Received an email this morning from the Admissions Office saying that they were in the process of reviewing my App and apologizing for the delay.

I was complete in mid-Sept.

+1 It seems like they're reviewing mid-September applications now.

I interviewed here in early October and my interviewer talked for ~80% of the interview. I tried to talk as much as I could without interrupting and I answered all of the questions but I still spent the majority of the interview listening to my interviewer.

Did anyone else have a similar experience? I didn't know how to feel about it because I didn't really have a chance to sell myself

this may be a very stupid question, but has anyone been asked to upload an unofficial transcript of their current fall semester grades? Which I'm guessing means that my application will not be reviewed until January?

Hi, just checking in post-interview. I fell in love with BU but unfortunately didn't get to spend any time exploring Boston. The city seems really cool though! The interview was very laid back and easy. Only the most basic questions that common sense tells you to prepare for. I didn't get any ethical questions nor any health care policy related questions. I was however, for some reason, extremely nervous during the interview which made me stiff and awkward. It's going to be a long wait until January!

Cool, thanks for the update! I'm interviewing next week and I know I'm going to be super nervous as well. So excited to visit Boston, it'll be my first time on the east coast ever!! 😀

Hopefully you hear good news come Jan!

anyone know the post-interview acceptance rate? my msar expired a month ago....

Rejected just now via email. 34 MCAT, 3.44-3.64 science and non-science GPA, out of state. Bummed to get this second rejection but still have a lot of schools to hear from and it's just nice to get news and move this thing along!

Good luck to everyone else still in the running!

I'm sorry to hear this, would you kindly share when you were complete? Goodluck with the rest of your applications!

Rejected just now via email. Complete 9/29. Good luck to everyone else!

Very similar stats OOS too, and....rejected. Same here lots of apps out there still. Guess its good to know I'm getting somewhere in the lines.

I'm trying to learn as much I can about BMC before the interview. What I already know:

Level 1 trauma center
serves an enormous population
many patients are low SES
Mission to provide care for the disadvantaged
Delivers primary, secondary, and tertiary care

Anyone have additional info and advantages of BMC to add?

No problem, I was complete 9/25 last one I submitted!

Hey all,

BUSM is one of my top choices to go to. Any advice to land an interview ?

II!! 🙂 LizzyM 75+ and complete in July, so there's definitely hope for people who were complete months ago!

Congrats! That's great news, that they're coming back 'round to the early folks...
When is your interview? Best of luck. Everyone I've talked to who goes to BUSM loves it.

So I interviewed yesterday and they said they'd accept 350-400 applicants out of the nearly thousand they're interviewing this cycle, which is a bit more hopeful than the 30% earlier reported on this thread. Overall very inspiring day and I'm in love with Boston. Crossing my fingers for good news come Jan

I interviewed yesterday too, looks like we met each other 😉

Thank you! It's in mid-January, so I'm in the second round of interviews.

I interviewed at BU back at the beginning of October and was frankly underwhelmed with the way they presented the program. Did anyone else feel that way? During lunch with the students I felt like I got a much better idea of the school and the kinds of activities they provide so it somewhat made up for it but it just seemed like the administration didn't really have their hearts in it and it showed. Maybe it was just the particular day I interviewed or something? I am a BU alumni and I love Boston and think that BMC is an amazing place to learn medicine but I was really disappointed with my experience during the interview day. I figured with the kind of reputation BU has that their interview day would blow me out of the water and I would be foaming at the mouth to get in. I'm kind of hoping it was just a one-off and that I'll get a chance to go back and see what it's really like later on in the year (do they do a second look day or anything?). My actual interview was very enjoyable and went well but was with a non-faculty member so she couldn't speak very much to what the school was actually like in detail and that was frustrating as I had some important questions that she wasn't able to answer. If any current students had a similar experience and were proved wrong in their initial impressions please feel free to comment!!! Thanks.

The same thing happened to me. I've asked around and most people respond positively about it. You shouldn't worry too much about it.

I feel i had the opposite experience! BU went up on my list but i also interviewed with the head of the MD/PhD program and I felt he did a fabulous job of selling the school... i was thoroughly impressed. I do know how you feel though, as i had a similar experience at Mayo and wondered if it was just me (like maybe i was having a bad day) but i left that day feeling pretty disappointed. It sucks not having that special experience you were expecting at a school you were initially really excited about! It may just not be your fit but hopefully there will be a school that just wows you! If you are uncertain a 2nd look is certainly in order!

This is helpful! I was definitely feeling like it was more of a fit when we had our student led tour as well as during lunch with the M1s & M2s it was mostly the attitude of the administration (and I was assured by our guide that she chose BU because of how supportive the faculty and everyone is) so I'm a bit torn.

Also rejected. getting used to the disappointed feeling. good luck to all

Anyone know if BU is receptive to in the area emails?
I sent one and got an II. I would send it with a decent amount of notice. I sent mine 4-6 weeks ago saying I'd be in the area for a December interview, and it ended up that I'm interviewing at BU on Wednesday. I hope it fairs as well for you as it did for me. Best of luck!

hey everyone, i have a question regarding BU's md-phd program. is it true that here you can only be considered for md-phd or md-only separately? as in, if you are rejected from md-phd, your application doesn't roll over to the md-only pile? I am asking because it's not clear online and specifically on the app portal this seems to be the case but i've actually never heard of an instance where apps don't automatically roll over. thanks in advance 🙂

Heading to Boston bright and early tomorrow morning and interviewing on Wednesday! I'm excited!

Interviewed here yesterday and looooooved it. The school seems really great, I felt like my interview went well (though I've realized that that doesn't always correlate), the students were really friendly and I really enjoyed Boston. All in all, I'd love to go here. It's obviously pretty competitive, though, so I'm not getting my hopes up. The only minus seems to be the really expensive tuition and high cost of living in Boston.

Interviewed there earlier this week and totally agree. It was impossible not to get excited after listening to Dr. Witzburg and the students talk about BU.

I uploaded my application update / "why BU" letter like 2 weeks ago ( interviewed in late october). I hope it wasn't too late and that they'll see it when they review my file 🙁. Anyone else upload anything recently post interview?

Waiting for January is painfully slow, itll be just slightly depressing getting rejected knowing how good of a fit BU is for me vs other schools that I'd be attending if rejected from BU.
