I would book a hotel and a flight ASAP. Houston is very nasty to drive through. It's manageable if you're nearby though. Houston is a huge metropolitan city, so flights and hotels are ubiquitous. See if UTH has any parternships with hotels. Your time might be too short notice to stay with a student, unless you know someone personally in Houston.

Stats: LizzyM 75, IS, completed 9/26

So now that I've calmed down just a tad bit - I'm lucky that I live just outside of Houston so it'll just be a drive. I'm just flustered because having 2-day notice for your first interview is nerve-wracking. Reading through the thread the interview seems to be laid back so I'm hoping for a good experience!

If it makes you feel better, the only dates they opened for me were 10/21, 10/28, and 11/4 so theoretically dates after that have not been scheduled yet!

I hope so...between this and the other Texas schools..I feel like things are going in slooooooooooooooooooow mooooooooooooooootiiiiiiiiiiiiioooooooooooon. No activity!

I think it's more of a steady trickle now. It seems like this school is sending out IIs but in small weekly batches rather than a big burst like UTHSCSA did.

I am also sitting at 2 TX IIs. Although I've talked to multiple people in the past who have received TX interviews all the way into December, so I'm not too worried yet.

I have also received 2 II from Texas schools. But then again, my TMDSAS application was transmitted slightly late in the application cycle. Hang in there you guys 🙂

I love Glenn and Maggie together, but Daryl is my favorite character. The transformation he made from the first season with Merle to becoming Rick's right hand man. Not to mention he is gorgeous.

UPDATE: Had to switch off TWD bc I was crying too much. So depressing.

Also, does anyone have advice about renting a car or not? I'm staying at a hotel nearby. Trying to figure out if I should rent a car or just Uber/Lyft. I fly in to Bush International if that helps.

Houston traffic is bad. Parking around medical center is expansive and hard to fine. I would recommend using uber. From iah it is about $30-40 to med center.
 
Does anyone know why Houston does not have a ranking on US News for primary care?

I flew in there as well. I got lucky, and the student that I stayed with was willing to pick me up from there. However, there is a shuttle that you can take for around $12 that will put you right next to the TMC (they called it the Blue Shuttle?) that everyone from the school was talking about. They should have some other information in the invite on how to get there. If you emailed them and asked for the information I'm sure that they would be more than willing to help as well.

I would agree with @HopeBest that it would be much wiser to use an Uber/taxi/shuttle than to rent a car and try to find parking.

I would rent a car. I live in Houston and you can't really get around the city without a car. Parking in the garages in the med center is $12 and they aren't too hard to find. There's actually 2 garages next to the school, one on the same side of the street next to it and the other across the street.

You could also ride the train. It is $3 to park at the Fannin South station and you stay on for 5 stops until you get to the Memorial Hermann Hospital/Houston Zoo stop and the school is right there. The address to the Fannin South station is 1604 West Bellfort
Houston, TX 77054.

Oooh no. No Glenn jokes, my heart can't handle it 🤔🤔. I was so upset! I'll just transfer my support to Maggie now haha.

Also still hoping for an interview here! I was complete a looong time ago in either late May or early June, so I feel like I may not get an interview here. But, there is still a chance!
