2016-2017 Rosalind Franklin University Application Thread

Based on the once a month pattern I'm gonna guess they are gonna have the next huge wave of decisions come out sometime next week!
Is it sad that yesterday I spent more time tracking II dates, and when they receive a response via this thread, than the time I spent actually working at work?!

Based on my calculations it looks like they get back to us approx 5 weeks after the oldest interview batch that they have yet to review. In this case, that group was Oct 28th interviewees; so based on that, I predict we'll get a response either today or Monday for groups who interviewed on Oct 28th and Nov 4th.

...I guess I should get back to work now

It's not sad, I appreciate you doing the legwork for the rest of us! Thank you for sharing your findings :highfive:

I think at my interview they said 6 weeks so it could be another 2 weeks! I hate waiting!!
Yeah I interviewed on November 4th and they said 6 weeks but I'm pretty sure they say that to everyone without accounting for the pattern of when the adcom meets. I think November 4th has a good chance of fitting into their next meeting at the beginning of December since last time they got through most of October

I could certainly also be completely wrong though, just speculating based on the pattern they have been following.

It was two months for me. I submitted my secondary august 18th and didn't receive the complete email until October 25th. Although, I think they are moving faster now since they have fewer apps to process. I read a couple of posts that said it was more like four weeks for people now. Hope this helps!

It does, thanks for responding to me man

Ahh good point. Thanks for that

Just wondering, for anyone who was accepted (congrats btw!) did you feel like you nailed every MMI station? Or is it okay if I feel like I may not have on one or two...

(Not accepted to RFU) The whole point of MMI's is that you can bomb a section and not be hurt by interviewer bias because of the large number of stations.

Missed a call from a Chicago phone number today... now I'm freaking out. No answer when I tried to call back. Interviewed oct 28th

Definitely felt that way!!! Felt great for some, and a bit uneasy about others. Fingers crossed for ya!!! 🙂

yup, me lol

They do as people have been rejected previously in this thread but this school takes forever to get back to you so don't think you're rejected until you are
Just curious, why do you think you bombed the interview? and how did they notify you of the rejection?...I feel like I bombed the interview as well.

You can look up the number in google. I'm
Not sure if Cms does phone calls i'm pretty sure it's emailed.
Yeah I haven't seen anyone reporting getting phone calls at this point and plus they would most likely leave a message. And yeah, I would just google the number to know.

Its a multitude of factors but I didn't answer questions with the most politically correct answer even though I backed up my answers with logic and research. I followed the advice of others of "be yourself" which is complete BS for MMI format. Answer politically correct.

They notify you via email. Best of luck and hopefully you aren't rejected

Anyone that was accepted hear anything about a Facebook group or next steps? Since the acceptance email months ago, I haven't heard anything.

It's almost 8 weeks after my completion email XD
When they say they will update you in 8-10 weeks, does that mean let you know if you are granted an interview or rejected? or just where in the process of being reviewed it is? Thanks in advance guys 🙂 love this school and what it stands for 🙂

It's when you're supposed to hear back for an update. Whether II or not I have no idea 🙄

this might be a dumb question, but what's the best way to get to RFU from Chicago (river north area)

Google says to take the purple line to Main, then take the North commuter rail to lake bluff where there's a shuttle? Can anyone local help me out on this? thanks!

I took the Metra (Union Pacific North line) from Chicago OTC to Lake Bluff. When I got to the Lake Bluff station the RFU shuttle wasn't there so I called an Uber, which took me to school. Not sure if you have to schedule the RFU shuttle or how often it comes, but you might want to check on that. Also as a side note, you can order an Uber in Lake Bluff, but not in North Chicago where the school is (apparently that is out of their zone). An Uber will however pick you up in Lake Bluff and drop you off in North Chicago, just not the other way around. Hope that info is helpful! Good luck!

You can find the train schedules here: https://metrarail.com/maps-schedules

II today but I already have an acceptance from a school above CMS on my list. I would have declined but given the circumstances, I will be interviewing at another school in Chicago this week. As luck would have it, there is another interview slot available this Friday. Aside from maybe a better FA package, I don't think I see myself going here. Can any current students or interviewed applicants shed some light on the school and their interview experience to help me make a decision to or not to attend the interview on 12/9?

Anyone know if there were any interview slots after 12/9 but before the New Years? They're not showing up on the portal. Is it because they're filled or they just don't do interviews due to the holidays?

It's honestly probably a bit of both. I know a bunch of schools have around the same availability now.

Congrats on the II! When were you complete by the way?

Anyone know when the comittee meets this month? Also anyone on hold status post-ii?

Interviewed here last Friday in the morning. I really enjoyed the environment and facilities we were shown. The staff and students were very approachable. Some faculty even came down after the interview day for the lunch to chat with the interviewees! I am sad that the new curriculum will not start until next year, so this incoming class will have the traditional stuff.

Unfortunately I also felt I botched a few of the interview questions, like 3 out of 8. A shame. There were some very thought-provoking questions to consider. Considering how low of a matriculation rate the school has, I suspect I will be WL or rejected.

Interviewed last Friday as well, but in the afternoon. I felt the same way as you, about both the school and the interview. Here's to hoping the best for both of us. I would love to attend this school.

Thanks! Complete some time in August.

Don't even worrrry about the 3 botched stations. I felt the same way and was accepted!! My fingers are crossed for ya, I loved the environment so much 🙂

Not sure when the committee meets per se, but at my interview Friday they told us we should hear back in 4-6 weeks.

They told us the same thing. It'll be 6 weeks as of this Friday for the next batch, so hopefully those of us who have interviewed late Oct/early Nov will hear back soon.

Since more IIs came out today, I'm putting my money on the next wave of post interview decisions coming out within the next couple days. They seemed to previously always release IIs the day before post I decisions.

Excellent! I'm keeping my fingers crossed for all of us!

Is any part of the interview day outside? I'm worried about not having a coat for the cold weather.

No, none of the tours actually take you outside (though I guess they can if you asked for it) but my interview took place during the fall and we didn't go outside. They have a closet where everyone had put their jackets and bags, so if you do need a coat, you can always grab it from there, though I doubt you will.

Edit: Typo

No. In fact the student giving the tour made sure to point out that all the buildings on campus are connected, so that you don't have to go outside when it's cold.

For those who interviewed, do you guys have hotel recommendations?

I recommend you avoid the days inn (great lakes.) I've been to many days inns and others and that was probably the worst hotel I've ever been to.

I got rejected pre-II right after I emailed asking for my status... lol

I really wanted to get in though (as I am currently in the midwest!)

No! I'm really sorry to hear that. Do you mind sharing when you were complete?
