2015-2016 Washington University in St. Louis Application Thread

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I just got an email that another school has requested my certiphi background report. I'm hoping that school is WashU. Does anyone know if this is a good sign?

Are you waitlisted at any other schools?

My WUMS apply account no longer works - I guess that means they've removed me from the waitlist?

Well, my login doesn't work either, and I am (theoretically) still on the waitlist... does this mean WashU has finalized its class?

I am still holding out hope for this school while completing all the reqs for my state school. I kind of wish they'd just break my heart so I can start the healing process. 🙁

Same. I'm quite flexible and willing to matriculate at days notice....so I'm holding out hope.

Mainly for future applicants' references, I got my rejection email yesterday 7/29, just a few days before orientation on 8/1.

As a WUSM M1 student, I'm going to say that you should answer them. Pretend they are interview questions - would they be optional? "Describe a time or situation where you have been unsuccessful or failed." Everybody has failed at one point or another, so in my opinion, that's not optional. The other question about "unique experiences or obstacles that you have overcome" is optional because this does not apply to everybody.

Thank you so much! 🙂
You're welcome. Keep in mind that these two questions are truly "optional" (i.e. based on previous people's posts, people have gotten in without answering them), but I think it's a waste if they apply to you and you don't answer them. In my opinion, answering them gives the admissions committee more information to advocate for you (ex. your insight, maturity, etc.) to get an interview and possibly acceptance.
