Interviewing here tomorrow. I'm really excited, should be a fun drive from Chicago!

Rejected via e-mail today, pre-interview. No surprise, but it still hurts. Good luck to the rest of you.

OHHHHHHH that might be it! I had the bright Idea to check with the admin office after my interview if they had gotten mine yet or not. They didn't get it until later (thank you Undergrad for taking 2 months to say I'm not an alcoholic). So yeah, if they came in late, they might have but us later in the line to be decided on.

I also had this issue. I ended up resending the letter twice and it took my undergrad office nearly two months to send the letter in, which pushed my decision back at least month, possibly more. Really frustrating, but nothing we can do. Good luck to both of you.

Got the supplemental forms today, my very first II!!!

Application received notice 10/5
Supplemental 11/10

Hey man,

congrats on the acceptance. I hope you become a great doctor one day. I interviewed late Sept. as well and have my fingers crossed. Was the decision in by e-mail, phone or snail mail?

Thanks!

Accepted today : IS - interviewed late September - 31 mcat 3.6

Got it via snail mail yesterday- And thanks! Best of luck!

Congratulations!!

I interviewed early October. Has anyone who interviewed early October gotten a decision this round of decisions?

I'm just curious how many of you folks go to Purdue? PM if you do!

Accepted!

OOS, 3.9+/36, interviewed 08/31.

Anyone know when scholarship offers come out?

Accepted 🙂 Technically IS, although I have been living out of state for a while. 3

I was accepted via snail mail yesterday. I went to IU as an undergrad, have been living OOS for the past year and a half. 35 MCAT, 3.9+ GPA, interviewed early October.

Anyone know how long it takes to receive an interview date once the supplemental is complete??

I accidentally didn't fill out the online portion right away though.... Whoops. Fail on my part, so I'm hoping they'll still interview me.

OOS student got the letter in the mail over the weekend! Email acceptance arrived Thursday night 🙂

Any idea when the indianapolis class begins to fill up?

So even though I did the online part 5 weeks late (It's been a ridic semester)

I got an interview for 1/11!!!

I'm super excited, butttt I'm going to be out of the country. What's the best way to reschedule- phone or email? Will they view reschedulees unfavorably?

Thanks.

I emailed to reschedule but they don't actually let you choose dates.... they will tell you that you go on a waiting list to get into a new interview date (so hope you still get an interview). I rescheduled and they sent me a date for a week later. Also, I was accepted so I don't think they cared that I rescheduled.

Sounds good. Just emailed them. They picked the one week I'm out of the country of course! haha

If I don't get an interview then, well, I'm still going to medical school just not there I guess. I figure I'll end up where I'm supposed to go! 🙂

Congrats on your acceptance! Is IU your #1?

Hey guys, Im a Canadian and applied here. I was verified on Nov 11th, received receipt on Nov 14th.

What do my chances look like for a secondary? 3.76cgpa, 3.69sgpa, 31Q (12ps, 8vr, 11bs). Good EC's though

I'm interviewing on 1/18 for MD/PhD 😀

leafs2012: From what I can gather from this forum, IUSM is very particular about OOS applicants. Do you have strong ties to Indiana?

The Indianapolis class doesn't "fill up" until May, but you don't get priority if you ask to be placed in Indianapolis before then. If you choose path 2, you get placed in a lottery, and names don't get drawn from that lottery until May. So you could be one of the first people to pick path 2 chronologically and not get in at Indianapolis, while someone who fills out the form for path 2 right at the last second could get in. It's kind of a crapshoot.

Does anyone know how to send in update letters to Indiana? Do we just e-mail the admission office?

Does anyone know whether an OOS applicant can receive in-state tuition during their 2nd-4th years at Indiana University if they do not receive any sort of financial support from their parents?

At the financial aid session during my interview day, someone asked a similar question and the answer was basically no. There were two exceptions mentioned - if you marry an Indiana resident, or if you USED to be an Indiana resident. For instance, I lived in Indiana all of my life up until two years ago, so the financial aid guy said I would be eligible to appeal my resident status after a year back in Indiana. Otherwise, no.

Bruinforlife, cl810 - when were you accepted? I was accepted mid-Nov and haven't heard anything re campus assignment yet.

Received a rejection today, didn't get a supplemental or anything either. I was verified 11/11. Is it possible to call and ask them what the weaknesses were? Do they do that?

Sorry to hear that. I too have felt the sting of rejection lately. I don't think it would hurt to call and ask. Some schools are responsive to this and some aren't. After my first rejection, I emailed them and they promptly emailed me back stating that there was no smoking gun in terms of what I lacked. Another school I was rejected from allows you to sit down with the dean later on in the cycle and discuss your weaknesses. Bottom line, try it and see what they say. Good luck!

there's now a facebook group "IUSM Class of 2016." If you havent already, you should join!
