Anyone know how long it takes roughly to get a decision one way or another after your status says 'under review?'

I don't believe it says that right away once you're complete so I suspect 'under review' actually kinda means 'under review' at this school?

Hm where does it say "under review", underneath the "Letter of References" area? Mine hasn't changed since 6/29 so I assume you're probably right and that they're looking at your app

Yeah I submitted within the first week and it still says my app is complete. I just hope they get to me soon...

Has anyone had any luck with Student Hosting? If not, does the school have any connections with hotels that offer a special rate?

If you stay at a hotel, check out the Holiday inn Express on Walnut St. as it's about 3 blocks from the medical school. Also, ask for either the Thomas Jefferson Medical School rate or the Thomas Jefferson Hospital rate. That rate is very reasonable and the hotel is incredibly convenient.

I have an interview in December and emailed a girl on the list they give us and confirmed housing with her!

So just to clarify, the status changes from "complete" to "under review" at some point? Wow, they are slow. I was complete 7/24 and nothing yet.

Same! Left my "any other things you want to tell us" essay blank tho so I'm not expecting much from Jeff

I submitted 8/1 and under "application complete" I have another box that says "application is under review"

My portal still says "application complete" and I received an II a couple of weeks ago lol. I never remember seeing the portal say "under review" but guess I could have missed that

What is this school’s interview style? MMI? Traditional?

I think they do some heavy filtering of apps. I also submitted 7/23 or 7/24 and got a II on 8/8.

Traditional. There’s a one on one interview with a faculty member and another with a current student, plus some social hours and presentations about the school, curriculum, etc.

Did everyone get an invitation for the open house on 10/26?

I think that is because you are a PA resident and they review you separate from the rest of the pack. They seem to favor PA residents for interviews according to the MSAR data - almost 3x the rate compared to out of state (19% v. 7%). Congrats on the invite!

does this school accept update letters?

I sent two update emails directly to Dr Callahan (guess it worked out fine), but if I were you, I would email her directly AND CC the admission email. She’s very nice and tends to reply to update emails

I am so sorry for all of you guys who are waiting... but it makes me feel better, - I am not alone anymore 🙂))))

Hi everyone! I have seen a lot of people talking about waiting and I definitely know it is tough. Jefferson does go through applications multiple times and so you really do have a chance at being called in for an interview all the way until the end of March. I know it is tough but please hang in there! If anyone has any questions please feel free to ask!

Anyone know if stats (GPA/MCAT) play a role in acceptance/waitlist decisions post-interview?

Has anyone heard back for hold/rejections yet? I'm wondering if I've been put on hold...

Complete end of July, "under review" showed up under "application complete" sometime in Sep I believe, and now it's just app complete again. Is anyone in the same boat?
