2017-2018 Rosalind Franklin University

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I asked Admissions and their response was that everyone should have heard "something"... I'm guessing it means any correspondance, not a decision. :/ I wish I had a better answer lol.

Facebook group is up though! Log into Facebook | Facebook

The evening of my interview day (back in November), I got an email "Thank you for attending an interview at Rosalind Franklin University."

After that, I have not heard "something" or anything at all.

Not an accept, a reject, a hold, a waitlist, an invitation to apply to podiatry school... nothing.. 🙁

Have you called them? Maybe there’s a glitch.

I would contact the admissione office. I know RFU definitely takes their sweet time with this stuff, but I’m not sure it would take a full 3 months after your interview to hear anything.

Because Rosalind Franklin is also in the process of interviewing their BMS (special master's program) students right now, they may be waiting to see how many of them attend before accepting additional applicants. This is pure speculation, though.

Seems like they’re waiting on just about everyone. Hopefully there’s some movement soon because I’d love to attend!

Upon checking previous years' thread, most of Waitlist movement happened on May 1st and the end of May.

My guess is that they still need time to figure out the number of people to fill the waitlist, which is why they are still interviewing until April.

RFU is my last hope for MD and I am praying everything I could for her!

Can semi confirm on this with a 78% chance of accuracy

Has there been any re-app success at this school? If so, I would greatly appreciate a PM to ask about it.

Not a personal experience, but one of the students I talked to while interviewing here had applied 3 times. So just one person, but they definitely accept reapps.

Ok I’ll assume they meant they applied to RF three times, not just generally. Thank ya

So weird story. I am also one of the people who interviewed mid-November and hadn't heard ANYTHING. But since there seemed to be a lot of us, I didn't read into to it too much. However, this week I finally called them, no answer, so I left a voicemail and just got a call back tonight. I spoke with the admissions person, asking about the status of my account and she said that I had been sent an email Dec 13th, and had been waitlisted. So I'm glad in a way to finally know, but I did not ever receive that email - not in spam, promotions, anywhere. I have looked multiple times. And I was watching my email like a hawk that week, since it was a time where a lot of decisions were coming through. I confirmed the email address too... so now I know. I was basically unofficially waitlisted in my mind before anyway, so this doesn't feel much different.

🙄

Srsly, CMS needs to get it together lol.

Can any current students comment about the waitlist movement? Is it true that waitlist will only start to move after April 30th? Thanks!

No one knows the answer to that except Admissions.

I wonder if they know they’re putting a really bad taste in applicants mouths...
🙁 Hopefully at least you guys had good experiences with current students!

Yes! The students were awesome. Super friendly and open. It's just frustrating to not know where we stand after like 16 weeks when we were told it would take just a fraction of that time. I would have appreciated a "hold" e-mail or just a mass e-mail that they're delaying decisions until further notice. I feel like I spent so much money and my app just got lost or something.

+pity+

Apparently with this school it does. I interviewed late October and still have heard nothing...

I can only imagine how paralyzed the rest of their administration is if they cant decide on applicants for 5 months

Other people in this position called and found out they had actually been waitlisted. You might want to give them a call.

At this point I'd probably be willing to trade a kidney for an II. The struggle is real, my friends.
Lol, I have evidence that the schools wouldn't care...
Right there with you, though! It's not over 'til it's over. Hope that II comes through for you any minute!!!

I wouldn't base your entire opinion of the school based on the office of admissions. You will never deal with them again after your first day of classes. The feel you got from current students and faculty are a better indication of what your experience will be. I hope you all hear soon. 🙁

One of my good friends interviewed in April last year, so you never know.

Last year interviews went all the way through the end of April, I believe they are doing the same thing this year

Anyone who interviewed in December hear anything yet? I've emailed (no response) and called once, but supposedly app is still in review...

Does anyone know when they will be sending the next set of II? Will this be their last?

From what I remember, last year interview invites were sent out as late as the second or third week in April, and interviews were conducted through the end of April.

Other than that, I doubt that the times when they sent out II invites are predetermined, and even if they were, I doubt even more that anyone on this board would have access to that kind of information

Has anyone else been in complete silence since submitting the secondary? I didn't even receive the hold email they sent out around the holidays. Been complete since the beginning of August.
Same here. Was complete August 3rd. I already crossed this school out of my list.

I'm a little paranoid too. Based on previous pages, 1 or more people aren't receiving e-mail updates that Rosalind is sending. Apparently they aren't even going to spam. I'm tempted to call the admissions office to check, but am always hesitant because I don't want to annoy them.

I broke down and emailed. They wrote back two days later and were very polite, just said that my app was still under review.

After briefly reading all 36 pages on here, am I cray or have they not accepted anyone since October?

I guarantee that people have been accepted since October, they just haven’t posted about it in this thread. In reality, SDN is only used by a small percentage of medical school applicants and students, and of those who use it, even fewer actually post.

Yes, they may only be accepting the minimum number required by March 15 (191 students) which would mean they are slowly rolling them out, then they may extend more acceptances. I attended the very first interview and did got accepted October 31. By the logic of this thread, it would mean that ONLY people who interviewed on the very first day with me (Sept 15) received acceptances. This is highly unlikely being that there were only 48 people on my interview day (if I remember correctly).

Yes not every applicant is on SDN and even for those who are not everyone posts totally agreed. It's plausible people have been accepted here since October, but not a single person has reported it and I find that very very strange. With your logic about maybe people are getting accepted but not posting, wouldn't we see that on other threads as well? I've seen no other school thread where not a single person has reported an acceptance over a 5 month period during prime application time... idk wtf is going on with RFU
