Is it really another 8-10 weeks after getting the complete email?

I got the complete email on 8/25 and was told it would take 4-6 weeks to hear back about interview status. Today is exactly 6 weeks since that email. Is this normal or should I interpret this as a rejection?

got a pre-interview hold email yesterday 🙁 app complete 7/10

I'm at 9 weeks since I received my complete email. That happened last year too...

It's not over until you hear something official from the school saying it's over.

They also interview to April. Things seem long now, but that's important to keep in mind.

After October 15th and through the end, interviewing will be a different animal. MD acceptances can go out then. Unless people are limited by finances, at this point, people are generally taking whatever interviews they have because there are no official outcomes from others previous. After October 15th, though, people tend to be more choosy, or get into their favorite schools, etc and the list moves faster, people turn down interviews at a greater rate.... and the interview pool starts moving a lot quicker. It won't just be that way here, but everywhere.

Same here :/
What's weird is that the original complete email said 8-10 weeks, and I'm at week 9 for that time frame.

I just got a secondary this morning. So we will see how long it will take to get complete!

I called the admissions office today as I submitted my app in early August and never received a complete email. They said my app was complete last month and they weren't sure why I did't receive an email. There may just be a lag in their system for sending out the complete emails.

:biglove:Just received the complete email! Submitted secondary 8/5.

Interesting. So we were actually complete a month before receiving the email?

Does anyone know what was your total expense in attending the interview? I am trying to see the cheaper options in terms of travel and accomodations.

Also, could someone please help me out on how stressful the interview will be? I know it is MMI and I don't know really how to prepare or what to expect environment wise.

For my interview on 9/9, I flew into O'Hare from the West Coast on 9/8 evening and got a rental car. I flew out of O'Hare right after my interview. The rental car was about $120 and I stayed with a family through Airbnb for about $60/night. The place is in Waukegan and so it was about a 15 min drive to the school. So overall it was just under $200 for transportation and lodging. I like having a rental car for my interviews because I am in more control as compared to catching an uber/lyft/taxi.

Also, Rosalind Franklin is only a 30 minute drive from O'Hare:

Received my first ever II in two application cycles four days ago right before a trip. I could cri. How long did it take to receive a confirmation email/more information about the interview date? I scheduled my interview four days ago and even though it says confirmed on the website, I haven't gotten an email about any additional information or confirmation. I want to book my flight soon lol.

I drove from MN and have a cousin in Chicago I stayed with, so my cost was about $60..

As far as the interview.. there's really not much of a way to prepare. You have no idea what the interview prompts are.. so just making sure you can be comfortable talking at someone for 5 straight minutes about a topic. Build an outline in your head and go for it.

Be prepared for blank faces to your responses. You shouldn't be able to tell how you're doing. Be prepared to have your answers challenged. You could have great answers, but part of the interview is to make sure you can defend them. Look up MMI's and the type of questions you might find during them.

5 minutes goes by fast. Start with crux of your argument, the stuff you definitely don't want to leave out and move from there.

Some of the questions might seem simple at first. They're never simple. If you find the question simple, you're probably missing some dimension. Look for it. I wouldn't say that you need to be concerned with being comfortable with talking for 5 minutes, IMO. If you really can't possibly think of anything else to say, they may just stare at you blankly for a bit. You can interact and ask if they have any further questions for you, instead of allowing that to happen. However, keep in mind that, again, none of the questions is usually that simple. There is probably something else there even if you can't come up with it.

I believe Rosalind Franklin removes your lowest session score and averages the rest. You have a little of a fudge factor if you feel like you totally bomb one. Also, there is a great advantage that you have a fresh start with that particular interviewer in each room you enter.

Keep in mind, I have not interviewed here yet this year, however, I have been through 2 MMI style interviews.

I reallyyyyyyyy hope this is true

Anybody with a 10/28 AM interview want to share a hotel/airbnb? 🙂

Has anyone else received an "on hold for re-review" email? I guess it was just nice for them to update me. Ugh. Secondary submitted 7/12, Received complete email 8/12, LizzyM ~70, I guess this update is within the 8-10 week window.

I think I got the same as you! It's not the same as the on hold email given to the others (example in thread).
Was it:

Does anyone know if they are receptive to "in the area" e-mails?

Yup! That's the one. It's the nicest hold email. Maybe they'll remember me in February before it's all said and done.

Then either they changed that for this year or I was misinformed at my interview last year.
They have changed it. During my interview, an MS2 told us that they used to drop the lowest score, but now everything gets averaged.

There shouldn't be any blank faces. I thought that the interview was very relaxed and I am grateful that they provided water during the circuit. I don't know how I did, but I had positive vibes from the interviewers. I had an MMI interview prior to Rosalind, and during that interview, I felt like I was being grilled the entire time.

I did get blank faces from a couple of mine and did get warned of that ahead of time as well. Again, may be another change.

Rejected. Not too upset as I have gotten interviews at all my top choices and have one acceptance. Good luck everyone!

It's been 10 weeks from my completion email as of today. I hope to hear news soon. Hopefully good news! 🙂
