Well if one.iu is accurate then looks like I'm not getting in this month. This school's admission process is so mentally grueling
It sure is.Well if one.iu is accurate then looks like I'm not getting in this month. This school's admission process is so mentally grueling
Longtime lurker but wanted to post for everyone's benefit, especially those anxious like me.
Just checked my application status on one.iu and..... ACCEPTED!!!! So for those wondering they HAVE met already for this month and will have letters out soon, probably.
I interviewed 10/4 in Indy. In-state with somewhat low undergrad GPA, higher graduate GPA (grad program through IU), and average MCAT. Feel free to PM if you want more specifics.
Congrats!! Have either of your IUSM portals changed, or was it just the one.iu ones? My one.iu just tells me to refer to the IUSM portal, which still says under consideration. I'm trying to decide if it's time to panic or not hahaAHHH ME TOO! CONGRATS
It's time to panic, no luck this month 🙁Congrats!! Have either of your IUSM portals changed, or was it just the one.iu ones? My one.iu just tells me to refer to the IUSM portal, which still says under consideration. I'm trying to decide if it's time to panic or not haha![]()
My one.iu is the only one that changed to the admitted status “ congratulations you have been admitted. You will receive a formal admission letter in the mail with instructions for your next steps “Congrats!! Have either of your IUSM portals changed, or was it just the one.iu ones? Do you think that even though no official portals have changed and no letters have gone out that there's no hope for us this month? 🙁It's time to panic, no luck this month 🙁
According to this thread... I think the letters might be in the mail next week. In my case, my portal changed a week after my interview, so it takes time. I think the time to “panic” will be next weekend. Just because you’ll have to wait another month for a decision. In my case, I interviewed 1/3, so I’m expecting to hear back the week of 2/15 anyway. I think if you interviewed Sep-Dec, you might have a shot at hearing back next week. Once again, just my two cents!Do you think that even though no official portals have changed and no letters have gone out that there's no hope for us this month? 🙁
Well from last year’s thread, for us IU students, one.iu was the tell all. There were no false positives or negatives from what I could see. The fact that one.iu has changed for a couple people means they’ve already made decisions for this month. Just gotta keep positiveDo you think that even though no official portals have changed and no letters have gone out that there's no hope for us this month? 🙁
Yeah a handful of us on here (including myself) are from the Sep/Oct interview crew, and I'm hoping that we hear back this month because there weren't any December interviews. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for good news this upcoming week!Acco

I’ve heard of people interviewing in September and not hearing back until ~AprilWhat do you all think determines when they get back to you? Like @Aspiring4MD , I interviewed in January (10th) and I’m hoping I hear back in February as well.
Honestly who knows. I interviewed the first interview day- so like early September I think ? And just now got accepted. What do you all think determines when they get back to you? Like @Aspiring4MD , I interviewed in January (10th) and I’m hoping I hear back in February as well.
You will find out your campus assignment before the April 30th deadline. But IU varies on when they will tell you your campus assignment. Last year it was around April 27th.so will we know our campus assignent before the April 30th deadline to commit to just one medical school
Did you interview on September 6th? I interviewed the 13th and have yet to hear back, so I am encouraged to hear that there are still others in a similar situation as I am. Congratulations on your acceptance by the way!Honestly who knows. I interviewed the first interview day- so like early September I think ? And just now got accepted.
Same, same, same, and same.I interviewed on September 13th and have unfortunately yet to hear back as well. I didn't have any luck this month (according to One.iu), but am hopeful for February. I'm in-state and my LizzyM is ~67-68.
I’m also an undergrad at IU and have access to one.iu.edu. Where did you look to see your acceptance? I looked at the student center and the application status apps and each one just gives a link back to the IUSM application portal that everyone has access to.AHHH ME TOO! CONGRATS
The application status app is where it shows acceptance, but if it still refers you back to the IUSM portal then unfortunately I don't think it's happening for you this month. When you get accepted that message changes to a "congratulations" message.I’m also an undergrad at IU and have access to one.iu.edu. Where did you look to see your acceptance? Why can't they just put those messages on the portal that everyone has access to... smh. Here you go people. Looks likes thisView attachment 227909

Just re-checked and the previous application I actually heard back at the end of May after interviewing in SeptemberI hope I don’t hear back in April. That’d be agonizing
Anyone know IU's policy on thank you notes? Should I send in a handwritten one, an email, or upload it to the portal? I interviewed last Wed.
I didn't send a thank you note and still got accepted. IU interviews so many people I doubt sending one will have any effect on your application.
Thanks! Are you IS or OOS?
Yeah that’s exactly what mine says, I messaged earthdaybirthday and that’s what that person had before it changed as wellSo I am a reapplicant. Last year I could check portal status.
This year it is completely blank, it does not say IUPUI, fall 2018, medicine or any of those things.. all box’s are complete blank, which they were not last year and it states “call admissions for status of my application”
Does anyone else have this?
Sent from my iPhone using SDN mobile
Did you get rejected or waitlisted?Just re-checked and the previous application I actually heard back at the end of May after interviewing in September(not april)
RejectedDid you get rejected or waitlisted?
Yes, before it changed to this, all of my boxes were completely blank and there was always something like "call admissions office for the status of your application" at the bottom.Yeah that’s exactly what mine says, I messaged earthdaybirthday and that’s what that person had before it changed as well
I received an email today from the AAMC requesting a background check, saying, "Dear conditionally accepted or waitlisted applicant: a background check from one or medical schools you have applied to has been requested." My friend who was accepted last month just received this a few days ago. I have yet to receive a letter, but am hopeful that this is a sign of a letter on the way. Does anyone else have any knowledge about accepted students receiving this email, or do all applicants receive it?
You only get it if you are accepted to a med school or waitlisted. I got one last week because I was accepted to a separate medical school already.., it’s a good sign !!!I received an email today from the AAMC requesting a background check, saying, "Dear conditionally accepted or waitlisted applicant: a background check from one or medical schools you have applied to has been requested." When was your interview? So if we didn’t get this email and IU is the only school we’ve interviewed at does that mean we have been rejected? Or that simply a decision has not been made on our application?I received my first acceptance back in November and I got this email last week.
It's the annual AAMC Certiphi background check service that is sent out to all accepted/waitlisted (even if unbeknownst to the applicant) applicants at the start of each year.
If IU is the only school you've interviewed at and you got this email, it's a good sign that you weren't rejected. If you haven't been accepted and are still waiting to hear back from other schools for a post-II decision, it doesn't really tell you anything specific.
So if we didn’t get this email and IU is the only school we’ve interviewed at does that mean we have been rejected? Or that simply a decision has not been made on our application?
I'd say that an official decision has yet to be made.So if we didn’t get this email and IU is the only school we’ve interviewed at does that mean we have been rejected? Or that simply a decision has not been made on our application?
Sad. Well I’m the meantime I’ll fill out the surveyI'd say that an official decision has yet to be made.
Since they come by mail use this: Service CommitmentsHas anyone gotten anything in the mail yet from this school this month? I'd assume it'd be this week...
