These waves of rejections with seemingly little good news are starting to make me very anxious... It's actually deterring me from checking my inbox

Also complete early july...I hope to hear soon!

Invite...complete early JULY!!!!!

Congrats! Finally some good news. It looks like they periodically review applications in batches according to date of completion.

I can't believe that they're still on July submissions! 😱

It seems like they review a variety of complete dates in bunches. People complete in September have heard back decisions.

Did you guys get it from email or snail mail? Oh god, I can feel mine coming.

Yeah me too, I see a lot of people with similar stats (and better) compared to mine getting rejected. 🙁

At the interview the students stated that there seems to be a large portion of students from Cornell undergrad. Something like 10-11, which is about 10%, but who knows. This is just anecdotal evidence and could be due to a variety of other factors. I know for a fact though that Cornell looks at the applicants holistically and they care for more than just numbers.

Thanks! this is encouraging. Here's to staying hopeful!

Complete Sept. Should I send a update letter?!!?!

I was complete in early August. I'm not sure whether this lag time give me hope or not..

Are rejections via email or snail mail? 😕

Ignorant question: would I be able to catch a cab from Weill to go to penn station after my interview? I.e. is it easy to catch a cab from here.

Yeah, you could, but if you have time you could also take the train. The F can take you to penn station and it's only about 10 blocks away. It could also give you time to walk around and get a sense of the area-it's super nice.

cab~15-25 bucks depending on traffic
train=$2.25+a chance to look around the school

Thanks so much for your response! My interview day ends at 5pm (lots of traffic I presume) so I wanted to know if a cab could get me to penn station in a reasonable amount of time? I'm not really trying to walk around as I have a final the next morning, early so I just wanted the fastest way to get back to penn station.

Hmmmm.. I don't know if a cab would be faster during rush hour in that area. Where are you trying to get to? The airport? Penn Station to get to Jersey?

If the latter, I would say take the train to Penn Station. If the former, It might behoove you to take the cab from UES to LGA or JFK (flat rate for JFK is $40).

..annnnnnd there it is. Just received the rejection email. Complete since mid July. Sigh I thought I had a chance surviving this long! That's two rejections today 🙁

Yea I'm trying to get to penn station to get to nj. I called the admissions office to ask and the woman just said to allow for some extra time, but I'm going to be annoying and ask how much extra time? 15 minutes, an hour? I'm used to what jerseyans consider extra time, but manhattan is probably very different. To be very neurotic about this, do you think id be ale to get to penn station from Cornell via taxi by say seven pm if I leave about five? Is that a proper upper limit (2 hrs) to have? I sound sooooo stupid I know I know. I just want to be safe as I have a final early the next morning

You can absolutely make the trip in under 2 hours. I am not sure how long the cab would be but I know the subways in the area pretty well.

10-15 Minute Walk to 68th/Hunter Station
5-7 Minutes on 6 line to 51/53 Lexington Station
5-7 Minutes on the E Line from Lexington to Penn
Max 5-7 minutes waiting at each station for a train because its rush hour (more likely 3-4)
Worst Case Scenario - 45 Minutes (likely about 30-35)

(You can use the MTA Site to Plan your train times if you are extra worried, just use the Hunter College Station to NY Penn)

Wow, I didn't realize there was a 2 hour time limit. That is ridiculous amount of time. I agree with the 30-35 min by train, but unfortunately I would say that by taxi you just never know how long it will take. Nevertheless, two hours is a lot of time and I still suggest you go by train.

I know they accept updates, not sure about LOIs though since one of the secondary questions already addressed this.
