OOS top1/3 (sent a 3 page LOI.)

Realistically, what's Garrbear's chance of eventually getting accepted?
A)In for sure >90%
B)Chances are good >75%
C)decent shot ~50%
D)pray <50%

I too have been waitlisted top 1/3rd out of state...has anyone from oos actually gotten a straight acceptance yet? seems like we're all getting the waitlist.well, keeping my fingers crossed, anyway. i really liked this school!

Someone I know was placed in the middle tier for the class of 2017. Does EVMS accept anyone from the middle tier? Do they first exhaust the top tier before moving on to the next tier? Any insight is greatly appreciated.

I am OOS; I interviewed in September and was accepted in October.

Do all decisions go out by snail mail or just acceptances?
 
Has anyone from in state that interviewed in feb heard back yet? It seems like only oos people have heard back so far. I interviewed on 2/6.
 
Just interviewed last week. Has anyone who interviewed around this time gotten accepted or is it just waitlist spots at this point?

IS here. I interviewed 2/1 and found out I was waitlisted last week. The letter was postmarked 2/15, I think.

OOS, interviewed early February. Really liked the school. Waitlisted. Called the EVMS office. Apparently waitlist tiers are based on some kind of points system and acceptances do not necessarily go by tier. One can be listed in middle or lower tier and still get accepted over those listed in top tier. Does anyone on the board/current student know anything about this and can share their knowledge about how al these tiers and points work? Thanks.
 
Sounds like everyone is getting waitlisted. Last year's thread showed nobody on SDN getting an acceptance with an interview date past Feb. Things are looking bleak. :lame:

Just keep in mind that the waitlist tends to move quite a bit. So its not over till its over.

I don't know how the point system and WL tiers work. Last year I was on the top third OSS WL and I was pulled off, but from what I can remember, there were people on SDN that were middle third and perhaps bottom third that were pulled off the WL before I was.

If you're OOS and you're on the top third of the WL, I'd say you're in a good spot. Just hang tight (I know it's hard to do) until May/June. I can't really speak of the IS WL though, since I was from California.

You're right! It's not over, until it's over. I know students get accepted all throughout summer and right up until classes begin.

I wouldn't count on the WL moving anytime soon, though. Wait until after mid-May. Things start to move quickly from mid-May to mid June.

I just got accepted off of the waitlist yesterday after being put on it early last month. I'm IS and I interviewed early January. I just sent in my LOI last week.

I also got my acceptance off the waitlist last night!!!!! OOS interviewed in late January.

I got an interview invite 2 weeks ago. Complete in early november.
 
I was also complete early November and got an invite last week
 
Thanks for the reply and encouraging words. Not in top tier but still hopeful. Had a good interview and hoping that means something.

Yes, I was in the top 1/3 and I, too, got the big white envelope via snail mail. I would advise that you keep the LOI short and to the point. They have a lot to read! But what do I know, I'm just speaking from experience!

I sent mine via snail mail to the admissions office. I didn't get anything back either though. I don't think they send replies to them?
 
Hi, I interviewed back in November, and was placed in the top third of the wait list (OOS). I sent them a LOI via email, to both my interviewer and to Dr. Castora. I received this acknowledgment via email:

Thank you [name] for your email which I will add to your file. I am very happy that you enjoyed your interview day at EVMS. You have learned a lot about the school.

Still haven't heard back about my waitlist status. But I just wanted to say I did receive acknowledgement about 3 days after sending the email.
 
I just received an email about the EVMS preview weekend? Do they just send that to everybody? I haven't received a decision yet (interviewed 2/20).

Not sure. I assume this is their second look so it would only go to accepted students? I am accepted btw and got the email as well.

Perhaps there is an acceptance in your near future! I'd call them.

Tried calling and had to leave a message. I wish they had waited to send this email until after I received my decision. The suspense is killing me! Did anyone on the waitlist receive the Preview Weekend email?

I'm on the waitlist and didn't receive any email about that, maybe there's good news coming your way?
 
I'm also on the waitlist (top 1/3) and didn't get the email. When is their preview weekend/second look going to be?

They just called me back. ACCEPTED! Apparently my letter is in the mail. Interviewed 2/20 OOS.
 
Guess that means either wait list or rejection for those that didnt get the email.

From what I read on previous posts, it seems IS WL has lesser chance than OOS WL. Correct me if I am wrong. I am on 1/3 IS WL as well. Or hopefully EVMS is just working on OOS WL first, and then moving on to IS WL.
 
So last year 167 were accepted IS and 71 enrolled. Would it be safe to say that eventually 96 IS people came off the waitlist?
