Yaassssssss. You too?Wednesday by chance?
Yeah it hasn't changed from what I've heard. I interviewed last month and it was a great experience. The staff was really friendly and I got the sense they genuinely wanted us to do well on the interview. Best of luck!I was just wondering if anyone could describe the vibe they felt there ya know? But if it hasn't changed then last years thread should hold a lot of info! Thank you!
Wat are you guys considering a "low" mcat? This is sdn so I'm assuming you mean anything below 509+? Or do you mean 4XX low?
+1I'm talking about low 500's. Like 503 and under.
Cool see you there!!Same!
You betcha!!! See ya there!Yaassssssss. You too?

I think it would count if it was clinical research (e.g. you interacted w/ patients). I didn't list my research since it wasn't clinical."very brief description of medically related experiences "
does this include research experience?
I had my interview today. For anyone with an interview in the future, do your best to not stress! It's seriously so enjoyable. Everyone from the students to the interviewers really went above and beyond to make us comfortable. Hoping for some IS love now! 🙂
Our group was told we likely wouldn't hear anything until Thanksgiving. Hoping for the best! I would love to be a Hawkeye!Happy you had a good experience.
Your interview is probably too late to hear back on day one, but for people who interviewed a few weeks ago . . . it is possible!

What a treat that would be! Thinking back I was so impressed with everything. What an awesome school! It could always be earlier though.
When I interviewed I was told no sooner than six weeks, but heard back in four!
I've never heard of an outright rejection this early. You'll either be accepted at some point during the rolling phase (which lasts until late January) or final-pooled (in late January). It can be a long or short wait.So I interviewed very early. Do we know if they will be sending out rejections right away or will I only hear if it's a yes?
I remember them releasing acceptances on the first day allowed last year, but I also remember them saying during my interview this year (9/19) that the way the admissions committee meetings are set up this year, we shouldn't bank on hearing from them until 6 weeks later at the earliest. But I think there's a chance people will hear back on the 17th!
Do you think that was to your advantage? It is later in the cycle so I opted to interview sooner and declined the later diversity day interview.Hi everyone, M1 student here. I had a conversation with someone from admissions this week and they told me that they would be sending out first round of acceptances either on the 17th or 18th so keep your eyes open! Don't lose hope if you just interviewed, last year I got my acceptance a week and a half after interviewing but admittedly I attended the Diversity day interview day so that could have had something to do with it. Good luck!
How oos friendly is this program?
Only a ~66 LizzyM. Should I still apply?More than most public schools with almost 30% OOS.
Did they email you?
Are you URM?Only a ~66 LizzyM. Should I still apply?
No.Are you URM?
You can give it a shot if you have the extra money for it. Why not? Iowa is awesome. Are you from the Midwest?

How far do you think playing a college sport goes as far as ec'sYou can give it a shot if you have the extra money for it. Why not? Iowa is awesome. Are you from the Midwest?
I think it depends on how you incorporate it into your application. It can be very positive. How far do you think playing a college sport goes as far as ec's
Could help being only a state away.Yeah, live in Missouri and go to school in Kansas.
It definitely helps! This is only my opinion, but that takes some serious time management which is really respectable! How far do you think playing a college sport goes as far as ec's
I haven't heard anything, or seen anything different in my portal either! The suspense is killing me!Has anyone noticed anything on their portal or called to ask about whether or not there's a possibility of hearing today? Shakin' in my boots! 😉
Gingy I'm pulling for you today/tomorrow! Im pulling for all of you guys really! They usually release acceptance decisions around 3 PM CST or shortly thereafter. C'mon, Carver!
I was a student athlete in college- I had my head coach write one of my letters. I got an interview here... so I'd like to think it helps! How far do you think playing a college sport goes as far as ec's

3.85gpa and 506 mcat, worth applying here as an OOS?
Out of curiosity, how many IS acceptances are handed out on average? I'd assume not much more than 100 but I'm curious. If you have the ECs and personality to back it up, then yes. Nearly 1/3 of our class is OOS.

For those of you who have had an interview, it's one session with two interviewers for 25 minutes total, correct? It just seems like a very short time to me
