2015-2016 Rosalind Franklin University Application Thread

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Hey guys has anyone been able to find the match list for Rosie Franklin from 2015? I really wanna see what i am signing up for...

This review process is confusing. It seems like they're working with a few different pools, adding and dropping applicants from all of them at different rates. Does anybody know of any other school that uses an interview waitlist? I don't know if I should invest much hope in being a part of it - though they've only extended IIs into mid-March and last year they interviewed until 4/24.

I think all schools use an interview wait list if not always formally. This is certainly the only school I know of which tells you that your part of it. It's also a way to gauge interest on behalf of students who you would like to interview but may not have enough spots to get to them all

Secondary received - July 21st
Secondary sent - Aug 5th
Secondary marked complete - Sept 10th

Utter silence since. No II, not interview waitlist. Just waiting for the rejection now.....

Woah it's so weird that you sent in the secondary 5 days after me but I was complete almost a month before you.

Does anyone know if there is a class of 2020 Facebook group that was created yet?

Was the possible date really like in one day?

Yeah, the earliest one is tomorrow, the rest aren't until March.

EDIT: I got my interview on 1/14. I was able to move from a March interview to a February interview on 1/15.

I spoke with them earlier today to try and move my interview and tomorrow was one of the open options.

I also spoke with them earlier today and decided to move my date to tomorrow morning. I am local so it worked out. I was told they typically get cancellations 1-2 days before selected dates and most interviews are on Fridays. Hope this info helps. Maybe I will see some of you tomorrow!

I am seeing a lot of acceptances from post-interview wait-list and rarely any rejections.
Is it hopeful to say a post-interview wait-list is a good position to be in?
Any comments on this, anything?
From previous experience, what was the success you all have seen from the wait-list in this school?
I've been on it since early December.

You can go back to previous year's threads and check that out. Seems like quite a bit of movement from the wait-list later in the spring.

The school administration usually creates a Facebook group for all matriculating students some time in the spring and then they bow out so the students can have at it!

idk but if it is im going to join!
are you/anyone going to accepted students weekend 1/22-1/23?

Here is the recently created Facebook page. I emailed the admissions people and they let me know that there will be another accepted students day in March. I will probably go to that one because a flight from California to Chicago in a weeks time is extremely expensive.

II off the interview wait list just now!!
Wow congrats!! I'm on the interview waitlist too. Just got on it somewhat recently though. Really wondering what my chances are. I'd have to fly all the way from California. Hope it isn't too short of notice! So there are several dates available in March?

Do you mean 2/15?

Thank you! Yes, there are a few in March and several in April. And no, I meant 1/15, as in today I was able to change my interview date to a date in February, even though yesterday the first date open was in March. Sorry if that was confusing!

Oh my bad haha. I read it wrong. Thanks for the clarification! 🙂

Also was put on the interview waitlist on Tuesday. Complete 9/30, LizzyM 72, OOS.

This is confusing for me... they have several dates available in March and April, so I'm not sure why they're still putting people on the interview waitlist, or why more people aren't hearing back. I haven't heard of anyone else recently receiving an interview, either. I have no explanation for this. Ideas?

Perhaps some people have not yet chosen their dates, or they have an error margin.

I'm wondering about this too. Maybe they're still reviewing applicants and want to save those spots in case they find superb candidates they really want to interview before filling them with people on the waitlist. I'm on the interview waitlist too and really, really hope I get an II. Best of luck to everyone!

So for the open house this Friday and Saturday, are both days the same thing? Any more specifics about what the day will look like?

Tbh, if this is just the same as the open house I went to a week before my interview day, I don't know if I need to go. I want to go and learn more about the specifics of CMS. I find it odd that the school has not contacted me to tell me anything about it...

i think it may be different because it's for accepted students versus just a generic open house. the itinerary is:
Friday, January 22, 2016
  • As Scheduled: One-on-One Sessions with Financial Aid
  • 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM: Welcome Reception in the Scholl Feet First Museum (Please enter through Morningstar Entrance.)
Saturday, January 23, 2016
  • 8:30 AM: Check-In and Continental Breakfast. (Please enter through Rothstein Warden Centennial Learning Center.)
  • 9:00 AM: Welcome to RFUMS!
  • 9:30 AM: Interprofessional Lecture
  • 10:00 AM: University & Housing Tour - OR- Financial Aid Presentation
  • 10:45 AM: Program Overview & Student Panel
  • 11:45 AM: Closing Remarks

please let me know if that is the same as ur open house day!

Thank you so much! I am not sure why I did not get this information? The open house was basically a couple talks from the dean and someone else, q&a with the dean, a tour, and more q&a with current students. So this sounds different for sure. Thanks! So do you think it best to go both days? I think I can only swing going on Saturday, not sure yet

If I go, I'll be brining my SO.

I think I'll just go Saturday. I don't need a one on one financial meeting so they can tell me how indebted i'm going to be 😉

Are there more of these same open houses later? I assume so. I have not heard anything about it and was accepted more than a month ago

Secondary submitted mid August. Complete mid September. No update since, not even for an interview waitlist. Went to an open house a couple of years ago and really loved it! Really hoping for a II here!

I'm not sure if I missed this somewhere in the thread, but where are people getting the information about the accepted students open house? I was accepted about a month ago, but I haven't received any info about these.

Thanks.

Well I haven't heard s**t from them and I'm well past the 8-10 weeks they said in the email. Can't say that creates a favorable impression on me.

Same here..been a few months since i received this email. Does anyone know if it would it be a good idea to call and see if there any update?

I heard about it when I got the acceptance phone call from a student rep... haven't heard anything else beyond that...

In addition to financial aid appointments during the day, the Friday evening (5-7PM) reception will be about student life. You will hear from student leaders on campus about what they do. So come on Friday if you want to hear more about that.

If you're an accepted student and you haven't heard anything about this event at all, maybe try calling admissions?

I've tried calling but they're always busy. How do we set up a financial aid appointment? I got the e-mail about the FB page so I don't understand why they can't just send us another e-mail with the details...
