I've been silently rooting for you for like the past 5 months. I really hope you get in. You've always had good advice for people on this threadWaitlist. OOS. Dang that makes a three for three.
Yes.. I was deferred since December and got the alternate list email just now..Is there a difference between being deferred and being put on the alternate list?
Do they release any stats on the alternate list? Like size, percent accepted, etc.?
Yep. that is how i am taking it.. 3 for 3 as well. guess have to wait for April 30th 🙁Same. Not really sure what it means, since I was deferred since September. Better than a rejection I guess!

Thanks, man! Means a lotLuckily my state school put me on their high priority WL so I will likely be going there, so all hope is not lost for me. I just really liked GCSOM!

MSAR Says 380 seats in the WL. 33 people were accepted on the WL. So under 10%. Take that for what its worthJust got put on the “alternate” list. Is this the same thing as a waitlist? How much movement is there on the waitlist?
Just got my financial aid package under the Empower award letter for 2018. Did anybody else get dizzy from the amount of debt this all means?

My letter hasn't been posted yet but when I go to accept/decline aid, I can see how much I was allotted for loans.... Kind of scary lol. Apparently I'm not getting any grants/need-based aid either....

To be completely honest, I had no concept of just how expensive this schooling would be until I saw these numbers a few days ago (and now that the financial aid letter came out, officially). It's daunting. But hey, all the more motivation to try your very hardest to make darn sure you graduate with that degree in four yearsMy letter hasn't been posted yet but when I go to accept/decline aid, I can see how much I was allotted for loans.... You should have gotten an email titled “important TCMC related info” or something along those lines that shows you how to set it up.Might be a dumb question but I received an email that my financial aid info was available but I was not given a log in for empower. Did you guys receive a log in in the email?
I interviewed in march and got accepted yesterday! it ended up being way faster turn around than they said it would beHave any March interviewees received decisions today? Congratulations everyone who just got good news
congrats! do you have ties to the region?I interviewed in march and got accepted yesterday! it ended up being way faster turn around than they said it would be
nope no ties to region or schoolcongrats! do you have ties to the region?
Embarrassing question, but does anyone know if pre-matriculants are also tested for nicotine?
If MSAR is correct it is less than 10%Does anyone know the odds of getting off the waitlist?
Wow. Depressing. If MSAR is correct it is less than 10%
I got it too. I don't know what it means in respect to position. . . I was very confused by this LOL part of me thought it was an acceptanceHey everyone, I'm currently on the "Alternate list" and today I got an email letting me know my position on the alternate list makes me eligible for automatic acceptance into the MBS program; Has anyone else gotten this same opportunity? I am trying to determine if this means I am towards the top of the list due to the offer, or towards the bottom. Any thoughts?
Yeah same here, they start the email with a congratulations just for the immediate let down of still being wait listed. Still a great plan B if you don't already have an acceptance.I got it too. Yeah tell me about it.. I was like "Yes"... finally an acceptance... well short lived 🙂Yeah same here, they start the email with a congratulations just for the immediate let down of still being wait listed. Still a great plan B if you don't already have an acceptance.
Just putting my 2 cents in I think these SMPs and BMS degrees are just another way for the med school apps process to get our money. . . I think it would be more beneficial to get a more marketable masters (M.S., MBA, M.A., MPH, etc.) I am currently working on an MPH and think that it will help me more than taking med school anatomy twice to get a BMS. . .Yeah tell me about it.. I was like "Yes"... finally an acceptance... well short lived 🙂
Do you really think it is a great plan "B"??
Thanks a lot.. I was thinking about MPH from Jefferson as well. Good Luck and I will very happy to see your acceptance...Just putting my 2 cents in I think these SMPs and BMS degrees are just another way for the med school apps process to get our money. . . Thanks man! The MPH will teach you a lot about preventative measures. It’s not all fun to learn but will definitely help you as physician. I say go for itThanks a lot.. I was thinking about MPH from Jefferson as well. Good Luck and I will very happy to see your acceptance...
Yes, it allows you to still apply to medical school for the next year (class of 2023), gives you another degree for your application, and guarantees you an interview at GCSOM. GCSOM also seems to pull largely from their MBS class.Yeah tell me about it.. I was like "Yes"... finally an acceptance... well short lived 🙂

I will be dropping my WL position. This is a great school and the focus on the community is spectacular!! I got an offer from my state school so it looks as if my dreams are becoming a reality. Best of luck, all!
