Yeah this put me in a bad mood. You have The list of who’s in and who’s not, just rip the bandaid off already. They’ve been dragging us along since Thursday. lol

Feels like a slap in the face to not even get the rejection email. The fact that Duke can't even muster up enough energy to send out a mass rejection email in a timely manner to inform those of us who won't be attending is just insulting.

Agreed. This was one of the more difficult applications and it took a long while to put together. They should not leave us hanging like this. I knew my chances were slim as I interviewed pretty late in the cycle (late January), but still....

I realize this may come across as overly anal haha, but I'm genuinely curious. When I texted the .pdf to my dad, I noticed it was titled with WL-1 at the end; I'm wondering if everyone has WL-1 or whether others have WL-X (indicating some sort of tier system). I do not intend to start mass chaos in this thread; just trying to (possibly) help out!

Dude I have WL only, and wouldn't even think twice about it if not for your comment!!! But my bf has told me all the time throughout this cycle: "just wait until the end (not when you get accepted but financial aid as well)" I'd put Duke in a distant land until, well, the end.

It might be due to multiple attempts at downloading the file, as in file1.pdf, file2.pdf etc. Mine just says WL as well

I find it pretty ironic that in the rejection email, the Director of Admissions' signature includes the quote "The only limits in our life are those we impose on ourselves"...kinda feeling like Duke just imposed a hard limit on me

Does anyone know what the schedule is for the second look weekend? All I can find online is the schedule for MD-PhD students. (Trying to figure out when to book plane tickets for)

If you're MD only, just use the schedule from Friday-Sunday. It is correct (as far as I know):

No uploading, just FAFSA and CSS profile. Once you've completed the CSS profile, you'll need to upload some documents directly to the CSS Profile website.

For all who are planning on flying to second look weekend, just wanted to throw a tip out there that if you have the ability to fly Southwest from your town to RDU it's a great option. They have their own terminal at RDU and its never, ever, ever, been a problem getting into and out of for me, short lines for security etc!
Congrats once again to all who got an acceptance!

Also I live in the RDU area, and I'd be more than happy to pick up 2-3 people from the airport (its a 10 min drive away for me) and take them to their hotel instead of paying for a cab. PM me if interested. I can also take you around Chapel Hill for extra fun the night before 😉

In one of the emails Duke sent us, there's a link to a registration form. It asks questions about whether we'd like to stay with a student host.

I know chances are low and maybe like 1-2 people get off the waitlist a year, but I'd like to update Duke on some of my lab achievements. I've been listed as author on two additional publications since my interview. However, these papers are under review and not accepted. Should I attach a copy of the manuscripts to the email? Or just state the name of the journal and title of publication? I was also going to let them know they are my first choice but idk if that will do anything

I just sent them an update yesterday about a recent 1st author pub. They got back to me pretty quickly saying it was added to my file. Hoping the best for the both of us.
