I'm a BMS student who currently lives in Woodlands. Of the people I know, 90% either live in student housing or Woodlands, with others living at Deer Valley, Forest Pointe, Navy housing, or somewhere else. If proximity vs washer/dryer is your only hangup between Woodlands/Deer Valley, I'd go Woodlands. Assuming all buildings are like mine, the way washer/dryers are is that there is one laundry room per stairway with two washers and two dryers. Each stairway has 12 apartments, but some of the Woodlands apartments have their own laundry, so it is split between less units. I've lived here 6 months, and only once have I gone to do laundry and had to wait. It's $1.25 to run the washer and $1.25 to run the dryer, so depending on how much laundry you are planning on doing, that might be something to consider too.
If anyone has any Woodlands questions, I can try to answer them. I like living here for the location, my apartment is huge, and it is relatively quiet. They are good about maintenance and seem to listen to feedback. For next year they adjusted the rent down to closer fit the market, and they are installing free wifi for all apartments. The only negatives for me is that it is overpriced, the appliances are old, and I live on the third floor with no elevator.
