. Good luck!

Mine's loading fine too...is there any significance with it not loading?

Anyone (current students?) know the program for the revisit weekend May 4-5? Curious about what fun we may have 🙂 Also, do we stay overnight in a hotel or with students?

Accepted as well!!!! I"ll see ya'll at revisit weekend

Post. so i guess if you guys haven't heard yet, you're at least still in the running? good luck guys.

Efff! If we didn't get an email this morning, does that mean we're on the wait list?

Sorry about the rejection. 🙁

It does seem like they're doing things differently this year, right? There were no rejects/wait-lists on the acceptance day last year?

I have a feeling this is going to be an unproductive day for me. (Constant SDN/email checking)
