Can't wait to hear back soon too!!

Put on hold pending institutional action letter. Institutional action letter updated to "received" today. Still on hold.

Send the admin an email through their online system saying that you sent the requested document and they got it... They are pretty good at responding and by tomorrow I'm sure they'll remove the hold.

I'm sitting on the application complete status too. I've been complete since 7/10. I simultaneously hate/love this awful waiting process!

Ok, thanks!

Still waiting on an II.. been complete since 7/13- this is driving me crazy!

On a side note, I live in the area so if anyone has questions about Boston, how to get around, flights, the T etc I can help!

To answer espagueti's question, the only real airport is Logan but if you use skyscanner.com and check on Tuesdays sometimes you can find cheap(er) flights!

I drove into Boston once and wanted to cry. Is it like that all the time?

Seriously there's no need to drive if you live in Boston. The T is amazing to get you anywhere you need to go. And if it's a nice day you can literally walk anywhere in the city within 40 min/2 miles. And if you need to take a taxi it's usually never more than a $10-15 fare.

Ya no one I know who lives in the city has a car- it is way too expensive to park and walking/the T/buses are much easier! The few times I have driven in Boston have been a nightmare but its totally unnecessary.

What is there to love about it?

Part of me enjoys the anticipation and anxiety that comes every time I receive an email. I'd enjoy it alot more if those e-mails were actually interview invites, though. 😀

Honestly, I am thinking that having a smart phone in these kinds of situations is bitter sweet. Part of me loves getting automatic email updates; I hate it when a majority of these emails having nothing to do with admissions.

One of my friends sent me a fake invite email last week. It was quite humorous.

It's the subway/railway system in Boston.

"Train" wasn't cool enough? I've only been to Boston once and it reminded me of San Francisco. I'm a Los Angeles native though, so ANY public transportation is a plus compared to southern California. Where do most student live? If I remember correctly the medical school and medical center aren't in the best neighborhoods, is this correct? Do med students live over by the main undergrad campus? It seems like that area is way nicer.

Out of curiosity did you guys fill out the optional essay? & if so what topic did you decide to write about?

Thanks! & Congrats 🙂

I left it blank. I felt like I addressed everything in my primary.

I wrote a short paragraph about "Why BU", mostly because I decided to apply here for one program that they offer.

Everytime I see the (1) next to my inbox I immediately assume it is an II and it is always an ad from old navy or groupon... Not sure how much longer my body can take 15-20 rushes of adrenaline a day

T is the public transportation system....includes subway, buses, commuter rail, and some weird other stuff.

If I were a BU med student, I would live in the South End. Not the best neighborhood, but not the worst, close to the school, and there are some very nice spots (though expensive). The other neighborhoods near BUMC are very seedy, and the undergrad campus is a bitch to get to from the medical school. Many buses go right by BUMC, so you could also just try to live near one of those bus lines.

Because of this I've unsubscribed to just about every email I used to get lol

So does BU not have a student hosting program? On their website it says they do, but i see know mention of it in any of the emails or in the application portal. I'm really trying to cut cost, i just spend ~300 dollars and a flight and am quickly running out of money

Not sure about the hosting program, but one good way to cut costs would be to look into hostels when you get interviews at schools in expensive locations without hosting programs.

Great, thanks for the info guys! I was worried about leaving it blank but I didn't want to write random BS haha. Good to know that people leaving the section blank are still receiving early interviews.

Congrats again & best of luck on your interviews

I'm with you. This application season is much more expensive than I budgeted for. If anyone finds the details of the hosting program, please share with the rest of us.

If by losers you mean the team with 16 rings, 31 finals appearances [47% of all NBA seasons], & the highest all-time winning percentage ...then yes, Los Angeles Losers for Life

They may have a lot of rings and stuff, but they don't have the Love doctor.

I'm a re-applicant and was wait-listed until late June. Any current med students at BU know if this will help me in any way?

ooooh. fingers crossed for some news for me soon! I've been complete since 7/12! Congrats once again on the invite! 🙂 🙂

Also received interview invite this morning! Application was complete on 7/10. Stats: ~3.75 BCPM and cumulative gpa, 33 mcat. And FWIW, I did not answer the optional essay question.

Rejected.

Good luck to all you interviewers!

Sorry to here that. Would you mind posting when you were complete?

thanks for your support, and yes, I was complete on 7/10. BU was definitely a huge reach for me, so I'm not too shocked, but I figured I'd never know if I didn't try.

And I hope you get an interview. Best of luck 🙂

I've been complete since 7/5 and still haven't heard back anything...Not sure what's going on here..
