Yeah this is what I am wondering too... does anyone know?Do all the acceptances usually go out on the same day? Aka does no call = automatic deferral/rejection?

They will send a letter to your email on file with AMCAS stating the committee's decision.Yeah this is what I am wondering too... does anyone know?
Called admissions and they told me I was deferred, so I'm guessing deferral emails will go out today
Deferral emails have gone out. Strange that they aren't rejecting or waitlisting at this point since they are done with interviews...How did you get them to tell you haha she told me to just wait till Monday

I have a few times since getting deferred in winter, moreso just to make sure they don't forget about me. If I lived in Boston, it would be more like this:

Sent mine in a while ago too and still haven't gotten anything... Were there any important details in the confirmation?Just received my confirmation via email. I RSVP'd a while back.

Spoke with finaid last week and they said awards were going out in the mail for anyone who completed before the priority deadline. This was regardless of if you were given a decision or deferred.

I'm wondering the same thing... The AMCAS trafficking rules document didn't explicitly say anything about deferred/UC candidates (they only refer to people deferring entrance for a year, not people waiting for a deferred admissions decision). Does anyone have any input? (I know everything is all hearsay at this point haha)Not to my knowledge. And it doesn't look like they've waitlisted anyone either.
Admissions keeps saying that deferred applicants will know by May 15th, but I thought there was an AAMC rule that all applicants have to be given a decision by April 30? Is that just confusion since they moved the date up this year?
Anyone have any idea if a Letter of Intent would be useful if currently "deferred"?
Deferred basically means wait list. Basically everyone who is deferred gets put on the wait list on May 15th.
My bf applied to tufts 2 years in a row so that's how I know (last yr and the yr before that). I think in mid-late June they finally told him that he did not get off the deferred/wait list. This happened to him 2 yrs in a row. It was pretty painful. I don't understand why the do the deferred list...I think it is false hope.
I know getting in from being deferred is very very rare (sorry to be negative..haha). I've heard this from sooo many people. I do have one friend from undergrad who got in off of the deferred list - so there is hope....
(I am also deferred)
It is depressing and it is false hope. They deferred everyone who wasn't accepted. That means that there is only a very small chance of actually getting accepted right from the deferred status. All just a guess. It's really frustrating at this point that they haven't rejected and waitlisted people since they are done interviewing. I'd assume they know at least some who are rejected. I don't understand why people get strung along with this false hope.Man that's depressing... But I sid receive this in the email:
"Please do not be discouraged; it is not at all uncommon for our committee to place qualified applicants in the “deferred decision” category, and many applicants initially placed in this category will ultimately be admitted"
But if what you say is true, then it really is false hope 🙁
I'm wondering the same. I think that their conduct has bordered on unprofessional. Deferred status and lack of updates aside, financial aid lost my information twice. I called them and calmly told them that I was concerned because my SSN is all over those forms. The individuals I spoke with could not have cared less. As an aside, I mailed my information in in late Feb or early March. They only cared to tell me it was missing just days before the deadline.I'm assuming if I have not received any letter regarding tuition aid by now (i submitted before priority deadline), I will not receive any?
I don't think it makes sense that all deferred applicants would receive financial aid information. That's just unnecessary work for admissions. I doubt any deferred applicants will get financial aid awards when they haven't been accepted.I'm wondering the same. I think that their conduct has bordered on unprofessional. I've been holding an acceptance elsewhere in my back pocket for some time, and it's looking pretty good right now. Tufts was my top choice, but I'm less than impressed with them at the moment.
Sorry for the rant. I feel like I should have started this post with "Dear Diary."
I does make sense that financial aid puts deferred applicants on hold. My issue is primarily with the evident nonchalance with which they handled my information.I don't think it makes sense that all deferred applicants would receive financial aid information. No. But they claimed they didn't have some of the documents I sent them. Luckily, I decided to call last week. They told me this so I had them recheck my email and they found the documents. If you are accepted and haven't heard anything, I would call ASAP. Especially if financial aid could affect your decision.Has anyone received any financial aid offers?
I emailed this morning, no response yet.Anyone deferred spoken with admissions to see when we might get a decision?
I believe deferred people will also be rejected.brace yourself.......... all those "deferred" will be finally... wait listed. 😛 but i'll still keep my hopes up..
