Yeah, otherwise I'd be really, really bummed right now. I'm making up for the waitlist by having a nice heart-clogging cheeseburger today. I really wish JHU wasn't my first interview... felt really nervous and unpolished going in.

Yep, from previous threads, there are a couple post-interview rejections. The waitlist is also apparently tiered between an upper tier group and a lower tier one.

No decision yet, I'm still waiting. I agree that the early interviews were my worst. I think I've been getting stronger with each one. The good news is that Harvard will be my last interview!
 
They do give post-interview rejections... In fact, I got one. Damn.

It was also my first interview (late Sep), and it didn't go very well esp with the 4th year student. I don't have an acceptance yet unlike everyone else in this thread who visited JHU. Very frustrated and scared right now.

and @kevinus, I'm sure you'll get an acceptance. The fact that you got an II from Johns freaking Hopkins pretty much guarantees that (assuming you applied broadly). So just try and be patient 🙂

Thank you so much, man! And so many congratulations to you on Cleveland Clinic. What an impressive accomplishment and incredible option to have. I know the waitlist here probably stings but if previous years are any indicator then it certainly does not mean the door is closed just yet. I'll be rootin' for ya!

Hello guys! I got accepted but I think i'm getting a C this semester ---- am i at risk for getting my offer rescinded? im freaking out

That's why I've been so confused. I interviewed the following week. (17th-18th) and the dean at the beginning of the interview day said the 15th. This was again brought up by the fourth years who said the 15th of December. So Idk....we'll see. Would hate to have to wait another 45 days.

No, they continue to send decisions until April.

Not gonna lie, I'm a little upset by the fact that we were told a specific date by the dean only to have that date be changed without them telling us anything about it. They also did this last year. It just seems unnecessary and it's something that's easily avoidable. I know I'm being a little neurotic but having to wait an additional 45 days sucks. I understand the delays can happen, but they haven't even addressed it on the fb page or anything. It just seems very inconsiderate to applicants.

It stinks that they did a poor job of setting your expectations. Unfortunately, these things happen. You can't control their process, but you can control (to some extent) how you react to it. You already recognize that you're being neurotic - Which is okay! Don't feel bad - It's a normal response. But I'm willing to bet you'll feel much better if you go do whatever it is you do that helps you cope with anxiety. Take care of yourself and make those 45 days fly by!

I'm in the same boat but complaining about it on SDN is not going to do anything. Things happen. It's an honest mistake on the part of the admissions staff, not some deliberate attempt to be inconsiderate to applicants. Just be patient and focus on whatever your doing right now and it will help go by faster. I definitely sympathize because I was also told by the dean that we would hear back today. But admissions offices deal with so many applications, it's understandable that they got confused. We'll see what happens next month!

I'm gonna side with you here. Delays happen, and that's understandable, but if it happened last year and this year, I'd say the admissions office should have either not specified a date on which to expect decisions, realizing that it's too difficult to predict the schedule, or after the delays happened, communicated in some way (even a FB status update like you said) that the time frame has changed, and that some applicants might not get decisions when they were told.

Where are you guys getting the 45 day wait from..? Is end of January the earliest the next batch of acceptances will be rolled out?

Yes, next back is end of January. This is going by what interviewers who interviewed later were told by the dean. Obviously, we know that this information is not really reliable but that's the best guestimate.
 
when's the next wave of regrets coming out? been marked complete since mid-oct, no news

Same. Last time they sent out 1300 rejections so next wave will be scary haha
 
wtf my status says deadline has passed when i clicked "check my status"....I definitely sent everything in months ago. anybody else have this? I checked before and don't recall seeing this....kind of freaking out


edit: i am really panicking...would really appreciate if someone can help...
 
What's it say below "deadline has passed"? Mine says the following:

Application for Admission (Deadline Has Passed)

Submission Status: Submitted
Submitted Date: 7/2/2013 7:58:00 PM EST

Application Status: Completed on 7/11/2013

Application Fee: Received

It just shows submitted date and fee received but nothing for completed date. I checked all my records, definitely paid the fee. I'll call the school, pretty sure it's a glitch because it says I'm complete on another page.

Strange. For what it's worth, I received an email about a week and a half after my complete date. Subject line says "Confirmation of Complete Application." If you want to completely ease your mind, check your email for that. My point in my original post is that all status-checkers see the "deadline has passed" notification. At any rate, the deadline that just passed is was merely a submission deadline, so even if you aren't complete, you should be fine as long as your submitted date was prior to December 15.

Still nothing. My online secondary status hasn't changed. Where else so tiu check for updates? Are IIs via email?

I don't think their system allows you to check for updates. They'll send all important info via email.

Even though you have to pick one school to go to before May 15th (or April 15th... I think that's when you have to tell CCLCM that you're going?), you can still remain on Hopkins' waitlist and if you get off of it, you can decide at that point whether you want to go to Hopkins or not. 🙂
