2017-2018 Tulane University Application

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Just received a pre-interview rejection from here. I was complete in mid August and got the green checkmark much later. I am not really surprised since so many amazing applicants got rejected here before me. I guess this school is looking for very specific things in their applicants. Good luck to the rest of you guys and girls who are waiting for their final decision.

Gotta say, I think you should mention it if you want! I visited here and they seem to be actively trying to increase diversity in all forms. There's an LGBTQ student group, and the multicultural center is new, but driven. I don't imagine that you would be discriminated against by Tulane admissions. On the contrary, I think it could be helpful. Of course, if you don't think its important to your identity, leave it out if you wish. But I don't think you should omit something you might otherwise mention for fear of unfair treatment, at least at Tulane. They just want to know who you are and what makes you you!

I second this. I'm not super involved in the LGBTQ+ community (although I identify as one) but I wrote on how it affected my narrative.

I spoke with admissions earlier today and they said they already sent some acceptances out this week.

I just called them and they said they will be releasing admissions decision in a couple of days...
Someone else should call and clarify, just so we are sure of what is going on haha

When I called them yesterday they said sometime this week. I am very skeptical they have sent out any.. (Besides ED of course)

pre or post interview decisions? it's kind of weird how theyre telling different people different things. maybe one of the staff members misunderstood the question on the phone?

It's alright.... maybe tomorrow

Got rejected a few days ago. Goodluck to the rest of you still in the running!

When was your complete date and how long did you have the green checkmark if you can remember? (I was complete 8/9 with green checkmark for 5 weeks so far. If they're going to reject me it will be soon..)

edit: nvm you said you were complete 8/11 a couple pages back lol.

Rejected today. Complete 8/1 510 MCAT 3.8 gpa 3.7 BCPM gpa. Also maybe worth noting I am an eagle scout, since they had a little box about that. Disappointed its looking like I won't get in any where this cycle. Had research, volunteering, and shadowing experience. 100+ hours in each. and I believe a good committee letter.

Sorry to hear that, but don't give up hope its still early in the cycle. Keep your head high!!

So I've officially been holding on to the green check mark for 10 weeks!

I went through threads from previous years, there were people who were complete in July who didn't receive an interview until January. There were also people who had a green checkmark all the way until March before being rejected.

Well I'd love to visit New Orleans in January so let's hope that is the case!

The interview day here is so enjoyable and fun. Everyone is so nice. To everyone that has an interview coming up, enjoy the day, and spend some time exploring New Orleans if you can.
2.5 weeks until I go! Never been!

Rejected... Hidden in my spam folder. 4.0 522. I used to live in New Orleans, my mom worked for TUSM as a researcher, and my PI was faculty there for years... Would've loved to go back

Complete for a month still a red exclamation instead of green checkmark - should I call admissions to check in? BTW congrats all of you with acceptances!

Rejected this morning pre-II. Was complete 8/18. GPA 3.4, MCAT 516. OOS
