For those that have interviewed, what all did you bring to the interview other than the required photo?
I just brought the picture and my folder that had my prepared questions and stuff.

How official does the picture we bring need to be? I may have forgot and may have to print one off of my computer.

I just printed one off at CVS the night before my interview and it wasn’t the same dimensions that they asked for. You can just print from your phone at the photo kiosk at CVS.

Edit: lol I think I missed the point of your question. I would go with a headshot, if you don’t have one just put your your professional attire on and take a picture against a single color preferably white background

Mine was not official at all. I literally took a picture of myself from my laptop in a t-shirt. It was shoulders up. I was accepted so I don't think it matter so much. So don't stress about having to have a professional picture. I also smiled, cuz that's just me 😛

Ok. I’ll do the same and bring like a manila folder or something
I brought like the professional one, that zips up all around. But people did have plain folders, so I think you'll be fine! I just brought it because it had my questions. People were there empty handed as well! I think it is a matter of personal preference.

Is anyone coming from out of town and staying in any of the suggested hotels nearby tonight? Since my check-in isn't until 12:30, I was thinking of making the 4 hour drive down tomorrow morning, but now I'm contemplating driving in tonight and not stressing myself out tomorrow morning

I was thinking the same thing since I was 4 hours away, too. In my opinion, it may be better to go tonight so you're not tired when you first get there. Interviews make me very tired, so I would prefer to get there energized/well rested, then get tired, versus getting there tired and getting even more tired. I also like to spend the night before refreshing my knowledge about the school in a quiet place and alone, so I think a hotel is a good place for that. It's really a matter of personal preference!

I’m 3.5 hours away from Indianapolis and I’m heading there in a couple hours. I decided to stay at the Alexander. Even with the rate, it was expensive.

Interviewing tomorrow at South Bend! Anyone interviewed there yet? This is my first (and only) interview. So nervous!!!
Hello I’ll be there tomorrow too. I am also very nervous. I’ve heard of some people getting grilled during their interviews it haven’t heard anything too specific to south bend.

Do you guys know if they meet on the 15th? Or do they meet other days and just send out the letters on the 15th?

That’s a good question. I would imagine so if our interviewers have to fight for us gaining acceptance

I feel like I blacked out during my interview
Don't dwell on it! I interviewed 1/3 and I'm not too sure how I did either, but frankly, you can't go back in time... Just hope for the best and look forward to/prepare for other interviews. I wish you the best! 🙂

Well I don’t think I did terrible. I just remember the things I messed up. I don’t recall the highlights for some reason

That’s how it always is. I’m sure you did great, you can’t do anything about it now so no need to dwell on it! You probably won’t hear back this month, so sit tight and try not to think about it!

Interviewed yesterday in Indy and we were told that we were attending either the 7th or 8th of the 10 total interview days they hold.

Really seemes like yesterday was an OOS interviewee day because out of the ~80 interviewees, definitely less than 5 were IS applicants.

Finally got my interview date for the first week of February today! 🙂 Can anyone offer any advice for what to expect/watch out for?

It's a very laid back day. The information session is mostly with the students where you get to ask any questions you have about the school or campus life. The interview was very conversational. They asked me the general "why medicine" and "why IU" questions, but other than that we really just chatted about the work/activities I put on my app and any similarities we had. My advice would be to know your app and be able to talk about everything you put on there, cause they definitely looked at everything! Otherwise, just relax, it was honestly one of my most calming interviews

So I just called. The woman I spoke with said that they’ve already met or will have met by then and the letters will he sent out on the 15th.
Sorry to nitpick, but she suggested if they haven’t met yet today, they’ll be meeting over the weekend? Is that how you understood it?
And thanks for callin, pretty neurotic but nice to know that they will meet before the 15th!

They meet on the 15th. This month they will probably meet on Tuesday 16th given that the 15th falls on a holiday. That same day they send out acceptance letters over snail mail. If you haven’t gotten anything by the weekend, you were pushed for the next meeting.

She didn’t seem to know if they had met already. However since she’s aware of the holiday, she said the committee will have met before the holiday and the letters will be placed in the mail then since they are not open Jan 15th

I know some people who interviewed in November got their acceptances in December, does that give a possibility for January interviewees to be reviewed this month? Does anyone know this?

So letters have already been sent out? They are not open on weekends so according to your post they must have sent them today. Is this accurate?

For anyone who interviewed on 1/10, did your status in the portal change? I remember they mentioned it was suppose to...

I don’t know if it changed because I don’t remember what it was prior to my interview but right now it says “in process”

People that interviewed in January will not be reviewed this month. They will be looking at previous applicants anytime from September-December.

I interviewed 1/3, and my portal didn’t change until yesterday. Went from “in process” to “under consideration”.

Longtime lurker but wanted to post for everyone's benefit, especially those anxious like me.
Just checked my application status on one.iu and..... ACCEPTED!!!! So for those wondering they HAVE met already for this month and will have letters out soon, probably.
I interviewed 10/4 in Indy. In-state with somewhat low undergrad GPA, higher graduate GPA (grad program through IU), and average MCAT. Feel free to PM if you want more specifics.

She said letters will be mailed the 15th & they won’t be meeting the 15th because they’re closed. By that logic I guess that means they’ve met already and when I called her today she wasn’t sure of when they’d convene

The financial aid guy made it seem like we’d here back in February. But I guess it really depends on when they happen to pull your file?

Does anyone know if the one.iu method of finding out if you’re accepted is 100% accurate? My application status page is just blank boxes and just says please call the office of admissions for the status of your application and says nothing about my med school application. It probably is accurate if it says you got accepted, but if it says nothing does that mean you are definitely not accepted at this time?

What exactly is one.iu? And how do you use it to see your status? Is it different from the portal?

It’s the student center for IU students. I think you have to be at student at IU to use it but it doesn’t seem to be working for me anyway
