She called and said that they would accept an email and would attach it to her file!
 
For anyone who has interviewed already - I interviewed today, and i'm looking for the link to the survey but cannot find it ANYWHERE. My application status still only says "today is your interview day...etc." Is my brain really so fried from today that I'm just overlooking it, or is anyone else having this issue?

Is this only if you are offered an interview, or can you send updates pre-interview as well?

Yeah when I interviewed they said definitely send updates, because it can't possibly hurt you. The worst they'll do is be like "eh, this doesn't change anything." So they said if you are unsure whether to send the update, just send it.

are you talking about pre-interview or post-interview? or does it really matter?
 
I'm talking about post-interview updates. Idk if they have a different opinion about pre-interview updates, but I'd imagine they are receptive to those as well.
 
When I called they said they do not accept pre interview updates
 
What's the best way to get from Raleigh-Durham airport to hotel (my hotel doesn't offer shuttle)?

Which hotel are you staying at? Some taxi companies in Durham (such as Durham's Best - (919) 680-3330) have a $29 airport ride if you call and say you're a student (I avoid taxis as much as possible because it's still kinda a lot). I'm not sure how much it would be for Uber or Lyft. There is a bus route that can take you from RDU to the Regional Transit Center (RTC) where you can transfer to a bus that goes to Downtown Durham. Every bus ride I believe is $1, but that will take probably over an hour, while a car ride is ~30 min.

Also, I live in Durham (just graduated from Duke in May and am now working in a lab) so if I'm around when you're flying in I'd be happy to pick you up! You can PM me if you want. That goes for any of y'all interviewing at Duke Med!
 
I'm so confused, why is 11/19 the only option for me when people before said that their dates are only in December?
Should I wait for more slots to open? It's just a really inconvenient date for me, or else I'd happily take it

I also received an II today from Duke (was beyond excited). I tried to confirm my invitation spot, but only 11/19 was available for me as well. Whenever I clicked on this date to choose it though I get an error message that says "the interview session you selected is no longer available. Please choose another to continue." Has this happened to anyone else? I'm wondering if there is an error in their computer system. I don't think it would have filled it up or anything because I tried to accept this date within 10 minutes of the email being sent out.

Anyways, I emailed MedAdmin so I'm looking forward to what they have to say! Might call them tomorrow if I become too anxious.

Same thing happened to me. For a minute I thought I waited too long and lost my spot lol. Im going to call in the morning.

Duke just emailed me back. Here was their response:

"Thank you for your email.
We are working to open some additional dates for interviews. Please continue to check back with the system over the next week.
Thanks for your patience,
Duke University School of Medicine
Office of Admissions"

It looks like that interview spot actually did fill up that quickly. So I'll just keep checking the site periodically until they post new dates.

Thanks!! Now I wish I had just selected my interview immediately instead of jumping around for 20 minutes lol. But I'm happy they're adding more interview slots!
 
Does anyone know if Duke updates their status decisions as soon as they're made (even for rejections)? Or do they wait to update the rejection statuses until towards the end of the cycle? I've been complete since the end of July, and there's still no word.
 
Just logged into my portal and saw that i was rejected. Complete early august. Ouch

Same here. Mine was complete on July 21st. Oh well, Duke's secondary was the most frustrating for me so I guess I realistically didn't have much of a chance anyways. Good luck with all your other applications!

You hit the "Access Application" button and it is literally the first thing you will see. They have created a new blue box titled "Application Status" at the very top and that's where I read that I was not selected for an interview.

Sure! I thought the MMI was actually a ton of fun with a good mixture of stations. Everyone who presented to us was great and really thorough, and the tour was really informative too. Incredible school. Interview day definitely won me over

Good to hear! Really excited for mine. Would you say the raters were on the more friendly side and would ask followup questions, or was it a school where they mostly want you to present for 7-8 minutes straight?

Definitely friendly! and more of a conversation than a presentation for sure

Awesome! I'm super excited! I may try to practice some more MMI questions to increase my talking length just in case, as there is always the chance of the one rater who is there to through you off by not saying much, haha. I tend to be very concise (though I do mention many points of view, what my favored solution is, and etc.)

Were you able to schedule your interview? Are others still having this problem? The portal still isn't working for me, Nov 19 is the only option but "is no longer available" (I got one last week).

Got interview last week and I still havent been able to select my interview date
 
Same mine won't work either... Considering sending a follow-up email in the next day or so.
 
I also have the 11/19 date as the only available one, and I can't make that date so I honestly haven't tried to schedule. I'm assuming it's still glitchy, I'll probably email them tomorrow.
 
Am I totally screwed if I literally just finished and submitted my secondary?
