So if no update after a November interview does that mean a rejection?
I am sure it does not mean a rejection. It could be that you were waitlisted or maybe even that they did not make a decision for you yet. I don't know what their process is like.

FWIW I interviewed early October, didn't hear anything back during the first round of acceptances, and got the status change yesterday. So I highly doubt you've been rejected! Good luck 🙂

did you submit an update?

did you submit an update?
Yeah I sent them a brief update letting them know that one of my first author publications had been accepted, but I think I sent that before the first round of acceptances.

Like 7ec13, I didn't hear back from the first round, and I think they were looking at my interview date range then. I did not send any updates.

when can those who interviewed earlier nov expect to hear back?

Based on some posts in this thread, some people who interviewed in early November have already been accepted. WashU doesn't have any specific decision release times (that's what they said at my interview); instead, it seems like acceptances are given little by little in order of applicant's desirability for the school 🙂

Does anyone know, is Wash U receptive to pre-interview updates?

So if I interviewed mid-October, should I assume I have been placed on the waitlist?

I don't think so! Perhaps you're not at the "top" of their acceptance list but judging from previous years, those who were skipped over during the first rounds of acceptance often get their offer later 🙂

Crazy, just got a II. Complete July. They're rolling admissions so is it worth going or am I just interviewing for the waitlist?

They seem to have been slow to start interviewing and then schedule only a few weeks out, so I'd be willing to bet you wouldn't be interviewing for waitlist.

Even if you are waitlisted, I met lots of people who got in off the waitlist at my interview.

Hey, I got an II here a couple days back too. According to the last three years, it didn't seem like late January interviewees got anything other than a waitlist or rejection. I could be wrong though.

Is that from MDapps.com?

I can't speak to what you're interviewing for, you should probably decide to go or not go based on your interest in the school. However, I was Wash U undergrad and you should know that usually the Wash U med waitlist is HUGE. There is usually some decent movement, but the size of the list is so large the movement seems much, much smaller.

Applied in July, interviewed in December, accepted this afternoon. LizzyM >77. I really liked WashU and will probably attend the Second Look. It'll be tough deciding between here and the less expensive in-state TX schools.

This isn't a big part of my decision process at all, but I am curious if anything came from the discussions mentioned earlier in the thread about potential changes to the grading system for second year?

Congratulations to you sir!

Did you hear back back via snail mail or some other way?

Phone call from the person who interviewed me (who was a really great guy--I had a fantastic time getting to talk to him in the interview)
Congrats! Did your online status change?

According to previous posts, it says you were accepted on the home page of the application website
Missed that then lol. I was referring to the website where I submitted all the secondaries/forms, etc. there was no update there besides being "complete". I did get a letter the next day though (1 day shipping)

So do you a see a status update on the wums apply site? Just wondering cuz I put my address wrong on the site so I don't know if something got mailed haha.

So yeah on the wumsapply site it does not say acceptance lol. If you got a call maybe give the admissions dept a call and give them your new address

Edit: I think you should get a phone call, right? I also got an email from the md part (and the md/phd admissions but you don't care about that lol). PM me if u need more specifics

I think this has been said before, but your online status does change. It doesn't change to "accepted" but something that essentially asks you to pay a deposit. If I remember correctly, this isn't under the "Check Application Status" tab. I think it showed up on the main page after you sign in. I saw this change before I received a letter (express) in the mail. Maybe you should contact the admissions with your correct address? I don't know if they mail to the AMCAS address or the one you input on the secondary. I didn't receive a phone call, so I'm guessing it doesn't happen to everyone. That being said, I'm MD only, so I don't know if it's different for MD/PhD.

Also, I got an email, but that was several days after I got the letter in the mail.

People with ties to/knowledge of the school:

Is it okay to call it WashU? Is there some other preferred name?

+1. WUSTL ("woostel") is usually used only in the context of website addresses.

I interviewed last week... thoughts on when I could possibly hear back?

No idea. If you look at the previous acceptance posts there doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason discernible to someone outside their admissions process.

I am getting really nervous now, I'm nearly positive that I've been waitlisted. many people who interviewed mid October like me have already heard back with acceptances. I wish they would just go ahead and tell me.

I thought the exact same thing up until last Friday. The one time I checked the portal with no expectations at all was the one time it finally came through. So really, hang in there 🙂

Is Wustl no longer giving out ii's?

I just got an interview invite today! I went here for undergrad, if that makes any difference who knows. The last available date to interview I could sign up for was 2/13.

Don't worry, sometimes it takes them a while to work through all the applications. I believe there were multiple times decisions were sent out before I was accepted, and I also interviewed near the beginning of the WashU cycle.

Is there a Facebook group for accepted students this year? Thanks

There was last year and if I recall correctly it was formed sometime before second look weekend. I assume the same will happen this year, and if I hear anything I will let you know!

Just curious, how do you guys know which days are "decision days"?
