The faster route from the med school is to go up one block to Washington, take the SL4 to south station and hop on the SL1 to the airport. Going down mass ave to get onto the green line just takes longer. Plus I know personally, at rush hour you can walk faster up mass ave to the green line then the bus is able to drive through traffic that way.

Is the south station the final stop for SL4?

Yea it's the last one. Much much faster/more reliable than the 1 bus and less people usually too.

1 interview with faculty (could be either basic science or clinical). Should be pretty relaxed and conversational, although they do like to ask an occasional ethics question.
You will also have lunch, where you will be joined by some med students and also get a tour.

I am complete since 1.10.2012 and no news as of 1 minute ago !
I was wondering if people who have applied the same time as me received II or rejection letter. :xf::xf:

I was complete late August and I have yet to hear anything.

Interviewed here a few weeks ago.
The atmosphere (physical and students) was pretty awesome. It just felt more alive and welcoming than the other schools I visited. More than that, the guy I interviewed with was my older clone (or I'd be a clone of him?). BU is a strong favorite for me.

Interview day was everything I thought it could be and more. Definitely my first choice. Now here comes the wait :xf::xf:

Just finished the interview day! I definitely enjoyed it and Im hoping to hear some good news in January ...but according to Dr, Witzburg, it is unlikely lol

Lol, unlikely you'll hear good news, or unlikely you'll hear in January.

Unlikely to hear good news. They complete most interviews in the first batch, but only accept 1/3 of the class. They accept the other 2/3 of the class in the second batch of decisions.

but a lot of people get deferred to the second round it would seem

Good news = acceptance. Not deferral. Plus, if/when you get deferred, you are now competing against even more interviewees.

Hmm I know Dr. Witzburg mentioned that around 2/3 will have been interviewed for the first round, and those who were deferred will be competing during the second round against a similar amount of interviewees as the first round. This could make sense given that the vast amount of students are rejected from the first round...I believe I am remembering this correctly because he emphasized how fair the process was.

Bu's always seemed very honest and straight forward in explaining how their process for admission works...so in BU I trust!

I remember hearing Dr. Witzburg saying this as well. He strongly emphasized how fair the whole process is for everyone.

Really? I don't remember him saying the vast majority of first rounders get rejected.

Pretty sure BU puts quite a bit of emphasis on service.

I suggest you go to this bar called Parish. Excellent sandwiches, great atmosphere, great bar, and within walking distance of BUSM.

+1 Parrish is our neighborhood bar. Very chill place.

Rejected today,. Complete late OCt (cause of LOR problems)

3.74/34, makes me at 7 rejections 1 II :/

Unofrtunately its a II at a new school, which is cool in all, but I just thought this cycle would be different :/

Keep your head up, I looked at your MDApps and you look solid, applying late just slows the process a bit but I imagine you will have good news in your future. With 45k applicants competing for 19k spots every interview matters, and a new school can be a great thing because the school will be entirely what you make of it.

You got a BU acceptance? I thought they don't make offers until January?

EDIT: Sorry - realized that II means interview invite. Nevermind

Killin me smalls.

So guys, my oct interview got bumped to the first week of jan because of sandy. Do you think my decision would come within that first batch? And I'm trying to figure out if my chances have been affected by the date switch, what do you think?😕

No. First batch closes before winter vacation. Mine got bumped too. They offered me 11/26 but I couldn't make it so I took 12/6.

Ah okay thanks, I don't know why I thought end of jan. And yeah same for me.. couldn't make a 11/9 reschedule so got pushed out to 2013 .. bummer

Received an II today. The available dates at 1/7, 2/4 and 2/6. I don't want to choose 1/7 because the flights are expensive, and I have another interview on west coast on 1/3. I know that February is pretty much the end of their interview process. Would it really hurt my chances of acceptance if I interview in early feb versus early january?

No, BU does not have rolling admissions, per se. They look at the first batch of applicants in Dec and look at the second batch of applicants in end of February/March after all interviews are done. It does not matter whether you interview in January or February, you will be reviewed with everyone else at end of interview season.
