Congrats! But if you’re going to attend, you should probably get used to calling it Duke University School of Medicine. Or DUSoM. Or just DukeMed. Just so you know. 😉

For what it’s worth - I am fairly certain that calls are randomly split up with no rhyme or reason and the timing depends upon the committee member calling. I know the waiting sucks but an email (whenever those are sent out) is the definitive notification.

Accepted to PCLT!!!!!!! Absolutely thrilled and humbled! My phone caller made it sound like she was the only one making calls for PCLT right now and had only recently started calling. She also spent quite a while on the phone with me, so it might take her a while to get to everyone. Keep the faith 🙂
 
Just received the call. Accepted to PCLT!!!! I am sososo excited! Wishing the best of luck to all PCLT applicants. Also it does seem that only one person is doing the calls. So hang in there!

It seems possible that they would call out half the PCLT acceptances this evening, half tomorrow, right? Surely, one has to believe!

I didn't get a call either. I'm vracing for the worst and honestly I'm really saddened. Very excited for the acceptees though. They truly deserve it

Dang! Where did you get that number from? I was thinking that a way lower percentage of phone calls had gone out. Any current students who could provide a better estimate?

Pulled it out of my ass based on assumptions from this and last years thread so take it with a grain of salt 😛 I sure hope a way lower percentage has gone out!!
 
Did anyone else get an email, "Important information about your Duke Application"? I'm abroad and in the dark for calls, and I also don't find anything when I log onto the link they sent me lol
 
oh now we're getting emails :smack: If anyone gets a call, would you mind asking this question? Will be forever grateful to you. Please and thank you :help:

Got the acceptance call earlier today and also received that email (with a link that didn't lead to anything meaningful about my application), so maybe you'll hear good news Monday! Also checked my portal and it wasn't updated yet.

This makes me believe that those who did not get a phone call are even less likely to get an acceptance now - or else emails wouldn't have gone out with calls today.
 
Googled it and the website about NetID said you don’t get one unless you’re accepted. “accepted students who matriculate will be given a ...upon matriculation” Sooooo I’m also starting to think it’s over.

Anyone get a call but no email? Or no call but an email? May be grasping at straws here
 
Hey guys, current student here. Calls were NOT completed today. Different faculty members are making the calls and many of them did not get to call today due to teaching/work and will be finishing on Monday. Only the people who were called got their confirmation email.

I got a call but no email, was told on the phone that I’d get an email with all that info on Monday. Could just be a glitch or something, who knows haha

I really hope this isn’t a troll. Joined today and only 1 post. PLEASE DON’T MESS WITH MY HEART!
 
First PCLT accepted post at 5:02PM EST. Claimed they received acceptance about 20 min before, so roughly 4:40 start time + indicated there was likely one caller who was just getting started. PCLT aims to accept 16 students each year (with a goal of 8 matriculants). Other acceptees said caller spoke for quite some time. Lets say 10 min/call, for 16 calls would be 2 hours 40 min. Last recorded acceptance at 6:20, which is a 1 hour 40 min call window. Of course, not all acceptees would post here, but, for a busy family physician after a long week, splitting up the roughly 3 hour calling job into 2 chunks of 90 min seems...possible. Pair that with saturday pclt acceptances last year...its not over until its over friends.
 
This is my first post on SDN, but wanted to give some more info. I got the call yesterday at 11am ish, and my friend got the call yesterday 5pm ish. Times in EST
 
For those accepted by phone yesterday, did you actually receive a confirmation email? Mine was only to thank me for submitting my application— no written indication that I got accepted, tho I did get the call! Haha.

Can we assume anyone that didn't get an email about the Duke ID got rejected/waitlisted? Or are they waiting until they make the calls to send those out?
 
extremely fortunate to get an acceptance, absolutely love this school! does anyone know when duke will tell students if they get any merit aid (is it same time as the admissions offer) and/or whether duke is even the tiniest bit receptive to matching scholarship offers?

i didn't get an email about duke ID or anything at all (but i did get a phone call yesterday, though)....not sure if that info helps in any way

I’m starting to think its done too. Cause I think either emails went out or calls even if they didn’t get to everyone.

Someone mentioned here that they haven't gotten to everyone and will finish Monday. But I don't know if that is a reliable statement. He/she said she is a current student.

I’m just wondering how they would know. The doctors making the calls out and about announcing they didn’t finish?

You and me both. It doesn't seem to be something they would share with any medical student unless they were part of the committee. Not bringing up my hopes on it though.
