yup same here, ive been up their butts recently so mine should be in soon but you never know with these committees... if you havent already i would start to nudge them a little.

I wish "nudging" them would be enough. They told us that if we try calling them or annoying them asking about updates that they might take longer to write our respective letters.

jeez.... good luck man. From a fellow applicant thats also being delayed by his committee, I wish you the best.

I guess I am SO LUCKY that my school doesn't do committee letters...

In my case it is kind of a double-edged sword if I were to not have a committee letter option. On the one hand, YOU decide when your LoRs are complete. But at the same time, committee letters are nice because they override EVERY med school's individual letter requirements. My individual letters that I submitted to the committee don't satisfy the norm: 2 science, 1 non-science, 1 PI, 1 other extracurricular.

well that's so "nice" of them.... you would think that they should try to be helpful, you know? Because I would think that the more students get into medical school, the better the college looks... no?

Yeah, it is a little tough to make sure you have the right "mix", but at least I do not have to wait on stuff... I hate waiting 🙂))) .

Haha right?! Apparently it used to be even worse in years past, based on stories from past graduates (some of them were September releases!!).

I don't think the committee cares too much about the way the school looks at the end of the day (they seem to think that they already have a good enough reputation as a competitive and top-tier premed factory school which may or may not be true).

do you think that the majority of schools are committee? or individual letters? because if the majority are committee, than I guess it is ok, because majority are delayed...

If I had to guess, I would say most applicants from "established" schools have been using a prehealth committee for years (think well-known large state schools, top 50 privates with >5,000 undergraduates, etc). But for smaller private schools, LACs, and some of the smaller state schools, they probably don't have anything.

But it seems as though everything is trending towards committees as majority of med schools seem to prefer (or atleast claim to) committee letters when the option exists.

I am from George Mason University (VA state school), and we have over 20000 students. We do not have a committee, because we have only one pre-health advisor : )) (that includes vet school, dental and med school).

Haha no worries. My apologies for opening a large can of worms.

All I saw was October 23 and 25. I didn't look past October though
Are those literally the earliest dates?? I sent in my secondary July 5, but my committee letter just arrived this past week so if I were to be lucky and get an interview that would mean I'm November and after!!! That's ridiculous!!

Just submitted my secondary! Hopefully not too late for me.

Anybody know why there is the red exclamation mark next to my Letters of Rec on the status page but in the notes it says they were received on 7/11?

The earliest were Sept 11 and 14 but those got picked up fast yeah

Hey guys, just submitted today (I know I’m way behind some of y’all). Does anyone else have the problem in the portal where it says all of your letters have been received but there is a red X next to the letters of recommendation? Thanks!

I submitted yesterday and had that same problem, but checked back today and had the green checkmark. I'm not sure why, but I think it might just take a day or so after everything is submitted to change over.

So apparently my LORs were received over a century ago yet I'm still not under review. I guess my chances of an II from here are that low lol

App sent on 7/17 and still no secondary. Anyone else still waiting on a secondary?

For those who have received IIs, did any of you not submit your CASPer?

I finally got caught up on secondaries and added Tualne today. Regarding the question about leadership in clubs and organizations, would it be ok to talk about leadership experience at my place of employment instead?

Yes, that’s totally fine.

Also does Tulane NEED casper to start reviewing? I submitted on 12th but, casper was sent on 24th. Idk if them knowing I was sending CASPER slowed anything down
I haven't submitted my CASPer to them yet. I am debating if I should or not. I would rather send no score than a bad score.
