Accepted this morning! I didn’t think I’d get accepted here seeing as how i felt I did a horrible terrible job on my interview lol. I wanted to run out and cry mid interview because I felt like my interviewer didn’t like my answers but I’m so glad I was wrong.

I actually got an email from Jose Espada for financial aid this morning and it said for accepted students so I was like maybe this is an error, then I checked my portal and it said accepted.

My stats are:
OOS
507 MCAT
3.9 GPA

Accepted! I also felt that my interview went terrible because one of my interviewers was doodling while I was responding to questions.. but apparently not! I'm SO SO HAPPY! 🙂 Can't wait to meet everyone and congrats to everyone else accepted!

Hey when did you interview

When I log on to the application portal to rank my campus assignments, I have to log in another time with a IU Network ID. For people who have been accepted, were you given an ID and password? Or did I make one and forget the password? I had an IU account years ago when I did an internship through IUSM, but I figured it had been deactivated or something. Thanks guys!

Does anyone know if IU has sent out any info about student hosts yet?

Curious, if you apply EDP, can you also be considered as a regular applicant? I seen a previous poster say they were deferred. What does that mean? Sorry if its a dumb question.

Congrats to everyone who's been accepted this cycle!

You can be deferred to regular applicant pool if you apply ED. Basically, at that point post interview, you can apply to other schools at that point and you are shifted into discussion at IU with everyone else who applied regular decision.

Does anyone know if IU offers tours of the Indy campus to students who have been accepted after interviewing at satellite campuses?

I am not too sure considering my interview is next week at a satellite campus, but don’t they offer tours regardless? I feel like you can just schedule a tour on their website whether you’ve been accepted or not.

If you are admitted and write back to accept your admission, can you rescind your acceptance? Or is it binding?

Yeah, just send them an email, going off of last years thread. You should prob include your name and AMCAS ID

Don’t sweat it too much, man. Just be yourself and answer questions as honestly and concisely as you can. You’ll do great.

Happy new year all!

Any advice for the Terre Haute interview day?

Does anyone know what day of the month the admissions committee meets? I have heard two different dates, the 1st of the month and the 15th of the month.

Thanks!
I think the 15th is when they aim for sending things out. Not sure when the actual meeting is, but it’s usually the 15th +/- 2 days when Ppl get those acceptance envelopes from what I can tell.

They meet on the 15th. My acceptance was postmarked on the 16th of November and I received it on the evening of the 20th.

Ok y’all. I need help on my suit color combination.

Do you like gray suit, red tie, white shirt

or

gray suit, yellow tie, blue shirt or white shirt

In my opinion I vote for the red combo. When are you interviewing?

Late to the party, but accepted! OOS app interviewed 11/9 and was accepted around 12/15. 509 MCAT, cGPA 3.81, sGPC 3.72, and no mentioned ties in my application but I have a cousin who practices there. Extremely excited and hoping to be placed in Indy. Let me know if I can help with any interview questions or anything like that!

me too. How have you been preparing? and what campus are you interviewing at?
Indianapolis

I’ve answered core questions multiple times
1. Why indiana
2. Why medicine
3. Biggest problems in medicine
4. Tell me about yourself
5. What have you been doing in your time off

Finally I’ve now started to look at my personal statement and my AMCAS application. I describe experience out loud and get it fresh in my mind. I’m doing that because if they ask me anything about that experience, it’s fresh in my mind and since I know everything there is about it, I can answer any question about that experience.

For the people that interviewed today, did they say when we should expect to hear back?

Also if anyone is interviewing at Indy 1/10, don’t be afraid to say hi.

I’m going to try and be social

Hi everyone! Have my interview next Wed at Indianapolis, does anyone know what type of interview they do?

Apparently it’s very laid back and conversational. 2 interviewers. Student and staff/MD

What is the status supposed to change to after the interview? mine still says "in process"...

Does anyone know if it is an open or closed file interview? SO SO nervous. Want this more than anything...but then again doesn't everyone on this site

Lol I was grilled harder than bacon. It is DEFINITELY open file. Depending on your interviewer though, they may choose to ask you about your MCAT, GPA, both or neither. So I'd say prepare just in case
