Complete 8/12
Under review 9/14
OOS

No word yet. Might be too early to hear back today...

Does this school really send all their IIs by end of September? When does their II season last until?

If the earliest dates are February, its looking pretty bad for the rest of us. Especially for those (including myself) that still haven't progressed to the green check mark and the under-review state.

Tulane, why you gotta be like this?

But don't you think they would open up more II slots earlier on? do they end their entire II season in feb or go up till march/april like others?

I have not received an under review status yet, and I've been complete since 8/7. Should I be worried?

From their website: Interviews are held from September through the end of February. Interview days are Monday through Friday and last from 8:00 am until approximately 2:30 PM. If available, overnight housing with a medical student can be arranged.

The interviews last until end of feb....but, per their site:
  • Interview Invites are sent any time from July - February, no matter when the application was complete
  • No News is Good News-your application is either under review or in the 'queue' to be invited
  • Invites are sent out in blocks throughout the cycle
  • We review and invite chronologically. If someone cancels their interview, you may have a chance to move up your interview
  • If you do not receive an invite by the first week of March, our slots are full and you will receive a rejection letter

@mariposas905 Well, not necessarily. Schools typically go into the cycle knowing roughly how many interviews they want to hand out and have a plan in place to spread out those interviews (can change if there are scheduling issues or weather problems or etc). We are basically at the end of the invite cycle (based on the last interview date being end of February). Their last remaining interview invites are probably gonna be MAD choosy, to say the least. I wouldn't be surprised if people that have a decent shot at an interview invite are "under review" for even longer periods of time because Tulane probably wants to see as many people in the application cycle as possible before completely shutting the door for interviews.

I have practically lost all hope at this point, considering I am not even under review yet. I am expecting a hold followed by an official rejection in the spring. If the "end of September" estimate is true this year for Tulane, it is basically over lol.

But maybe that's just me being pessimistic (or practical depending on how you look at it 😉 )

To be honest, I'm thinking all prior trends and procedures are in the air this year with the changes made to the national acceptance reporting. It might change how/who they offer interviews to. Additionally, it might explain why they are putting people on Hold this year. Perhaps this will result in a longer cycle as they can not predict the yield of their cohort like previous years.

True! And people may start canceling interviews after they get acceptances so spots could open up during the cycle

I was put on hold earlier today after going under review 08/31. Disappointed about the hold since I'm IS, LizzyM 75 and thought had a chance at at least an interview. Makes me question the wisdom of the rest of my list.

Under review 8/23 and no news yet. I was expecting to be placed on hold in the next wave, but maybe I'm getting the straight R lol.

That comforting to hear, was your interview on March? Was Tulane fast at that time too?
My interview was in December, so I guess they’re moving faster this year... the number of applicants keeps rising so I guess that’s why they fill up fast. Keep your head up! You can get interviews anytime from now till the Spring. My friend got his interview in February and got accepted a few weeks later. Stay hopeful.

Under review since 8/21, but still don't seem to have an update. My "application status" page still just has the green check marks by everything. No other real info

Again, could someone post the site for logging in to Tulane secondaries, 90+% sure I got an email from them but it appears to have gone rogue. Realize it's late and a secondary now is probably a donation, but also was really interested in Tulane and gotta shoot my shot.

also got the R, complete 7/29 under review 8/30. LM 74. i’m pretty devastated, this was a dream school for me, and my sister lives in new orleans as well

I'm very sorry, I am from the area as well. It's pretty disappointing! But I blame my school's committee for sending my letter late as an excuse not to feel as bad 😉

Thank you very much. Looks like Tulane didn't show me the love after all, UserID not found using my AMCAS profile. Oh well, too many damn essays to write anyway. ;-)

Thanks again!

I think Tulane sends secondaries to all applicants...it should be coming or you might want to call and check with them.

Does it say "In progress", or does it actually say "under review"?

My screen looks like this:

once that red light turns green that means its under review. right now its waiting for a screener. once it turns green you will get an email saying you are under review. its varies from person to person but i was under review for less than a week before I got my II but I also was complete 7/17

For people who have already interviewed, what were the kind of questions they ask during one-on-one? Were there any ethic questions? Thank you so much in advance.

No ethical questions. I heard it depends on the interviewer. But mine was asking about my activities and my passion for Tulane. Just show your love for Tulane and the city, and you will be fine!

Does anyone have info on immediate acceptance vs acceptance range stats? In past threads, people said that emails said that more were put on acceptance range than given an acceptance outright.

I just submitted my secondary 5 minutes ago. It says that one of my letters was not received but I have verified with other schools that it has. And Tulane doesn't accept emails or calls about the application status. So I submitted a different letter already in AMCAS.

I know I'm late but secondaries are so expensive. =(

I submitted 7/31 and I’m still not under review. Should I call them and ask them what’s up?

you can try, but I doubt they will tell you anything...since the portal says they don't accept call, emails, or communication regarding status of apps.
